A believer can’t be possessed… however, Christians can be oppressed by strong holds. There are Christian that battle with Horrible thoughts, anxiety and depression, and battle with mental unwanted thoughts and some illnesses that are attributed to an attack of the enemy. This is not possession, but these can be strongholds that a believer needs to be delivered from. When we get saved, it’s our spirit that gets regenerated, our soul (mind and emotions) have to be transformed. Some believers are battling and there is a level of deliverance they need.
Very well put! Strongholds can be so oppressive that a Child of God may feel like they have a demon, but they are just being deceived by the enemy. Prayer, The Word, fasting, patience, and complete faith in the power of God, can and will help overcome these strongholds, and I pray for all of us who are going through our spiritual battles! God bless!
@@Godschild951 the reason there are called strongholds, it’s because it’s something that deeper than your ability to rid yourself of it. This isn’t something that are reoccurring thoughts out the blue… this is spiritual bondage. Again, (for example) there are believers who really love God that are stuck in a horrible cycle of suicide thoughts and/or blasphemy thoughts. This is oppression coming from the enemy. Along with those thoughts are horrible nightmares etc… as of combating these you are right with the: prayer, fasting… the reason you “have to pray and fast is because it’s a spiritual attack “from the enemy.” All I’m saying attacks like these a person does need to be delivered. And many of times you need someone/s to pray for you to help break that cycle. This isn’t possession, but oppression and/or suppression. Depending on the level of oppression can determine the level of deliverance one need. I’ll be praying as well for all believers that are suffering in silence that’s confused about the warfare they are encountering. Just know to those that are battling, there’s freedom in Christ and His Word. Your weapons are mighty through the “pulling down” of strongholds. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I totally agree. Christians can't be possessed. Most of us do need deliverance from some types of sin though. That deliverance can either be an immediate miracle, or a miracle that happens after years of waiting. Or, it can take years of learning to walk away from a stronghold. I'm not sure if it has to take years, but, that's how it happens for some. In my opinion, some deliverance is based on our ability to believe God.
I've battled strongholds during my walk. What I did was obey the Word by submitting to God and resist the schemes of the devil. I fast and prayed to bring my body into subjection. I continuously renew my mind in the Word. I choose daily to walk in the Spirit so I don't fulfill the lusts of the flesh. If I fall into a temptation, I confess it before God and repent. It's a daily choice to deny myself. My faith must remain in Christ and in His promises so I can endure for His namesake. What I didn't need was a deliverance because it takes faith in Christ to be set free. What I didn't need was a demon cast out of me because I believe the Lord is greater than any form of His creation. No demon has any power or authority over the redeemed in Christ. It takes faith to accept this Truth so we can walk victoriously in Christ. The Truth sets us free.
@ your experience isn’t everyone’s experience. Yes, the believer has authority. Because someone battles doesn’t mean, they don’t have authority… it means they have to learn how to walk in faith. I’m grateful “that you didn’t need” a certain level of deliverance. Doesn’t mean everyone has been exposed to your level of faith. Everyone is on a journey, some are stronger than others. I’m glad you got what you needed. God bless.
Hi Corey, I actually have a devil in my home… a Dirt devil vacuum cleaner. And on occasion, when the carpets are dusty, I feel “possessed” to let that devil run all through my home. I also, as a chocolate lover, have an affinity for devil’s food cake. But as a Christian, those are the only “devils” I pay any attention to. Thank you for your wonderful teaching. It’s crazy to know that people believe that God and God alone, isn’t responsible or active, protecting the Christian from evil personally and through his ministering angels, who are not sitting in heaven twiddling thumbs waiting for “demon slayers” to take over their job! Christians need to wake up and study the Bible! Thank you Corey for your ministry!
Matthew 12:44-45 NKJV [44] Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it *empty* , swept, and put in order. Great video brother!
Our spirits cannot be possessed but our minds can, which is why Romans 12v2 says we should renew our minds in order to be transformed so that we can do the perfect will of God.
Flesh vs Holy Spirit. Are you submitting to the flesh or the Spirit. Our flesh wants to do evil or inner Spirit wants to do the will of God. We either say no to the sin or we don’t. For those who are saved.
Same old soup, just different bowls ...... How many videos or discussions are you going to have or make about this subject?? Who are you trying to convince??
I would like to see him explain how those who are Christian’s time and time again get deliverance and demons actually come out of them. It’s not possession because it doesn’t control their actions, but it definitely is oppression. It’s only those who never had deliverance or never done deliverance who can say this, but can’t explain how demons are actually coming out of people who are Christians
@@wendy-see woman is a Christian, mother took a piece of her hair without her knowing and brought it to a witch doctor and asked the witch to provide protection for her daughter. I agree brother Cory. Born again Holy Spirit filled Christians can NOT be filled with nor have demons in them.. Many verses show those who had demons were not Holy Spirit filled believers at all The bible is also clear light and darkness can not mix and our bodies are God's temples and he lives in us.. Those who preach Christian can are twisting scriptures and lead folks to fall into a ditch of bondage..
I'm so tired of "religion" ... So sick of the showboating... No, Christians do not have demons... We have flesh desires, and an unwillingness to say yes to God and we've become aware of it. Thus we need a Savior. Jesus paid it all. Addictions, bad conduct, what we believe is the right things to do that lead us to death... None of these are curses or demons... We are just people that way. Thank you Corey for your SOUND... BIBLICAL... doctrine.
Your spirit man is born again but your flesh and mind may still have struggles whether is selfish desires or sickness. Coming from a country where witchcraft is part of the culture, I would respectfully disagree. It seems like only in the west people carry that belief system (Christians can't have a demon), not africa, not asia, not the islands. The spirit realm is so much more complex than that and the laws that govern it are way more complicated. it's not so black and white.
@hansmo8282 The flesh and soul are what they can directly affect. Which can hinder ones walk. It isn't in just the west. Ministers have dealt with this globally for years. Numerous books, journals and other have been written on this subject including from ex-occult practitioners.

