just watched this video, I built something highly similar and I was wondering about the front sprocket, 36 tooth. i ordered smaller sizes to try them, I think a 15 tooth, which should give me more top end but i was wondering about clutch engagement and burning up belts.... I can get 10 to 11 mph as is pulling a large otter and me at about 230 lbs dressed and gear. maybe i should leave it alone,..??? quick tip, I bought a carb kit to up the jets as they came rather lean out of the box, came with a K and N style air cleaner, and adapter plate, I removed the bolt on muffler and made a mounting flange for the exhaust flange and ran 1.5 inch pipe to the stock snowmobile muffler that i reused and mounted to the side. it made a big difference in idle and start up and just seems to perform better all around. it is 6.5 predator engine to be clear. still may try the gear swap,...unsure....thanks for the video !!!
Hey im in the process of building mine was just wondering what gears you have in the chaincase i have 21 top 35 bottom in mine wondering if my gearing would be fine with a 46 tooth ?
I really had no strategy, it was a lot of grinder, sawsall, drilling out rivets and getting everything covered in coolant honestly. Probably the part of the build that takes the longest and isn’t that much fun haha
I ordered off of eBay. After looking at my recent orders it is a 36 tooth* my bad www.ebay.com/itm/35B36H-1-Bore-Type-B-Finish-Sprocket-for-35-Roller-Chain-36-Tooth-/323869042889?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
TR What Polaris sled chassis did you use for your track sled? Was there enough stock shaft to work with from the chain gear box to the opposite drive side? Curious about the chassis length and the amount of muscle you need to steer the track sled? Obviously you don't need any braking for the type of terrain your using it on any thoughts on that?
I believe it’s a 1996 xlt Indy lite. Yes there was enough drive shaft to work with just fine. It takes a little bit of upper body to run this machine but not bad at all. And it engine brakes quickly so I didn’t think brakes were needed on this machine
Tyler, if you watch my other track sled video I have all the items I used on this build. It’s just a Chinese knock off of a comet 30 but it works great
This is all #35 chain because I had some laying around but I would opt for going the next size up that the torque converter gives you just because these machines have a ton of torque.

Do you have link where I can find the chain tensioner?

How’d you cut the front end out I see you cut the front out up where the motor mounts are

Where did you get that 46 tooth sprocket?

What track size did you find works best or what size did you go with for this build. Also where did you order the clutch kit and 46 tooth sprocket
Never mind I see the links below Great build
Do you have problems with the belt wearing out quickly or how is it in deeper snow
Never, only time one broke was when I was pulling 6 guys and 3 sleds ice fishing haha
Looks good. I’ve been working on a sled myself
It is totally worth the time and effort building one. I’ve had lots of fun with mine.
@@TRoutdoors2021 I have mine documented on my channel as well. I don’t even go ice fishing lol I just had a blown up sled I didn’t want to scrap.

Nice!
Good info!!
What Torque converter did you use

Did you remove the idler wheels from your track?
I left the idle wheels in. I would recommend leaving them in

Did you lockout the suspension? Or leave it in there?
I just left it in. I never had a problem.
Do you have a link to the throttle cable you used
www.amazon.com/Throttle-Kazuma-Roketa-GK-28A-Spyder/dp/B07MB9M6WV/ref=sr_1_1?crid=21GK6FC5NVA0O&dchild=1&keywords=120+throttle+cable&qid=1613333823&sprefix=120+in+throttle%2Caps%2C193&sr=8-1
Does the sled part tip forward a little with the motor?
Actually not at all And the handle bars have enough leverage to lift the front end up pretty easy
Did you remove the govener?
I never did still intact 👍🏻
What size is the jackshaft for the sprocket? 1"?
Yep 36 tooth 1in
@@TRoutdoors2021 awesome, thank you
