Hello from Canada. It is interesting to see what different folks do. You have rain and mud in the winter. Today Dec 16, our ground is frozen solid. -22f this morning with the wind chill.
Thanks so much for your feedback! And my hats off to you that farm in those conditions! I cannot imagine! It’s really mild here today the high was 71*🤷♀️ Usually around 50* this time of year.
What kind of grasses I’m starting a homestead on 80 acres want to know what seeds I need for grass mix ???? I know Timothy Bermuda but what kind Rye for both seasons Alfalfa Then what ?
All the ones you mentioned are good. We have a lot of fescue but the jury is still out whether we think it’s good or bad. Here in NW AL alfalfa doesn’t do good. You would really just need to find out what grasses do good in your area
Not sure i understand your method, yet. Do you feed ALL the round bales at once or do you offer one at a time by moving the hot wire exposing one bale at a time?
The hose reel for the tape is a neat idea!
Thanks for your feedback! It’s the bomb! I just ask my Facebook friends if anyone had an old one they didn’t want. I think we got 5 from that 😜
Good thinking and doing.
Thank you! It really helps us for sure!
Have you considered using bale rings to reduce waste?
We have tried it but really don’t see a lot of difference and don’t have to worry about anyone getting stuck in one LOL

Basically 1 bake at a time by moving the hot wire. If there are lots of cows of course we expose more than 1 bale .
Thanks so much for your interest!
