As the mother of a disabled daughter, I couldn't believe his arrogance in imperiously demanding the disabled vets remain on stage with him. The two women were both amputees. My daughter would have been in agony being forced to stand so long. But it was all about him. He knew people wouldn't boo him if they were on stage with him. So cruel and arrogant. That was an incredibly long speech for amputees to be forced to stand through.

Tillman was a PROFESSIONAL NFL football player. He gave up a million dollar career and fame for a military career that paid next to nothing with no fame.

We are independent now, but it will stay with me for the rest of my life. I don't think Harry deserves this award. The award should have gone to an a real veteran hero. Not a spoiled prince! Keep in mind that the Invictus Games was originally an instigative brought froward by Kensington Palace...not by him. To me he doesn't resemble a true veteran...he doesn't have that qualities and for this I am afraid that the Pat Tillman award will loose it's real and true meaning in the future. What a shame!

The petition didn’t work, but it was the second lowest viewed show and Mary Tillman (Pat’s mother) did not attend. Venus Williams who was seated in the front row near Harry refused to stand or clap when Harry went onstage & H&M were heckled on their way out. They left right after Harry received the award. It was not a good night for them!

I am an American and I signed the petition to stop Harry from receiving our American hero award. Along with Mary Tillman, Pat's mother, I was infuriated by this decision. The Pat Tillman Award is an American award and should go to an American Military hero. Harry is no hero, rather, he is a spoiled, protected all of his life even in the British military, traitor to the Royal Family and to his country.
An non American won the award a few years ago.

It was a complete sham and a total disaster in my opinion.

Harry did NOT honour Mary Tillman, he mentioned her in some generic word salad about the bond of a mother and son, of course as a sub reference to himself because he has NO idea how not to make something about him. He actually completely INSULTED the mother of a hero by not addressing her direct criticism and ultimately by accepting the award. He could have easily graciously declined the award for himself and asked that it is given to actual Invictus veterans working behind the scenes.

The only thing Harry gave up was a very dysfunctional environment. To stand by his Family and break the cycle so his family can have a chance at a brighter future with freedom and becoming independent!!! He doesn’t have to do anything to help others he has chosen to continue to support what he has always believed in and continues his life being supportive of his fellow veterans and donating his time to charity because he is doing it out of kindness not obligation. Despite there will always be people who have chosen to act out of hatefulness and not lift a finger to put things into action like Harry has to help others in their own community. It’s easy to sit back and complain and let someone else make a difference in someone else’s life to improve things for others.

Sgt Elizabeth Marks (in the white) was very obvious in her displeasure and it came out in her tone of voice when she spoke about Harry and the award. Harry and Meghan leaving immediately and their rude blockage there before walking out just showed how little they respected anyone or anything but themselves.
Sad that as an adult Harold is compelled to purchase honors in an effort to elevate himself to his brother who, through no fault of his own was born first. William GIVES awards to encourage an honor others, not himself.

As an American who resides in Arizona and watched Pat Tillman play for my beloved home team the Arizona Cardinals I will never concede that the former royal deserved the prestigious 2024 Pat Tillman Award and therefore the award is NULL and VOID until a more suitable recipient is honored. It is my sincere hope that ESPN will realize their egregious error in judgment and select a genuine selfless military hero. Not a controversial Prince from another country as the recipient in 2025. I will never accept a privileged, less than honorable former royal WORTHY of such unique recognition. There are so many amazing and awesome military members and veterans that are so much more deserving!