Thank you for doing this video Corey , whilst I may have differing opinions on other topics on your channel I appreciate the healthy conversations you create to help the body Ephesians 4:14- 15 style! . I was once heavily decieved in deliverance ministry of my old church ,I joined it saved then their sessions made me think I had demons and didn’t have Holy Spirit because I struggled with sin; oh how I could go back to my baby Christian self to tell myself the Son set you free, you’re righteous - walk in that! It was not only couple months ago I realised the experiences I had were pure emotionalism of being so afflicted ( OCD mental health, depression, false teaching) And copying what I was seeing; I wouldn’t black out, I had control of my body and could speak on my own terms unlike others which I do believe were under possession. I was lumped in with them due to their lack of understanding of deliverance Christian’s can have deliverance though- however it’s through the word of God through the renewing of the mind ! 🤩 Keep Speaking the truth !
No one gets demon possessed anymore. We are tempted and we have the choice to follow through or not follow through. Just like Paul told them in 1 Corinthians 10:13
If someone is in need of freedom, let’s bring them freedom. Then we either introduce them to Jesus or we remind them of who they are as a child of the Most High God Most that I hear arguing over “if” believers can be oppressed, don’t believe that anyone today is possessed by demons and chalk up any “demonic activity” to mental illness, sickness, sin, and flesh. Supposing that the early church took care of them all…
I do agree that a born-again believer can’t be possessed by a demon. However, it’s strange how Cory reads “born of God, overcomes the world” or “born of God, the evil one can’t touch” or “the world lies in the power of the evil one(yet the believer overcomes the world)”….all that is taken at face value. BUT, as soon as he gets to the “ he who is born of God does not sin”….nope, John can’t possibly be saying that we can stop sinning. And of course, the “go to” …..Romans 7…..but never will follow Romans 7 with Romans 8. Jesus is God! By faith we can overcome!l
Amen I noticed that as well. It’s so easy to interpret the Bible in a matter to fit your personal conviction. It’s funny how they go to Romans 7 to justify a believer sinning but in the same breath we overcome the world. If the believe is not a slave to sin, we can’t continue to use Romans 7. Help us Lord and may the body of Christ come into the unity of the faith.
I noticed that when I started going to churches, never heard them mention stopping sin or repenting, but I had been reading my bible for a while before I started going so I knew what it said. Same goes for deliverance, the bible says nowhere that a Christian can't have a demon and Jesus said to cast them out. The bible also says to trust in the Lord and not men.
Satan entered Judas he did not enter Peter. Satan wanted to sift "test severly" Peter like wheat but Jesus prayed for Him. Lucifer the tempter influenced peter he didnt possess hin
He only entered Judas. And, notice WHEN he entered Judas. Judas was a corrupt person the whole time he was with Christ. But, he wasn't possessed by the devil until a certain point. Most folks think just because a Christian struggles with habitual sin means that person is possessed. Demon influenced, maybe. But, not possessed.
This message did NOT convince me that a Christian cannot have a demon in his or her body. IF I did not know better, this teaching would have made me feel like God does not love professing Christians who are being oppressed by devils. If any of my brothers and sisters in Christ who are wrestling with the enemy, and felt that way after watching this video, I apologize. Your struggles are not indicative of God’s love for you. It is easy for the uninformed to say your struggles are of your imagination, but there are people who know that is not always the case. The enemy loves to make people believe that no one will believe them. That is why so many people suffer in silence. The fact remains, no Scripture specifically states that a Christian (can or) cannot have a demon in their body. Some people believe the possibility exists because the Holy Spirit can coexist with harmful viruses and bacteria in the body. Those who do not believe a Christian can have a demon in the body along with the Holy Spirit can only use Scripture(s) to infer that it is impossible. When the Bible is vague on a matter, we need to be careful, particularly when trying to disprove the possibility of such a matter. There are mysteries in the Bible, such as why Cain was concerned that other people would want to kill him. Where did those people come from?
Well put together. “And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are-the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.” Mark 1:23-26 ESV Rebuttal to Corey here is one for all we know this man is a Christian. ““When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.”” Luke 11:24-26 ESV I can tell you from experience that he’s not right here but what I know me and my wife are now delivered from all that and our house is full of light our lamp isn’t just shining it does have oil. I say to Corey out of love. If men and woman are still stuck in bondage and it’s no the flesh then what is it. We don’t battle flesh and blood but principalities and powers. This principle is real and god is spirit. Just saying out of love Corey. God is spirit and knowing God is spirit the scripture is to help us grow but even Paul got revelation before he wrote it down. It’s time to use wisdom and the spirit of revelation to grow pass where we are. God is a moving forward God. Unity is the key here. God bless you

