  • Here is my 1 month accutane journey, I wanted to share my experience with Accutane for hormonal acne and Accutane without hormonal birth control. Isotretinoin is also referred to as Roaccutane and Accutane - so I use this interchangeably throughout the video.
    💜Follow me on instagram bit.ly/3gizyhP💜
Whilst discussing Accutane, I will also be focusing on Accutane without birth control and how I am using Accutane without being on birth control.
Accutane dryness is one of the most common side-effects. In this video I have before, and after images, since starting Isotretinoin. I have been dealing with some skin, dryness and dry, chapped, cracked lips. I have been ensuring to take my Accutane treatment with fatty foods to help the absorption of the Accutane.
I am getting Accutane via a private company; their information and website can be found here.
I wanted to compare my skin dryness to tretinoin as well to let you know how these differ.
This is a long video therefore chapters are below.
    0:00 Hello!
3:17 - Why I’ve only just started accuntane
    4:57 Birth control and accutane
5:35 Why do you need birth control for accutane
    7:14 My skin currently
    8:54 Skin dryness
    12:30 Accutane prep
15:50 Changing my makeup for my skin
16:55 2 of my dry skin fave
    17:25 Lip dryness
    19:25 Sunscreen
20:51 Where I got my accutane - getting accutane privately
    23:47 Breakouts
    25:13 You! 💖
The key points of this video are to share the side effects of Accutane along with before, and after results.I am currently on 40 MG of Accutane for my hormonal acne.
I am currently on 40 MG of Accutane for my hormonal acne. As I shared in other videos, I am a long-term acne sufferer and have been sharing my journey here on UA-cam and online.
Some of my previous acne treatments include tretinoin, antibiotics, adapalene, chemical peels and so so much more. All of which have provided me with some form of result. However, I have never been able to achieve a clear complexion. - Which is where accutane comes in.
The longer I've suffered with acne and the more inflamed and cystic my breakouts have become leaving me with the higher chances of scarring (indentations) forming on my skin too. Which is incredibly difficult to treat.
Ultimately, I reached a point where I wanted to break the acne cycle I was stuck in and try the closest thing we have to an acne 'cure' - however, this does come with the •common• side effects (that are certainly off-putting)
    - Dry skin, lips, nose and eyes
-Back pain, joint and muscle pain
-Other skin problems, including rashes, and mild itching
-Sore or dry mouth or throat
    -Headaches
With the potential of dealing with the above for 4-6 months. As well as the lifestyle changes needed for accutane treatment.
Within this series I will be sharing my accutane journey in ways such as:
◂ Accutane Skincare routine - what products are helping to combat the dry accutane skin
◂ Makeup for accutane dry skin
    ◂ Documenting the side effects
◂ Sharing how I got to this decision in detail
◂ Accutane and birth control / contraception
◂ Accutane before and after results
◂ Accutnane preparation - things you have to do prior to treatment

Keep us updated each month, I am about to visit my dermatologist next week, and I think I will go on second round of accutane after 7 years although the results of my first round when I was 14 didn't last for more than one year.😊

loved the chill vibe of this video! Glad to hear that treatment is starting off well for you. I agree that aquaphor is amazing, I use it every night too. During the day I also like to use burt's bees lip balm since I find it easier to apply than aquaphor. The sunscreen you use sounds really nice - I might try it if I can get my hands on it lol.
Looking forward to future updates 😊

Thank you for sharing!! Ahah team aquaphor, I’ve heard some people say that aquaphor or Vaseline did nothing for their lips?! I couldn’t live without it!
I definitely recommend the SPF, are you based outside the U.K.? Might be harder to get if so. 💞

It goes away but the issue is consistency as its not treating the underlying issue .

Hi, I have used adapelene and tretinoin (prescription retinoids) for over a year now. It all depends on the person, for me it over 6 months to see a very positive difference in my skin with retinoids and it kept my skin at bay from cystic acne. I had only about 2 bad breakouts after the 6 months, however it never guarantees that your skin will be completely clear. It all depends on the person, try it out for a consistent period of time, stay consistent and simple with your routine and if your acne does not get better don’t be scared to ask for medical help. (Azaleic acid from inkey list also helps incredibly).
