@anim8ted923 I'm guessing 8-10mph. Doesn't take much to get her moving. The stock sail rig comes with a main/jib configuration, but I wanted to keep it simple. That is a Balance Lug rig.
@TheAmericanSounds The NE Dory sail rig comes stock with a sloop rig, but I asked for help with a Lug Rig. John Harris of CLC designed and gave great advice for the conversion. I love it - less lines on a small boat, almost as efficient as conventional rig, and it looks salty! Thinking about building a boat?
I have been toying with the idea of a rig from a Hobie Tandem Island. I am thinking a block on a track port and starboard on the clew sliding the blocks ahead when shortening the sail.
I watched all your videos and love your lug rig. Did you build from scratch or the kit? I would like to use the same rig when I build my dory. Would you be willing to allow me to consult Mr. Harris about the conversion he set you up with?
That is what I like about small boat sailing. You're doing less than five miles an hour. But it feels like you are moving right along.

Good luck! You'll love this boat!

Fun !!! Like the nice stained wood look v.s. Typical painted dory. Did you do the sail mod. yourself? 4 Knots!!! Not too shabby for GB dory!
Greetings from Costa Rica. Great vidéo. did you build it.
Adolfo Arrieta yes, she was great fun to bulid and a very seaworthy boat!
Sorry for asking You design the whole boat or down load the plans.
I built it from a kit. Check it out at www.clcboats.com/shop/boats/wooden-sailboat-kits/northeaster-dory-rowing-sailing-kit.html
Just got my plans in the mail the other day!
