Hey man. I am a traditional wood shop teacher(44 years and counting) so you can imagine my angst with the situation we are in with no students in my classroom/shop due to covid19!! You just became my classroom for a number of processes I haven't had time to cover with my students. Thanks for your videos! Your presentation is awesome. You get right the point, something kids thrive on today. I know many of my students won't have the supplies to create these things but hopefully it will trigger a curiosity for the future.
Hey man, Little tip from me, buy a can of "silbergleit" from Felder, it is meant to help wood to glide threw your planer more easily, but it works on so many other thing too, castiron worktops, handsaws, drawerglides, screws, everything. It is also oil free and does not stain at all. (One can is also a lifetime supply ;) )
Hey man - I have been using cruise ship liquor smuggling bags (looks a lot like Total Boat Halcyon finish containers) to store things like boiled linseed oil. You can squeeze most of the air out and they work great. They are apparently intended to be used for smuggling liquor into your luggage and onto a cruise ship, but they work great!
Hey man! Awesome tips, finally woodworking hacks that don't cost a million dollars, crazy tools, or a lot of hours of work. No question, just thanks for taking the time to make a super helpful video.
Hey man...I watch all of your videos! I find that yours are the most informative and thoroughly described! As an added bonus your not one of the youtubers that hide details so you have to pay them to recieve the most important information the video is about!! I don't have a problem with paying for knowledge, I am recently disabled from a hit and run; utilizing skills I haven't practiced in over 20 yrs. Plus new ones (Epoxys for example). Thank you very much for your videos!!!
@@BlacktailStudio I'm not going to lie. My attitude and outlook at first were both quite grim. I struggled for many months to find my way free of the depression! I found a great woman who helped me past the physical therapy and hardships, and showed me that this too shall pass! She has been heaven sent and even when we have to find the way (the money wasn't there for a jointer) I have one in the woodshop now! She sees the differences between your teaching and the others greed and says your amazing for it!! I chuckled and told her that's how we do things in Oregon!!!
You're right, alcohol is a good solution for a lot of shop problems, but is also a good solution for a lot of other problems and it can be fun too. Never mind, just the way you said it cracked me up. Danny
Hey Man I discovered that glide coat tip while hand planing. It makes them fly so I sprayed all my tools, trim router, jigsaw etc. All these tips were really helpful. Thanks for posting!
Hey man, just found your UA-cam channel. I’m in Clackamas. Keep them coming. I may attend a class when we get rid of the Covid situation. Thanks for the content in the meantime!
Hey man, for sanding smaller pieces lay a piece of foam shelf liner between the piece and the table. That little bit of friction will hold the piece for sanding as well as routing. Thanks for a straight forward video.
Hey man! Great hacks! If I may add to one: if you’ve got a mig welder in the shop, you likely have a tank of “Bloxygen” already - no need to buy it separately. I just add a few puffs of argon from the mig gun with the welder turned off, and the argon, being heavier than oxygen, displaces it and you’re left with an inert gas in the air gap. Works great!
Hey man, I always watch the whole vid. If someone takes the trouble to make some good content then we, the audience should have the courtesy to watch the whole thing. Regards, Mark Presling, Australia
Hey man! Love your channel. "Discovered" it a few days ago, & came back for the sanding glove diy. I spend a lot of time sanding finicky epoxy pieces, & often lose my grip (I have a gibbled left wing). This is brilliant. A softer glove with the super fine grit helps get into the nooks & crannies, so thanks for passing this idea along!
Hey man, just wanted you to know that I watched the whole thing and thank you for sharing. I'm going to put velcro on my glove tonight!! Its going to save me some frustration at the very least!! Keep them coming!!
Hey man, apparently almost everyone.....yes, I read through the comments. I really like the Velcro glove and inverted sander. Such simple ideas, yet most helpful. Thanks bud.
Hey Man, great tips. I'm definitely going to use the squeeze bottle tip on my oil finishes. Note to self, stop by the dollar store tomorrow. Thx for all you do.
Hey man! I've watched a ton of your videos but somehow missed this one until now. Happy to see how the famous sanding glove was made in the first place and now I want to make one also. Should really help prevent my hand from getting roasting hot from the friction of sanding.
Hey man! Thanks for the standing glove and sander in the vice...I do alot of scroll saw projects and both these ideas are going to cut time off my finish sanding!! Thanks !!
Hey man, I dig these “tips/ tricks” videos. I think it would be cool if you dropped more of these every now and again if you’ve got the time. I find that I won’t watch certain woodworkers tips videos as I’m not a fan of their style of communication, but I do like yours as you keeps it real.
Hey Man!👋🏻 I just ordered the 3M adhesive to make a couple sanding gloves for my husband and myself. I keep alcohol everywhere…I use it for so many things. Great ideas! Thanks!
Hey Man Alcohol is the solution to a lot of problems outside the shop too.
Hey man, beat me to it!
😂😂😂
but most often this is the root of all problems 😀
Just came to comment the same thing 😂🙄 - 2 months late. Just discovered this channel. Really great content. Thank you!!!
