Star Wars and any fiction is known about. We know who and where the characters came from. Myths are different in the sense we don't know exactly what happened without personal experiences or some archeology to confirm some of the claimed events.
@Theosis-81 Yes. I get that myths are harder to falsify. I’m just pointing out that saying “Why is a religion a thing if there is no god” doesn’t make sense, because lots of stories exist that are not real. God myths are harder to falsify, but the fact that they exist doesn’t mean that they must be true any more than Star Wars must be real.

As someone who's been hypnotized, it's not so much that we allow someone to control us or "play along". It's more about them finding triggers and manipulations to lower our inhibitions and basically lower our defenses. I didn't believe I could be hypnotized, and after the act the hypnotist explained that the best subjects are those who WANT and those who DON'T WANT to be hypnotized, because your mind latches on to what they're doing which makes it easier to control you. People who simply don't care or are passive about it are the hardest to hypnotize. It's like that who "don't think about orange elephants" thing, which when you tell someone that, they start thinking about them because they're trying not to. It's mental manipulation and psychology.
I'm interested in trying it. I don't believe it's real and feel like I would actively try to resist it, so it would be curious to see if the manipulation can overcome those forces.
@@Krikenemp18 That was me. It's not that I don't think hypnotism is real. It is. It's just not magical woowoo nonsense. It's all about suggestion and priming and such. And as I was told, wanting to "be on guard" against it can make you more susceptible, because you're focusing on it directly, and that gets used against you. I went in expecting to resist it. But ended up under the effect. You can't be made to do something that isn't acceptable to you. They can't make you take a swing at someone for example (unless you really hated that person and already wanted to hit them). It's more about making you more open to accepting things you already accept, if that makes sense. When I was under, they had me basically doing a pole dance. Normally, I wouldn't do such a thing. Not because I couldn't see myself doing it, but because I'd be too embarrassed to. But under hypnosis, I felt more comfortable doing the thing. So I just did it (as my ex at the time showed me after recording it with her phone). It's something to do with lowering left brain activity (logic and reason) while increasing right brain activity (creativity and imagination). I've heard many people explain it as being drunk. Just lowered inhibitions.
Ricky Gervaise wrote, "I'm not saying faith doesn't exist. I know faith exists. I see it all the time. But believing in something doesn't make it true. Hoping that something is true doesn't make it true." Religion is the power of the Church over people. Often-times those people are poorly educated and can be easily convinced by mythology. I do not believe there is a "God"; there is no "Devil", and there never were any gods or any devils, other than in the fertile imaginations of humans. Nor is there a heaven or a hell. I am entitled to hold that understanding. In my submission, humans invent stories about heaven, hell, reincarnation, and the afterlife because it is not possible to form a mental image of ourselves simply not existing. Some need the comfort of at least an imaginary future rather than admit the actual fact of death. So, it is a placebo. That comfort so often fails to manifest. Having worked in the funeral industry, I have often-times witnessed family members being told, "It is God's plan" after the untimely death of a loved one. It doesn't seem to make it easier. As a Grandfather, listening to those platitudes at the funeral of a granddaughter who had passed at five weeks old, as I watched the pain in her parents' eyes, was simply insulting. Bibles were written, translated, retranslated, selectively edited, and interpolated by too many men and groups of men (and ONLY men). For example, the Council of Nicaea and the Council of Trent, to name but two editing sessions. I respect every person's right to live according to their religious beliefs. This does not imply a right to coerce others to live by those beliefs, even their children. Religion forced upon offspring is, in my view, a form of child abuse. If people wish to spend time on their knees while engaging in undignified begging to some invisible deity, a deity who, it is said, already has a plan, go for it. I shall not tell you that you are wrong. But do not presume that I must do the same. Nor must you expect such behaviour to be imposed on others through legislation in modern Western societies, whether you promote Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. If I wish to read about mythical characters or events, I can read the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien; most notably his tale of The Hobbit and, of course, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. His writings are so very much more believable than a book based on ancient superstitions that has been translated, interpolated, and edited many times. Mr Tolkien's books don't pretend to be anything other than fantasy.

If God is real and made everything in existence then he, she or it made sin. That being the case why did he, she or it come back in human form to correct the mistake which everything he,she or it made is good? They can't say it's because of freewill either. That would mean god has limits. Also why did this manufacturing process take 6 days?
@richardcolemanjr3749 You CAN say freewill - because free will is what gives us the capability to choose to follow God or reject Him - to draw on His wisdom and guidance alone or to 'eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil' and do things our own way. It causes each man to make a choice - for or against God - thereby solidifying the final responsibility for becoming a child of God - or not - to the desire and determination, faith and adherence to Christ of the individual. IOW, inability to be part of His everlasting Kingdom, forgiven, saved and redeemed (John 3 16), sadly, is a choice some people make for themselves, not because God wills it or is unloving and cruel, but because God didn't create robots. And to say God has 'limits' is incorrect. He is all powerful, omniscient and omni-present. That is NOT the same as saying God can't or doesn't limit Himself - as He did when He 'emptied Himself' of those 3 characteristics and became human flesh modeling for us God's love and mercy while serving the Father, only doing and saying what the Father told Him to do and speak.