Once again, corey who doesn’t have a leader to help him. If you, A Christian dabble in things that they shouldn’t can expose them to demonic influence which means the Holy Spirit is gone, why ? 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 clears this up. Corey is focused on his scripture software but doesn’t have the spirit of the lord that can illuminate truths.
I would like to see this person go thru a demonstration then. I have seen the same exact Christians say this and then have spirits coming out of them a few minutes later.
If they had demons that person was as saved as the keyboard you typed the comment with, in order to be saved you have to be born again (from above, see John chapter 3), to be born from above means God did it not your water baptism or confession, (Ezekiel 36:25 - 27), you can't have God's spirit in you and Satan or any of his demons, Jesus said he would never leave you. Read the parable of the Sower, all of the believed but only one of the grounds (hearts) were saved, the other 3 can have demons and appear to be saved but they were not born from again (above).
COREY, As humbly as I can say it, you don’t have enough insight into the subject . You lack experience to help complete defining what the scriptures intent actually is. But no one will convince you of this until the Lord does first.. It was Jesus who said we were cast our devils… How many have you engaged to do exactly what he said the way he taught it by the way he modeled it? Be honest.. Overcome occupation in the soul, composed of your mind, your will and your emotions. You don’t understand the access we foolishly give to the devil… He will never ever ever have access to our spirit which belongs to God! Besides that you have a 1 Corinthians 5 hurdle. The Holy Ghost helps each one of us to unpack 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Once that done, you come to a different conclusion… Stay meek follow his model and you will help far more people than you ever dreamed: 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Great topic Corey, my brother as well, but we must ask the question, how can a person whether Christian or not even get possessed by a demon in the first place? And why would a demon want to possess a human?
@@DemondreRandolph great question. The early church was quite familiar with Enoch (book 1… not 2 through 4). It describes the fall of the angels that we read about in genesis 6. The result of these unclean spirits mating with women was the nephilim. This unclean and defiant act lead to a creation that God did not put His stamp of approval on. The nephilim do not have the promise of reconciliation to God through Christ, the way that believing mankind does. Their sins are not forgiven. When they physically died, their spirit (demon) seeks a body to inhabit. Think of them as a personality without a body. They hate man (who is made in the image of God), and will do whatever they can to cause man to stumble, die, be broken, in bondage, cursed, forget who they are in Christ, etc. They will ultimately be burned in the lake of fire after final judgment. It’s interesting to read the OT where God’s people were told to utterly destroy a place and take no wives or cattle or gold were only places that had nephilim giants or raphiem descendants. Goliath is one of many. Og of Bashan and his brother are other giants. God seemed to strategically send His people to war with the descendants of rebellious heavenly hosts to wipe them out and possess the promised land… which still hasn’t been done and won’t be until His return. Truly, this life is spiritual warfare against these principalities, powers, and spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places. They want all mankind in the same judgment that they will receive. Now I’ll get a bunch of flak for this because the isn’t taught as mainstream Christian doctrines of the faith.. I’m not a Gnostic or into secret knowledge or any of that garbage. Christ is our only hope and we have more enemies trying to destroy us than just the flesh Be blessed brother

