Your conversation with Taylor about having a balanced outlook about non-artificial products is so important. I've started to avoid most content about health consciousness and homemaking because usually I get served up some fearmongering with a side of sourdough from paranoid, online "crunchy moms." The algorithm also often places that content quite close to damaging conspiracies. It's not a side of the Internet that is healthy for me to stay on.
Thanks for your honesty :) We agree that there are many videos that we stay away from that can cause fear.
Which artificial products did you find beneficial? The question is well-meaning, in the sense that I cook everything from scratch, grow most of my food, wear mostly natural fabrics, don't wear any makeup... but still use the internet, take some store-bought, but well-reasearched supplements, some of which are synthetic, live in a non-natural home etc.
Ashley’s hair looks SO good!! That’s so impressive you did it at home too👏🏼❤️
aw thank you so much friend!
I work full time and still consider myself a homemaker. I’m cleaning cooking and filling this place with love making it a safe place for my family
I love that :)
Amen to that
I've been a Truly Free user for 5 years and it's wonderful! Especially with the dish soap when you refill you want to use rinse the whole thing out as your last sink full of dishes and then put the water in first otherwise it sudses up waaaaay too much and you have to let it sit instead of just adding the packet and shaking it up. I'd get a ketchup squeeze bottle for the dishwasher booster because that bottle will crack. Been there. Not stemming from fear is SO key and I'm so glad you brought that up!
The "I'm scared it's not gonna turn out" got me. We all have that fear but at the end of the day, it's food. Even if it's not pretty you can eat it. As my great grandma said "even my failures are edible," and your loaf looks good! King Arthur is definitely the move--my mom made a living developing flour for another company and she buys King Arthur.
This felt like the old vlogs again ❤🥹

Ashley thank you for this video! I’d love to see one on budgeting and groceries etc 🫶🏼
That is such a great idea, I will have to film that!
Love your videos Ash!! 💞
Taylor i can relate so much to what you are saying, I too had an eating disorder so I have to be very careful with what I'm starting to focus on, and I too have been (and still are a bit) on that side of social media where all they talk about is toxic chemicals in home products and food etc and that causes a lot of fear for me again and obsessive thoughts.. so thankyousomuch for sharing that, needed to hear that 😊
So proud of you girly!! It looks so good❤❤lol
I love this, this video was so refreshing and real !!
So relate to ashley when she said "why am i always doing things weird?" 🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The bread looks wonderful and so delicious! I enjoyed listening to and watching you girls vlog together today. I always enjoy hearing your take on things in the home making world. You are both so down to earth and everything you do and say is real. Real is sadly lacking today...in home making especially! I'm so glad you did this!🍲🥝
Aww thank you so much Kathleen :) You always are so encouraging! Thank you for your faithfulness in commenting and encouraging us!
Can we get a hair color tutorial like loveeeee it so gorg and how you styled it like that too!!!!!
What a fun video with your mom and your sis!❤
I love you hair! Looks so good 🤩🫶👱🏼♀️
Aw thank you so much friend!😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've learned sourdough from Lisa from Farmhouse on boone here on UA-cam, she's absolutely the best 🙌🏼
Thank you so much for that recommendation :) I will check her out!
@@coffeeandbibletime you got this!
Ashley LOVE the hair!!!!! I always love when you & Taylor are together. I'm single (by choice), 53, and I'm trying to be more of a homemaker. My son is grown and out of the home. It's just me and my dog. I cook for her, she doesn't eat dog food. I suffer from chronic back pain, so spending hours in the kitchen isn't doable for me. I made rustic bread for the very first time last year, and I'm obsessed. I want to try sourdough, but I'm intimidated. I'm going to try one day. Your bread turned out great! God bless, Kay
I'm really excited for Taylor to get married and have her own place and channel I know she does but just to do it with her future hubby is so exciting!!! Don't misunderstand me and think I don't like watching both ur vids, cause I do I love them
Love your hair ❤
Some honest sourdough advice- I’ve been making it for a couple of years now and the biggest thing I’ve learned is you absolutely do not have to follow the exact instructions. I used to always use a scale for it all and time everything and do a certain amount of stretch and folds…. I just wing it now and it always turns out great! I’ll take my starter out of the fridge when I want to use it, feed it some water and flour, get it to pancake batter consistency. Wait a few hours… or overnight hahaha. Start my dough whenever I can in the morning, stretch and fold when I remember, and then form it and refrigerate overnight. Bake it in the morning and that’s my rough “schedule”. Just do it when you have time!
THANK YOU! This is SOOO helpful! Thank you so much!!
I love your hair Ashley!
Thank you friend!
Love cooking with my sourdough! And it fun when you get a starter from a friend or family member. My sister & I started doing 30grams sourdough, 125grams warm filter water mix that then add 140 bread flour. We are loving it! So bubbly & rises beautifully! Don't give up! 😊👍Put uncooked rice on bottom of your dutch oven. Then put your dough on parchment paper then in your dutch oven. Cover cook for 20mins. Then 10 mins uncovered. 😊. Looks delicious! Good to see everyone!
Thanks for sharing your recipe! That’s so encouraging!
Lisa from Farmhouse on Boone is the best teacher for sourdough but y'all did so great with it for the first time!! I love her recipe for same day sourdough. One tip is that you really shouldn't cut it until it has completely cooled. I store my SD on a wooden platter under a glass cloche as it just looks so pretty in the kitchen. Anyway great job Ashley!!!
