I have ONLY charged my 13 pro on the so called wireless charger since new and only to 80-85% and the battery is down quite a bit. I basically torture tested my 7+ battery and it was 85% many years later. It seems they have good batches and terrible batches of battery in the Apple iPhones. So that sucks for me.

    The most important tips are:
1- Use an Apple ORIGINAL slow 5W charger with Apple original cable to charge over night.
2- Don’t charge & discharge in the same time (like heavy gaming while charging).
3- Try charging between start point 10-20% & 80-90% as endpoint.
Edit: 4- Don’t spoil-charge your phone like at 50% battery, just because you’re home and you can charge. Let it first drain down to like 10-20% then start a new complete recharge cycle.
5- Don’t leave any apps/ games running in the background. Most apps use your location and drain the battery to remain open.

I had my battery replaced in my iPhone X in March of 2021. It's still at 94% health. And that was the original battery I replaced after 3.5 years of having the phone. The Optimized Battery Charging is the most important part. I also rarely ever drain my battery below 50% as I'm almost always on Wi-Fi and I'm not constantly using my phone all day. On a side note, I'm still rocking my Apple Watch 4 from 2018. It still lasts all day with no issues at all. It maybe gets down to 40% at the end of the day.

Optimized charging only works when you have a routine in your Life really. But the idea with the Automation is a really good one. Since I do have a plug like that, I could create it. - But I'd need to rewire my Desktop plugs then and that's not so likely. I did already create an automation for turning it on, when battery goes below 10%, so I can plug it in when I have turned it off at "night" or whenever I go/get to bed (neurodiversity can be a nuisance in that context) to save electric power drains from Stand-By-Modes.

I'll share my experince trying to limit battery to charge to 80% (or any other number)
I got a smart outlet that works with Google Home. Automating this outlet to turn on and off from the Shortcuts apps is relatively easy, the problem is that becasue is a power outlet, Google won't schedule on and off routines, and your iPhone has to be unlocked to run shortcuts. To kind of avoid/overcome these problems, I run an automation that plays a UA-cam video with a black screen to keep the phone unlocked until it reacheas 80% and now the shorcut to turn off the outlet runs fine.

Conclusion: If your iPhone comes out with a new iOS Version, you can update the next Version and then stop.
iPhone 14 came out with iOS 16, so you can update on iOS 17.X

I charged my XS Max and 13 Pro Max the same way (5w overnight, with fast charger top ups during the day and keeping it from running too low on charge), same chargers, and similar amounts of use each. After 1 year, the XS Max was at 100% health, and the 13 Pro Max was at around 95%. The XS Max was at 98% after 26 months (630 charge cycles) and my 13 Pro Max is at 92% after 18 months (410 cycles)... I think there is definitely an element of luck involved.

@@kwamesarpong41 the battery mah capacity is rated at a certain amount for each device. For example, a phone with a 5000mah battery is realistically the average capacity the batteries will be guaranteed to achieve. However due to chemical variations when manufacturing the batteries, every new battery will have slightly different capacity. This means most batteries come at or above the rated capacity and you will most likely have more than the 5000mah advertised, sometimes it could be 5020mah or it could be 5300mah. This is where the luck comes in!!
If your battery had 5300mah, that means it can lose 300mah of capacity and still be considered at 100% health. Your phone will only show as high as 100% in settings but this is why some phones last over a year before dropping below 100%.

Nice tips, but i will have to disagree on the 20%-80% range based on my experience.
My iPhone 13 Pro Max was charging since day one using the original fast charger and the original USB cable.
The charger was connected on a smart outlet that when the iPhone hit 80% the charger would shut off.
Not more than 10 times my battery went down from 20%.
No wireless charging and no magsafe accessories.
    Optimised charging on.
    Apple's Clear case.
Within 9 months, my iPhone went from 100% to 92% of battery health.
With my iPhone 14 Pro Max I let myself go, not worrying about these stuff.
I'm not monitoring my charging habits anymore.
I'm using magsafe chargers (ESR HaloLock MagSafe Kickstand) with the original fast charger and a type c to type c cable from belkin, as well as a Baseus 15w Magsafe Stand paired with a type c to type c cable from belkin and a UGREEN 66w dual type c charger.
I let it charge overnight and I charge it whenever I find it convenient through the day using any type c fast charger/cable and my ESR HaloLock MagSafe Kickstand that is always on the phone.
    Optimised charging on.
    Apple's Clear case.
7 months in, still at 100%.
Both brand new, same usage overtime.
I'ts not a big deal to loose 1%-8% over 7-9 months.
But it still makes you angry especially if you are actively monitoring your every move in order to be the best battery user out there.

My 13 Pro went from 91% to 85% in 6 months as well.
