Ah, I'd expected that you'd already have covered this 'Mech of the namesake of the Nova Cat clan and that I'd missed it before signing up to follow your own personal League, GDN. One of the most memorable groups/'Mech designs I've always remembered ever since/from as far back as when MechWarrior 2 on the PC was my introduction. However, this galaxy's got many factions, come and gone. That cool 'Cat's got mad-cat style. I'm fond of the Nova's "A" config since there's nothing like launching a multi-story giant war 'bot straight up into the air and across the battelfield sky for novelty/strategic maneuvering, from a first-person perspective. MechWarrior was the first IP to instill in me the importance of equipment temperature management in any simulated vehicle entertainment, at home or in arcades. The Shadowcat's base model looks like it has more versatile stability. I think the pared-down aethetics of both of these builds lend the 'Mechs to their adaptability to a variety of equipment and weapons suites. Eh! Cheers and thanks to the multi-video sponsor of this latest episode. And intergalactic gratitude to GDN for these informative and easily-digestible videos, like always. Have an awesome day, sir.
Nova cat was my favorite heavy mech and a nasty heavy hitter online back in the day. ER Large laser alpha striker you'd hide behind a hill and just pop up, alpha strike then hide again to cool down as you destroyed the enemy from a distance.
Shadowcat is my favorite from MW4 Vengeance. Mission Spoiler: It's Prime Configuration can geek a few Horthgar class Drops hips. After their APU's are blown, and targeting above the engines. Though it is also backed up by a pair of Bushwackers.
I used a special config on the nova cat: Instead of 3 large lasers, I replaced 2 of em by 2 streak 6. The last large laser, I experimentally replaced by an Sphere large pulser, which reduced more heat. But also, I tested it revered by an large xer instead. By the additional tonnage that was free, I put 2 smell xers to the center torso. The rest of free capacity, I used for additional sinks, plus, max armor. This variant is very heat-efficiant.
The Nova Cat B was one of my favorite mechs in MWO. The Shadow Cat has also seen me put a fair few hours in thanks to it's speed and maneuverability. Noticing a trend though with the Cougar then being my favorite light...
I find that varient so interesting but in my headcannon i think ot could be better. Clan lrms can fire at close ramge so screw it i would drop the 2 medium lasers and a heat sink and slap on a LAMS and either 2 tons armour or 1 ton armour and a BAP. Having the LAMS lets it deal its long range damage while mitigating enemy lrm return fire. Hell if you run 2 of them together they could completely wipe incoming fire from any ither sungle mech furubg lrms at them while blasting it with 180 missles per volley
Other cat names, ( and I'll miss a few); Panther, Lynx, Mist Lynx. I loved both of these in Mechcommander expansion. The Nova Cat was also good in MW4, but oh man, the heat issues.
Oh god ya. Mw4 nova with 6 large lasers. Drop its speed and extra equipment and put all the rest of the tonnage into sinks. Absolute sniper. 2 aimed shots kill everything
One thing about the Nova it's got style it's got looks and it's got lots of good firepower and I would have 10 of these bad boys within the shadow dancers group When you ain't at home with the cute and furry kind you're out on the field of battle with weapons that purr all night long
HAHAHAHA naming mechs after cats ... look at Ghost bear ... Kodiak, Grizzley, Bear Cub, Kuma (japanese for Bear), Karhu (Finnish for Bear), Bruin, Arcas (Hera turned his mother into a Bear after finding out zeus slept around again), Sun Bear (more well known as the Stooping Hawk), Ursus, Ursus II .... ya Ghost Bears put "Cat" mechs to shame lol
Yeah, i think his content and preparation are very good but the voice is annoying, if i was him i would setup a secondary channel and convert all content through a voice ai and reupload it there

These clan mechs apparently follow the Tarkin doctrin in their design... all of them are very aggressive looking...

The Shadow kitty is a nasty surprise with its gauss rifle and jump jets.

A very mean kitty.

cut Panther and Lynx out as they are IS mechs and don't count towards clan mechs named after cats ... as much as i enjoy the Lynx
@@anthonymonaghan4964 I might have to re watch it again, but I thought he said mechs with cat names, not just Clan Mechs.
@@gregdomenico1891 Yeah, any cat names work.

Two powerful, interesting designs:)
Thank you keep up the good work
Best looking mech
Nice as long as your not a little birdie like me. Thanks again Leona.
You’re welcome
A two-fer!
Thanks for the vid sir.👍🏼👍🏼
You bet
Shadow Cat and the Shadow Cat II variants are some of my favorite clan mechs.

What is the best/scarius mech suit in BattleTech?
Its ultimately a subjective opinion. I'd say the Banshee is kinda scary.
meow
😂 Shadowcat Prime is able to Core a Dropship!
When are you going to do the blood of kerensky series of books Nate would love to hear u red then
I'm pretty stretched time and effort-wise. I might be able to do it if somebody commissions me to.
I used both in mechwarrior 5, I liked the nova cat but thought the shadowcat was overrated

You might be on to something here.
Voice is still so off-putting so robotic with odd inflections. Like a text to speech.