It’s easy to see that ‘better’ is an entirely relative observation. What standard is being used? I could claim that the car I’m driving is ‘better’, because it’s non-polluting electric vehicle. But it’s also worse, because the energy storage is significantly lower. It’s better, because I can charge it at domestic electricity prices, but it’s worse because I can’t gas it up quickly.
Religion is an evolutionary behaviour from ancient tribal hominids that lacked science and modern philosophy, Religion helped ancient tribes with organisation, law, leadership, culture, education and other more personal needs. Spirituality helped people to deal with ancient life was much more dangerous and deaths were frequent. And hominids with curious and intelligent minds sought answers to many different questions that were difficult to answer without science. Religion is an instinctive behaviour related to genetics and brain structure that promoted spiritual behaviours. Tribes with effective religions had greater chances of success. Humans have instinctive behaviours that may be followed or resisted. Religious instinct is not a sole determinate of religious behaviour. Humans, unlike many other animals, are born very young so we depend more on learned behaviour than basic instincts. Many animals need to mature extremely quickly and are more dependent on instinctive behaviour. This is bit of a long answer, but also books could be written on the subject of instinctive religious behaviour.

Religion exists for a number of reasons, some are the humans are simply made up of wolves and sheep: sheep desire to be led and what better of an environment to be led than by a supernatural “father”. Religion was created because people had such a miserable day to day life that they needed to believe that the afterworld existed to give them hope. It exists because most people want to be a part of what they perceive everyone else does: like family, community, etc. religion also exists as a way to explain the unexplained. Also, humans desire structure, again sheep. IMO, many Christians truly don’t care if a god actually exists, they just need to follow. You can see currently that as fundamental religion declines, humans seek for something to replace it: today’s progressive far left and gender ideology is religion like and is replacing typical religion for them. Bottom line, humans fundamentally want to be tribal and most want to be led buy someone or something. It’s human nature. As life gets easier for people, the need to believe in the savior god wanes but the need to believe in some ideological framework remains

Ricky Gervaise wrote,
"I'm not saying faith doesn't exist. I know faith exists. I see it all the time. But believing in something doesn't make it true. Hoping that something is true doesn't make it true."
Religion is the power of the Church over people.

Next question, this one is too stupid to answer.

If they are not gods ? Why religions exist?
If there are not wizards and orcs, why does The Lord of the Rings exist?
The first people to believe in a god didn’t have “lots of people believe it” to fall back on as evidence. What convinced them?
Well, if some theists are to believed, then the first people to believe in a god, were in fact created by a god, who used some mud to create a man, and one of the man’s ribs to create a woman, and he spoke directly to them. That’s what convinced them (if you are convinced by the story).
Their own superstition, and their own pareidolia. You don’t need other people to believe there’s a boogie man in your closet or that your special binky will keep him away.
It started with the caveman who saw lightning and said "big man in sky angry you don't give me half of our spoils" to every single thing having it's own deity. Meaning some did get gifts and others didn't. You weren't going to give praise a offerings to the god of war i peacetime per example. Do vast numbers of people: Vote in Elections, Pass Laws, Judge others, Start Wars or Commit Genocides based on their beliefs in “Santa or Unicorns”?
Nope, but if they did - I can guarantee people would “passionately debate” them & insist they back up their beliefs with Evidence.
If someone tried to force you to behave a certain way because “Santa said so”……you wouldn’t argue against them or demand Evidence?
Because religious leader thinks there is God and I too believe there is something mysterious miracle mystery.
So because there is something mysterious then that must be god? That's like saying "i don't understand this, therefore it's god!".
We've had this before. "Lightning seem very mysterious to us and we don't understand it, therefore there must be a god producing it!". That's pretty much a version of the god of the gaps argument. Mysteries are evidence for the fact that people don't understand something. It's not evidence for anything else.

Here’s an interesting thought: What if God is like evolution? As humanity gets closer to understanding the universe, God evolves and expands, just like the universe. We may never find His presence directly, but we can observe His tools and mechanisms in the cosmos. This idea aligns with the Multicultural Cognitive Integration Model (MCIM) I developed, which bridges cultural understanding, ethical universalism, and empirical science.
Looking forward to your citation where you published this MCIM idea.
