    Good job on the flying and driving. Impressive. Hope you are able to get the driveshaft fixed quickly.

    It's called Four Wheel Assist for a reason. That's what a Deere service guy told me back in the 90's. Pain in the butt I know. You guys are growing up right in front of your UA-cam family.

    Those contours will certainly keep you on your toes, constantly turning and raising and lowering the plow.

    Just love your videos guys. You keep improving. Thank you. What is the difference between the small and large 4450?

    Good video, do you cultivate in strips to stop soil erosion? Cotlandfarmer

    Sorry about the tractor driveshaft. Hope it didn't do no more damage before you noticed it fall off. Interesting with those water way stripes. Good video.

    I noticed that a lot of the bigger farms are no longer plowing their fields - Just planting new crops over harvested fields.. I guess they find the soil holds more carbon that way and has some effect on the way the soil reflects the sunlight, resulting in milder temperatures.. Because they're not plowing, they have reduced labor, fuel and maintenance costs and less work during harvest cleanup. This led to the retirement of the 'Big Budd' tractor from the plowing business.

    Flying a drone while field cultivating. Damn you've got some talent! And does it automatically follow you? We already got cultivation and disking done, and corn planted lol. Grandpa started soybeans today.

      The automatic follow feature wont work. It always says not enough gps signal.

    They serve a huge purpose on land erosion, I'm from north central Ohio and we are just flatter and don't need that many. Thank God for hydraulics to raise and lower equipment.

    Nice multitasking with the drone/driving. It sucks the "follow me" mode doesn't work on it!

    Just didn't know if you overlapping on purpose to try to work ridges out of the land and cover the duals or whether that chisel plow left ridges to the outside edge. Just figured it was over kill if you were field culivating behind it. I know we overlap some the first time we work land behind cornstalks to incorporate them in.

    Up her where I live I have never seen waterways used. It seems they cultivate every square inch and when it rains hard it erodes and then they cultivate it again. The waterways give the water a place to go without wrecking the field and that to me a is pretty good idea.

    Hey just wondering why do you overlap so much on each pass of the chisel plow if you are just incorporating manure in. Just seems like overkill for incorporating manure.

    • @iowadairyboysFarms
      @iowadairyboysFarms  7 років тому +5

      I was flying a drone and driving at the same time cut me some slack. How is it overkill.

      Why y'all always use your mold board plows. Or should I say wash board plows since it erodes the hell out of the soil. They pretty much made it illegal here. You can still do it but they dont like it

    • @scotthinch
      @scotthinch 7 років тому

      Gustav Andersson Better the a plow. All moulghboards do is let the soil erode and wash away. it might work for you and not for us. I think we now how to farm in our area

    last week we tryed chisel plowing in our big field it looked dryed up but the first few rounds we were slipping so then we thought go a cross the road to a field that we rent from a neighbor so we got that all dug up then my dad thought it would be a good idea to put the cultivar on then the next thing we know the fuckin tire blew on our oliver 246 cultivar
