It’s her money, she should get what she wants not what others think she should get. Not everyone wants a 24inch desktop and the version she got is the last of the Intel macs it’s not like she got an older one. This model isn’t even a full year old yet.
I love this iMac 27" ever. Now it's come up 24" new iMac, but I always love 27" iMac. There is none like iMac 27", I hope you enjoy with your new iMac.
Best Buy is selling the last remaining iMac stocks this weekend at $600 off. I bought another 16 GB of memory ($50), and mounted a 1TB hard drive. Tax, memory, drive….all of it for less than $1300 out the door. And working the machine this week, I’m blown away by how well it works. I still use M1’s for work. But for home and “my home work” strictly the iMac. Love this machine. That 5k monitor is amazing. And honestly, the speed for day to day task is very good. How do you fell after using this for a year or more?
I am between these two, iMac 27 and the 24, to be honest I like the old design much more. I can understand all these mix comments below (as have similar in my head) I hope you are still enjoying your iMac, nice to see long term review :)
Definitely made the right choice IMO. The 24 inch iMac is nice no doubt, but the screen on the 27 inch 5k iMac is quite literally the nicest screen I've ever used on a Mac. The 24" would feel cramped in comparison. You've got a 6 core CPU & upgradable RAM with 512GB of incredibly fast storage and a new M1 processor doesn't take away from that. I'm probably gonna end up with a 27 inch intel mac too just because I'm tired of waiting for a newer larger M1 Mac and I know that the intel Mac's will be supported for at least 5 years. I hope you're enjoying it. Great video.
Fantastic! I just bought a brand new iMac from people who received as a gift. Thought there was a hard drive missing? So it was good to see that I have exactly what you have. Thanks so much (:
Just got the 27" iMac i7 w 512GB and 8GB of memory, as well as 8GB of video memory. I have two keyboards the regular and the numeric keypad. The Regular has the handy function key, where the numeric has additional 3 function keys. I sometimes alternate between them, when I'm not doing numbers I'll just use the regular unit, the nice bit is that the keyboards switch quickly. Did get a USB Microphone for a YT channel in the future, but to be honest, you could probably get away with the built in Microphone. A teardown on this in.a YT video reveals the two speakers to be massive as they run the side length of the iMac, with the main motherboard to be on the bottom near the Apple Logo. Loving it!
This was an excellent review of the bigger imac. I liked the fact that you showed us everything that came with it, other than the computer itself. That is what sets it apart from other videos I've seen. I have the smaller 21 inch imac, the higher end version, which is just fine. It gets what I need done. I'm not seeking some sort of video editing, music making, making some sort of movie, or even art graphics, etc. I think a majority of people will find it great for what they need. I saw the complaints in the comments about this being an outdated look. However if that was the case, why has it been around for such a long time. They would have updated it a long time ago, if people didn't like the style of it. The design is timeless and looks great compared to other computers out there. Also why wait for an updated one with that size. You need this for work and it is a necessity. You don't know if the next one will be delayed or if some unknown event takes place where they delay it further. The smaller imac is nice but if you need a large computer now, then why wait for it. Unless you or your family is having desperate financial issues, it doesn't make sense if you need it for work or whatever. Which is reason enough I think to get this right away. You said you would do an update on how it's going. You may answer this in the next video if you'd like. I'm interested in knowing if you'll get a trackpad, or if not then why do you prefer the mouse instead? I find it tiring to use the mouse because I'm moving my whole arm and wrist all the time. I didn't see a trackpad in your video, so I'm assuming it didn't come with one? If you do get one, I'm guessing it will be the same chrome color or would you choose another color? Will you also get a keyboard with a 10 key on the side, or do you rarely input numbers? Is this your first desktop computer or I'm sure you've used one elsewhere? I also have a laptop if I need several screens to look at next to my imac or if I'm using that laptop away from my desk. Sometimes I just switch computers and use the other. It is also used for a backup. Although I haven't had any issues with mine other than the screen freezing sometimes. Then I'll just restart it or if I need to, just unplug and plug the back cord in again. I also added a backup time machine, rather than relying on the cloud to back up everything. It is just an extra accessory that I need, just in case so I don't lose anything I've saved in the past. I know the computer has enough memory, but I just want a backup as well. I like the fact that your larger imac has the ability to add more memory with that open slot in the back. The one I have does not have that. Of course the picture quality, faster processing, etc. is better on yours than mine. Anyway, you don't need to answer my questions, it's up to you. Although I think it would be interesting to know your opinions of the optional trackpad and optional keyboard that comes with a 10 key feature. If you like or dislike using those. Just to mention again, I prefer using the desktop also a majority of the time, because it is just easier to use, and the screen is just bigger. The laptop is fine for other things or to switch it up, etc. I guess it is easier to move around of course also. Thanks again.