@@bobbychristopher8777 Simon Peter denied Jesus three times, because a spirit influenced him that wasn’t the Holy Spirit. Our unbelief and turning away from faith gives a foothold to the devil. For instance, one night a while back, I was struggling with my faith and I actually got angry and upset at God and yelled at Him. I didn’t repent for that before I slept, and I gave the enemy a door to get in and attack. I had an episode of sleep paralysis that night! That is an example of how spirits oppress you as a Holy Spirit filled Christian.
@Jessica..Deborah Simon Peter wasn't in dwelled with the Holy Spirit until Jesus ascended to heaven at Pentecost and then showered down the Holy Spirit on the believers
Great Job Corey! Set them straight! How stupid can someone be to think that the holy Spirit living inside them and the devil also living in them. Demons take complete control of a human body and soul during possession. Likewise, the Holy Spirit also completely posses the human soul and body. So there you would have the conflict. And the last thing a demon would want is to be trapped in a body with the Holy Spirit in charge.
I have a demon, but I've never been possessed by it but influenced by it sometimes. For me, I'm at that level of faith where i can resist the demon being in control of my body. Sometimes, the line is blurry between influence and possession. I know someone who has done things that can be considered possession, and the person is a believer in christ. Stress amongst other things was a major trigger for this person but since pastors have been delivering this person from the demons, those instances of possession have stopped. Influence or possession over the person has been reduced but not completely delivered. DELIVERANCE IS TAKING TOO LONG BECAUSE THE PERSON DOES WANT TO FAST, I MYSELF TOO.
There Christians who need Deliverance .... Yes it is possible that Christians can be "Influenced by" unclean spirits, and can have [demonic] 'Spiritual Strongholds' that afflict, suppress, oppress, bound and ensnare the Soul ... Its not just this Physical/Material world that we contend with: "For we wrestle not [only contend] with just flesh and blood..." Ephesians 6:12
Sin is a clear open door to someone getting a demon, that cannot be argued. So you’re telling me a Christian who falls into sin is immune from this principle?(I know many born again believers who have fallen into sin so someone born of God can still sin) There are no scriptures that say a Christian can not get a demon.
They sure cant. God is Holy and we are told in the bible evil cant stand in the presence of God. The Holy Spirit is not gonna allow a demon to occupy a person with Him. No fellowship with dark and light