Beautiful sourdough loaf! Love these videos! Because of your last video, I am starting a Christ centered sabbath as well! I had never thought of it prior. Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Yay! That is so encouraging to hear :)))
I love your new hairstyle, Ash. And I'm right there with you with wanting to try sourdough. Love your vlogs and conversations. ❤
Glad I am not alone! :) Sourdough was always so intimidating to me!
You did great ashley!! It looks delicious!
aww thank you friend!
Enjoyed the video. Liked your comments about looking more at the positive. I've added more fruits and veggies to my diet and not hyper focusing on the other stuff thats maybe not so good. I'm on Staycation right now and i tend ro focus on what I didn't get done, that i wanted to get done on my Staycation instead of all the things I did get done. Stinking thinking. Now I focus on what i did get done or try to. Your comments were good reminders that it goes across all our lives. Love you all and your channel and your products.
Our thoughts can control our lives! It’s important to be aware of them and change them when they are not in line with God’s Word!
And I’m still working on this haha!
Me too 😂😂.
Hi Ashley, I just wanted to say hi and I pray all is well with you! I think Theo looks so much like you, from the glimpses. He's getting big so fast! I think it's great you are observing the sabbath with your family! I follow Jesus now but I was raised jewish. I love when you share the cookbooks you use too. I think you are a fabulous cook and the variety is wonderful! Have a great day! Much love and peace! Ruth 💖 💖 💖 xoxo
I totally agree it’s a calling… I feel called as a single mom but I definitely do not have the gift of home making 😂 but my kids are happy!
I just made homemade chocolate chip waffles to freeze for breakfast, and cinnamon rolls, and a loaf of bread all from scratch today, as well as made a batch of vegetable soup with all kinds of different vegetables today. Took me all day to make all of that but I now love making my own that I no longer buy it from the store. It's my goal to try sourdough one day.
That sounds like such a productive day!! I love your goal to try sourdough!
Ahhh I miss making sourdough!! This is making me want to do it again.
You should totally do it again! It’s so rewarding :)
Yes try to do your best to live a cleaner way but ultimately it is in everything, so really the one thing you can do is turn it over to the Lord and always pray over your food. I truly believe if you pray over your food then the enemy's attempt to harm our bodies will not harm us!
Thanks for sharing friend! :)
Love this so much ☺️💕
Thank you for sharing.
:) Thank you friend!
15:10 ROFLLLL 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hi all lovely friends how are you happy Tuesday afternoon and this was amazing video I enjoy your channel and you all amazing supporter
Thank you friend!
I've been dealing with post partum stink for a whiiiile but Humble works!!! My husband is on it too 😂 when you ran to get it i was like "humble???"😂
Hahaha! It is the BEST, right?!
I do feel like some channels make homemaking unattainable and it made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough and I burned out so quickly! Home making is a skill and one that has to be learned through trial and error and also everyone has different levels of how much they want to do. I set realistic goals for the week and I do what I can depending on my mental level of the day. For instance I chose week night recipes that are simple and save the complicated ones for when I have time for them. As long as my house and family are fed and cared for that is what is important. I make some stuff from scratch but not everything cause we can’t do it all we’re still human and not super woman lol
Amen!!! THANK YOU for those beautiful thoughts!!! You are a wise woman!
Thank you for sharing great family
I clean with vinegar and water, in glass spray bottles. A bottle in bathroom, a bottle in kitchen, and one in laundry area. Vinegar is cheap, a natural disenfectant and the vinegar smell is gone very quickly.
Thanks for sharing! Vinegar works great!
I use vinegar water with essential oils to mask the smell of vinegar! You do have to balance it out though so the vinegar isn’t more than water in the bottle. A bunch of essential oils keep pests out from the home too. Kevin and I only use harsher products for bathroom cleaning since we consider it our dirtiest part of our home. Homemaking is so much work btw, I’m exhausted and this is without baby here yet 😂😩
haha right?! It is SO much work!!!
I love making sourdough!
How did you highlight your hair???
Bread looks great. Cut slices with a serrated knife and it’ll be easier.
Thanks for the tip!
I'm discourage from sourdough starter. my first time to fail after i tried get another chance to making the sourdough.. im the procrastination :?
Please show us how to make sour dough starter. I don’t understand how to make that
I didn’t make it - I got it from a friend! So I’m not sure how to make a starter 😲
Hi Anita! I used Mary's Nest UA-cam channel to help me make my sourdough starter - it is really simple (just takes almost a week or so) and I used her 100% rye flour starter. I hope this helps you :)
@ thank you so much!!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Do you add water to those bottles to?
I add the product they sent and water!
Ash take your ring off when messing with the dough! Sourdough can be so hard to get off of things and small little nooks and crannies!
Thanks for the tip!!!
Hello, are you counsellors Christian? How do you navigate that? :) thanks
That iscwhy i have blocked some accounts on ig for the exact same reason Taylor is mentioning
What is homemaking and is it targeting women who are house wives? What is the intent on homemaking? Is this targeting women or just people who like homemaking in general?
Historically, "homemaker" refers to a housewife (a married woman who cares for a home). When women did start to enter the industrial workforce at the end of the 19th century, many working women would only be documented as working if they were single. Married women were usually documented as homemakers. The housewife / stay-at-home mom life is one piece of the homemaker umbrella online. People creating homemaker content try to focus more on managing a home and creating family routines more than documenting their own families like wife/mom pages would.
@@jessk187 Well said!
What is Christian homemaking ?
