Nice to see you Andreas. You were the first person I learned from in 2017. Now here I am...making videos (still) almost every day for nearly 6 years. Thank you for all your work.
Extremely sound advice. I think if a certain hardware wallet company hadn't attempted to implement a seed-phrase backup service, people wouldn't have been driven to look into potentially "securer" alternatives...
It's great to hear from you Andreas, please don't let others stop you from continuing to share your knowledge and advice with the bitcoin community. God bless your talent and yourself as well. Take care!

there is no other viable PoW chain other than bitcoin as it is the apex predator that has already conquered its environmental niche. even if a new pow, better bitcoin chain would pop up, it wouldnt sustain as it cannot outcompete the early start/adoption. eth differentiating itself with an experimental PoS was its only chance to stay viable in the scene, but now, its headed to be the next cardano premine. check youtube for andreas antonopolous Immutability and Proof-of-Work, the speech about the tiger and lion and MOST importantly, the basis of my comment: aantonop "One Of A Kind: Why Bitcoin is 'The Next Bitcoin'"
Everything is a risk assessment. People hear about one person losing their bitcoin and assume the risk is high. Risk goes up the more carless we become, that is all.
this is true only for people living in america ruled by law.... if you live in asia, or under any corrupted regime, having a hardware wallet with you is almost identical to automatically turning in all of your cryptos....... privacy is more important than security and plausible deniability under duress is more important than the security of a certain device......
Copy-paste-compare-repeat... copy-paste-compare-repeat... copy-paste-compare-repeat... copy-paste-compare-repeat... to be sure it is the correct address before you pull the trigger.
The funds just weren't there? Or you actually saw that they'd been transferred out? If the former, are you sure that the funds were not in a passphrase wallet? (Or, if the seed was generated/funded on a different wallet than the one you restored to, it could also be a derivation path issue.)
Sometimes wallets use different derivation paths and when you restore using different wallet software, the new wallet may not look for your addresses on the same path. This would result in you seeing none of your former addresses. I've done a video about this topic, hopefully it will help you. ua-cam.com/video/p_SJKiff5Ng/v-deo.html
🙏 Any ideas on how to pass on wallet …after death? Unfortunately everyone I know thinks crypto is dumb.. and won’t bother to understand the nuances … I don’t want to to be a satoshi destroyer.
@@aantonopBut Andreas, Bitcoin is not widely accepted or understood. These courses are only for rich people who can afford to pay for them but also to lose their assets as btc is still considered a risky asset. You've done a lot to promote btc but I feel a charity aiming to educate and guide more and more people into using btc safely is what the world needs atm. When it becomes more stable and widely used, and consequently less risky for the average person then paying for courses like these would make more sense. Thank you for everything you've been offering so far.
In any case, if I ever lost my humble savings due to my carelessness, I would feel better than if FTX stole it from me and my money was used in some disgusting US president's campaign or funding it like the exchanges do. with their ass names. of formula 1 drivers.

Your still the best bitcoin/eth educator out there Andreas , thank you

For me, the biggest fear comes from exchanges and self-custody companies.
I didn’t realize how bad I needed to hear this. Just like that, I’m finally at peace about my security. Thank you!

Simple and effektive self custody solutions are still a barrier for most, to become sovereign individuals.
Does anyone know what Andreas' view is on Ethereum moving from PoW to PoS?

What do you think about Tangem wallet?
Very well explained 🙏❤️
Hi andreas. What a man. Keep going. Just a llitle question if i may. Do you think that privacy cryptos based on prof of work consensus have a future?
Excuse my ignorance, but which privacy coins don’t run on PoW?
Not exceeding the capability of your heirs. Super important. I overestimate my own capability all the time, but I don't my heirs'.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Miss you love you
Oh man, i miss your vids buddy.
Why do you mention anything other than Bitcoin? There is no second best.

and thats why i stongly recommend against having physical backups
Thus...the reason to use a passphrase wallet and non-passphrase wallet. At least.....thats what we have been taught.

What hardware wallets would you avoid?
ledger if u need shitcoins trazor if u need only bitcoin blockstreemjade or cold card
I used my seed to restore my Software wallet. All funds gone. No idea why so.
The funds just weren't there? Or you actually saw that they'd been transferred out?
If the former, are you sure that the funds were not in a passphrase wallet? (Or, if the seed was generated/funded on a different wallet than the one you restored to, it could also be a derivation path issue.)
The funds weren't there. Same wallet app. None of my old wallet addresses showed up.

higher chance you'll lose your bitcoin in a boating accident...