Shalom man of God and many blessings to you and to your beautiful wife and families (personal/ministries). I do understand where you are coming from. But there is something I would like for you to pay close attention to in The Scriptures. The Messiah Jesus Christ/Yehushua Hamashiach came to His people first preaching the truth about Him and the redemption He would bring unto them correct? Now before He gave up His life on the cross for His people, He basically introduced them to an experience that gives language to what redemption does, which was the activity of casting out demons. Now if He was casting out demons in people who have not yet been exposed to His gift of redemption, then what does that actually say about the lives of those who have received the gift? Would it not be careless and unsafe for The Messiah to be casting demons out of people without Him going through the sacrifice first? The Messiah was exposing His people to this activity before His sacrifice on the cross because they were already in a covenant relationship with Him and The Father. These are His people. And there were those who believed in Him who had demons. And He was able to cast them out of them because they chose to believe that He is The Messiah. Does this keep them from being exposed to demonic activity? No it does not. Because there is an event in Scripture where He had to tell a man to go and sin no more so something worst would not come unto him. (John chapter 5). In John 5 a man was dealing with an infirmity because of the sin he entertained and committed in his life. That opens a door to demonic influence. So this man had a demon because of his choice to sin. The sin he engaged in caused a demon spirit to visit him. And that spirit was carrying an infirmity. The demon spirit was dealt with through the gift of healing. This was the gift and method The Messiah chose to use in order to restore this man in wholeness. He made him whole Pastor Corey (verse 11). Now how was he made whole without redemption? Because he was already in covenant with The Messiah. The man was a part of Israel. Now if The Messiah's own people are able to be exposed to demon spirits, those outside of Israel are not exempt, especially if they have received The Messiah through the gift of redemption. This is why it is important for believers to have the regeneration process active in their walk. It is this process that helps to keep them from being violated by demonic spirits. I hope this does not sound confusing to you. And I do thank you for allowing me to share this with you. Because even though we are born again, we are not exempt from dealing with demonic activity and demonic influence. It is our responsibility to keep it from defiling our walk. So I do agree that those who are born of GOD do not sin (1 John 5:18). And the believer is able to keep himself because he is regenerating while walking out this life with The Messiah. The regeneration process is something we cannot neglect. It helps us to overcome and conquer sin and demonic spirits. GOD Bless you and Shalom unto you and to your beautiful wife and families.

Those aren’t demons. They’re a figments of your imagination. Stop hanging around people who scare you with demons, and the dreams will go away.

It blew almost everything I knew and had learned out of the water: gnostic thought, there being more than one way to Heaven, not questioning people who are in leadership, and possession of believers, to name a few!!! Great video brother!
WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS, THERE IS LIBERTY!
It says cast out demons with no specific who whether they are Christians or not it does specify.
The Bible does specify who is IN a Christian and who isn't IN a Christian. You can't cast a devil OUT of a Christian if a devil is not IN a Christian.
The devil doesn't possess the minds of believers either.
@@broco6608 ok, so why exactly are we renewing our minds?

I was lumped in with them due to their lack of understanding of deliverance
Christian’s can have deliverance though- however it’s through the word of God through the renewing of the mind ! 🤩
Keep Speaking the truth !

