That's because they don't use autotune+the album version is not edited, they do it on one take and they improvise on stage, all artists do, but they are just the best. So underrated band literally

I’d argue Coldplay were a bigger band post 2000 and The Libertines had more character than this band has ever had - the constant reinventions to try and stay relevant. But they do seem to have improved since that last album. He writes some interesting lyrics.
I’m not a fan of Arctic monkeys but this is like Bowie, Wings and Queen all rolled in to one, great song writing and the best vocals I’ve ever heard him deliver, If this was released in 1975 we’d consider it a classic today

Alex Turner is such a great performer, singing and feeling the vibe, his moves on the stage reflect perfectly what we fell when we linten to the chorus.
The live performances of their last couple of records show that the guys still have it and never lost it, despite the stark but endearing difference in tone from their earlier work. It's a great feeling that they're making the music they want and are clearly revelling in it, as well as being able to let loose on stage.
I'm here for 1:43 and onwards... What a song! What a performance! Alex went from that shy boy wearing guitar up high to be a confident character such as this, it is lovely to see. 🙌🏽

I loved how they mixed the new style of the past two albums with the traditional AM electric guitar at the end. One thing I wished with the new album was more of that. I really feel the guitar is the heart of their sound. Still enjoyed the new album overall.
This song is one of a kind. It has everything a song should have. Dynamic, feel, soul, power, good composition, balance... A pretty gown up sound with soul. Alex's voice is at its best. And, in a more personal note, that "callin' a day" with a delicious ripped voice at 1:31... wow! Five stars out of five!
I kinda resent that the album doesn't sound more like this. Lots of gravitas and emotion, big sweeping crescendos that bring catharsis to the buildups. Alex feels so much more alive here than he does for 90% of the album.
I love the fact that they have grown and followed their own ways. I was recently at their concert in Hillsborough Park (theirs and my home town) and witnessed so many who weren’t expecting their change in slowing down their old songs’Why Do You Only Call Me When You’re High’ was amazing slowed down, so many around me still singing it the old way 🙄🤦🏽♀️ I loved it, I appreciate change. As did Bowie change along his years in the ‘industry’ the Monkeys are doing the same, we can’t be listening to ‘Are U Mine’ forever!!! Keep going moving forwards lads you are fantastic and a huge asset to Sheffield ❤❤❤
