- The start of season 3 finds Diana reluctantly helping a young girl who says she saw her favorite pop star being kidnapped. The only problem: when Wonder Woman investigates, the pop star is still in his room. What's going on here?
I love the double spin transformation.
This episode was ahead of its time. It was basically an extended music video for I Was Made For Dancin' which would soon enter the Hot 100 on 11/11/78.
This continued the evolution of the series. In S3 they embraced and incorporated the pop culture of the day into their storylines. From the music to Diana's fashion. How could Diana afford to dress like that on a government servants salary? Must have been the money she received from selling the old coins the Queen gave her in the season two premiere.
laugh all you want but Leif was very popular back then not the greatest actor or singer but every girl in my high school was in love with him.
It was like that recent commercial where the guy said he wasn't a security guard, he was a security *monitor*. He was just there to let someone know if there was a problem.
Loved that off -the -shoulder, see-thru dress Lynda was almost wearing to the airport
RIP Jeannie Epper who passed away a few weeks ago. She was Lynda's stunt double and performed amazing special effects 7:42 unlike the CGI garbage of today.
On the DVD, Lynda Carter provides commentary for this episode!!
What does she say?
Is there anyone reading these comments because I used to watch wonder woman back in Philadelphia back in the late 70s and 1980s because I have two of the seasons back on DVD and I remembered the episode in the final season was called my teen idol is missing because I remembered a young 13-year-old girl named Dawn Lynn who played Whitney was an actress in it because she played alongside of Linda Carter when that episode was there now and then I remembered one of the girls who played in the partridge family from the 70s was in there also and I believe her name is Suzanne Crough because I know she passed away sometime ago because I remember seeing her in the crowd when she said the words, look he’s smiling he smiled at me.
Not only is this not the only time siblings played non-siblings, it's not the last. One I know of is the actor who played Andros in Power Rangers In Space did a movie with his sister where...let's just say their characters weren't siblings.
I remember Lief and the girl were on the original the "Walking Talk Movies"
They were also in "Circle of Fear" together. "Doorway to Death" episode. I think it is still on UA-cam.
Brother and sister.
The scene of him lip synching foreshadows what many singers would be doing years later in concert.
Is Dawn Lyn 3 ft. tall? She looks like Dorf standing next to all the giant people. I always liked Dodie on My Three Sons. She was a cute little busybody and could steal the scene. She grew up to be a cute teenager, and I don't blame her for getting out of the industry she grew up in. Time to do other things. It is pretty wild and strange, too, that she and LG are siblings.
According to Imdb, she's 4'10". So, not much over 3 feet!
When WW is scaling the building so that nobody hears the sound of landing on the roof, we are indeed seeing the same building in both shots. The windows are recessed so they a barely seen in the side shot. It's not a bare wall. The cape is concealing rigging and a stunt person.
There is a clever inside joke on the teen idol theme in the opening scene. The girl in the yellow shirt yelling "He looked at me" is holding a sign that says I love Kincaid". That girl is the late Suzanne Crough who played Tracy Partridge. The Partridge Family's manager was Mr. Kincaid.
Awesome fun facts!
21:48 She doesn't even touch him! He just runs directly into the side of the dumpster all on his own! :D :D Must be from bad guys version of the same service where those security guards at the beginning came from.
And of course the cape to hide the pulley system...
Dawn is Leif’s sister. I’m reading his memoir.
I often wondered what it was like having to crush on her brother.
0:31 "He saw me. . .he smiled at me. . .didja see that. . .HE NOTICED ME"!! You'd think having "Keith Partridge" as a brother (and being in a band yourself) would've temped her idol-worshipping.
Wow. Did not know all that about Dawn Lynn. That's pretty cool. I wish she stayed in acting. The season opener wasn't my favorite episode, but did have its moments. I think it's the updated "heavy on disco" style and ditching the established music for this final season that threw me off more at the time. But disco was at it's peak at the time too, and the show makers wanted the show to succeed. I just didn't get the same vibes. Will be giving season 3 a rewatch soon. After seeing yor other reviews I think I missed out on a few great episodes too...
What was the teenage singer's name?
@@wendywalker216 leif garret
Dawn Lyn is six years removed from playing Dodie, Steven Douglas' stepdaughter on My Three Sons.
"I Was Made For Dancin'" - peaks at #10 in Sept/Oct 1978......same as when this episode came out. Coincidence??????
Incorrect. It would reach #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 2/17/79.
Either way, it's still stunt casting to try to improve ratings. Season 3 had better stories. But has worse ones too.
The kidnapper is brilliant. I've never heard of kidnappers who made it so simple and relatively easy for the mark. Lane's agent said the next concert was worth $1 million. The ransom was $2 million. The kidnappers obviously researched to find an amount that was big enough to be worthwhile but small enough to be written off as the cost of doing business. Using a double means they could keep it quiet and avoid attracting other kidnappers right away. Whatever you may think of Lane's agent, WW did interfere with the simplest (though distasteful) way of resolving the situation and reduced Lane's chances of getting back unharmed.
Leonard Unger got kidnapped?
😂 Fantastic! ✨🥇✨👍🏼
7:42 Wrong costume for that long of a wall climb... never mind she's neither Adam West nor Nicholas Hammond!
12:07 I think you mean, "on display in a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware Of The Leopard!'"... the same department as the plans to demolish Arthur Dent's home.
Run by the same experts who are examining the Ark of the Covenant...
Song @16:00 reminds me of Running Blue by the Doors.
Ripley doesn't care about anyone else... believe it or not.
*rimshot*
This was great 😂
Dawn Lyn is pretty, but Leif is prettier 😍
Aw, you're just saying that because there's two of him ;)
@@dwashbur haha you got me good 🤣
Hey, dead ducks can make very tasty meals! :D
As a former duck hunter, I can verify that.
what city is this?
Diana is Wonder Woman? I never noticed?
Crockton
Wow these episodes are really terrible. And having Leif Garrett guest star didn’t help anything.
Why this guy doesn't stop talking?
To create a question such as this one, English does some weird things with the auxiliary verb. Hence, "Why doesn't this guy stop talking?" is a well-formed question in English.
Hope this helps.
The man talking is annoying
Yeah, but his flute playing is supposed to make up for it.
A lot less annoying than people totally missing the point of the channel and thinking they need to whine about it in the vain hope things will change...
