Cian Oba-Smith | The Photographers' Gallery New Talent 23

The Photographers’ Gallery presents the third edition of TPG New Talent - showcasing and supporting the most exciting and relevant UK-based emerging artists working in photography today.
The selected artists for 2023 are Igor Chekachkov, Weiyi (Margaret) Liang, Cynthia MaiWa Sitei, Cian Oba-Smith, Robbie Spotswood and Ruudu Ulas.
As part of the TNT programme, the TNT 23 artists have their work showcased on this website and on billboards (supported by JACK ARTS, part of BUILDHOLLYWOOD). Each artist is paired with a mentor and given a £1,500 bursary to support the development of their work over a 12-month period. TNT is part of The Photographers’ Gallery’s aim to be the home of new-generation photography.
Following a free open call, the six artists were chosen by artist Hoda Afshar and Karen McQuaid, Senior Curator at The Photographers’ Gallery. There is no entrance fee, age limit or educational requirement for anyone to enter.
They were selected by the esteemed artist Hoda Afshar, along with TPG Senior Curator, Karen McQuaid.