Hello David! Thank for so much for watching! I believe all mac products are awesome, I am glad to hear you are pleased with yours as well. I love my imac and for everyone trying to bring negativity that is their own issue lol I agree that the design is timeless! I love the look of this one rather than the brand brand new one. (Personally not my style). I decided to stick with the regular mouse because, with work, I used to get hand cramps scrolling on a track pad, so I am hoping this helps some. It doesn't come with one but you can get one with your initial purchase with a $30 or so up charge instead of the mouse. The larger keyboard was also available with an up-charge, but for me I really have no use for it. I do not primarily work with numbers and I love the contrast between the HUGE monitor and tiny keyboard lol I use an external hard drive for memory just incase I want to use a different computer for editing. Thats annoying that it freezes up on you but hey first world problems. To fully answer your questions, I don't think I will be getting the trackpad or larger keyboard but it is nice that they give you the option! Thank you for your input! I am liking using my desktop more than my laptop as well! Thank you for watching and for your positivity! Sending you great vibes!
@@IlyssaAlvarez Thank you for the reply. You're welcome. I type so fast that I get carried away sometimes and leave a long comment. I didn't think the trackpad would be a problem. I guess it's a preference, but it didn't occur to me that it wouldn't be comfortable for some people to use. I guess obviously that's why they still include a mouse with every computer. I just prefer the trackpad. My computer is a couple years old and it rarely freezes up on me, possibly only a few times since I've had it. So I didn't want to give an impression that it's a problem. Every computer I've used has those issues, or some other problem, but from my experience it is less so on an imac computer. I don't think it will happen on yours, but if it does, what I explained is what I'd try first, as you obviously know. I primarly type but I've always had a keyboard with a 10 key, so that's just my preference. For me, it just looks odd without it, even though I type more than I use the 10 key feature. I think the imac was the first time I noticed they eliminated that, so I had to purchase a keyboard with that feature. I was also trained using that at a previous work place long ago and I'm just accustomed to it. The only other accessory I purchased was a computer monitor dust cover and a gel mouse pad for my trackpad. You don't really need the monitor cover, but that's up to you, along with the mouse pad. I purchased those through amazon since they have such a large variety to choose from. I wish you good luck on your youtube channel. Whether it's a hobby or for profit eventually. I'll try and catch up on a few of your other topics. Thanks again.
This imac is great, especially the 5k Display, who cares about this 24' thing. Its not like this one's gonna stop working because of M1. I hope you have a lot of fun with it!

I bet you have an drilling machine now after your experience from living in Sweden. I missed tatt when yuo showed what you had shopped in your preius vlog.😅
I LOVEEEE this one!!! I think it looks so much cleaner than the newer iMac! Also believe it or not, no concrete walls here, I think the only place I have lived with concrete walls was in Sweden!
Because the 27" is way cooler and way better than the 24". The 24" is a lollipop computer for kids, a big tablet on a stick in colours that make you want to vomit.
new imac has beautiful colors that i think especially girls would go crazy for it. its prossesor way better than i5. if you have chance to exchange with new imac i recommend it so bad and probably u r not gonna regret . But its your choice at the end, this one still good enough.
I, as a woman, find the new iMac unappealing. I am happy with my iMac and feel no need to contemplate an exchange. With knowledge of the new iMac, I still made the educated decision to purchase the one I now have, as mentioned in my video. Thanks for watching! Sending you positivity. :)