Deliverance through the Word by mind renewal. Facts.
This is not true because the devils believe to. Believing doesn’t mean you are born again. Confessing Christ doesn’t mean you are born of God!
Anything said with ones mouth can be false. This is not the point of the discussion.
No one gets demon possessed anymore. We are tempted and we have the choice to follow through or not follow through. Just like Paul told them in 1 Corinthians 10:13
Unbelievers can have demons and be possessed.
Believers can’t have demons or be possessed by them.
You can’t back that up with scripture.
Resist the Devil and he will FLEE FROM YOU.
If someone is in need of freedom, let’s bring them freedom.
Then we either introduce them to Jesus or we remind them of who they are as a child of the Most High God
Most that I hear arguing over “if” believers can be oppressed, don’t believe that anyone today is possessed by demons and chalk up any “demonic activity” to mental illness, sickness, sin, and flesh.
Excellently studied and explained Corey!
Don’t forget Satan enter Peter and Judas. So the statement was definitely wrong sir.
I know who you are-the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.”
Mark 1:23-26 ESV
Rebuttal to Corey here is one for all we know this man is a Christian.
And the last state of that person is worse than the first.””
Luke 11:24-26 ESV
I can tell you from experience that he’s not right here but what I know me and my wife are now delivered from all that and our house is full of light our lamp isn’t just shining it does have oil.

Great topic Corey, my brother as well, but we must ask the question, how can a person whether Christian or not even get possessed by a demon in the first place?
And why would a demon want to possess a human?
Why is finding out a demon's motives that important?
Christ is our only hope and we have more enemies trying to destroy us than just the flesh
Be blessed brother

Sounds like you have a demon because you've taken ownership of a demon.

it's the people who's never been through deliverance themselves or do deliverance who say Christians can't have a demon.
@@hansmo8282 it’s the people who think the blood of Jesus needs extra work to sanctify a person that will end up in hell like Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23
@@jtmedena1 and those people end up in hell because they cast out demons? Read the text in context, sir.
@@hansmo8282 do you know they actually casted out demons? The scriptures said they only said that they did. Can you name a believer who had a demon in the Bible?
There are plenty of ministries that can test his position such as Hegewisch Baptist in Highland, Indiana pastored by Michael Therrier. Or the Ministry of Salvation in Oxford, New Jersey. lake Hamilton Bible camp in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Possession is a poor translation; it should be demonized, which means torment, afflict, oppress, etc.
Bro it's so many fake Christians out here, Pastors and everything.
I think PEOPLE can. Its kind of common sense to me. What makes a person exempt because of a title?
If you reject the commandments of YAHWEH and JESUS CHRIST, that Christian is influenced by the spirit of disobedience or seduced by spirits of doctrine of Devils. So Christians can be oppressd and eventually possessed by demonic spirits.
Catholicism is the spirit or demon that's possesses false believers like you Elder. You reject Sabbath & Passover sure sign of Satan.
Ephesians 2:2
past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
1 John Chapter 4
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 Timothy 4:1 says, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons"

Amen!!! And I can prove it, and they know I can 😊 only by the Holy Ghost a person can see, John 4:3
Can Trump and Biden sleep in the same hotel room?
Deliverance is needed for SO MANY! May the Lord come upon you and truly set you FREE for many minds are in bondage and self righteousness. Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.
Interesting my comments are deleted.
Wow. I get it with a plain reading of the Word. Hence, if people are confused on the issue with the plain English how is dropping Greek help??? 😂 😅 asking for a friend 😅
I consider myself a “Christian” because I follow after Christ. There is a possibility that some “Christians” will not receive Salvation. I would say that “Christians” can be possessed, but a true child of God, his sheep, no they are sealed with his mark. I believe this is where I believe deliverance gets it wrong aside from scripture that they have misjudged a “Christian” as a true child of God, his sheep. A truly, “Born Again” believer.
A “Christian” isn't a Christian by definition then. A Christian cannot be possessed.
I might try to catch your next1 Samuel 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. live stream and jump on.
Well, Yahua is not and never was & never will be in covenant with Christianity, sooooooo
No such thing if you received Christ.. people are always looking and calling people out . Listen and watch their actions then you might see one...lol
