Hi Robert, I've worked in the waste industry for some time now and I have a lot of experience with compost / industrial composting as well as landfills. You really hit the nail on the head, well done & keep up the great work :)
Hi David & Robert [I bet your garden book is loaded with great tips] Love gardening. Grandparents were Texas farmers. Experienced as continuous improvement coordinator in aerospace parts manufacturing for 4 years. The enterprise promotes composting for dummies [horrible term]...or rather for those impatient or busy. Could this be viewed as a +? Dehydration? Yes H²O harvested? 👍👎 Deodorizer? Yes Engaging folks to place dehydrated material in the garden? Yes Petroleum reduction? Potential Why was the comparison of product vs. garbage/recycle bin processing [taxpayer funded] not the focus of this video? Isn't that the crux?
A worm bin is better than an electric "composter". Take a tub, add worms, shredded paper and your food scraps. Even a small worm bin can deal with a small families food scraps with ease
ALOHA!! Your simple explanation of the truth vs marketing has saved me an additional appliance in my kitchen. I will continue to bury my food scraps in my garden. I am so glad I discovered this video before making a purchase I would have regretted.
As a scientist and microbiologist, I've wondered about how exactly lomi worked since I keep hearing the ads for it. It makes total sense that in most cases it does not benefit compared to regular composting! Thanks for sharing your breakdown, cheers.
I gave this a detailed review on Amazon and and refuted their outrageous claims. I seem to be in the minority. As I write this, 76% of reviews are five star and 14% are four star.
Ddduuuuuddddeee I've been following other gardening channels for years then I found yours. I found it particularly weird your subscriber count was low... then I see a video like this and realize why. You're not scamming people and giving a cut to the bigger scammers that have a monopoly on violence, the authoritarians.
Sorry to use this video to sugest analyzing other topic: can salt (sodium) in soil/water help plants be sweeter? And if so, which levels? For which palnts?can it help soil retain more water? This relates to agriculture in israel (and other places)with high saline levels in water... Tanks a lot for all your work here and in the blog and book. Its very very valuable.
How much do you need to compost for yourself? You would think that you would promote a product like this. You just seem to bash Lomi while promoting what? I have yet to see you show the cost of all the things you would need. I think you are telling a story to promote your products and nothing else. IMHO People that use Lomi at least try and do far better then people that just toss their food products into the trash, and there are way to many of them.

Thanks for another great vid. Hopefully it will keep a few people from making a very expensive mistake.
I soooo wanted one when they came out. Glad I couldn't afford one.

Lots of fools and paid scammers on Amazon.
Pela, the makers of Lomi, are a marketing machine. ua-cam.com/video/hHcXHZoH430/v-deo.html
They can not deal with facts. To emotional for that

If anyone remembers the Star Trek where aliens reduced the landing party to calcium and salt ... balls, .. that's a lomi
Thank you Robert.❄️💚🙃
So lomi sucks then. 👍🏻
Rule of thumb - if a product is hyped incessantly on tv/social media, stay away!
So, it's basically a dehydrator? And it claims to compost plastic????
yes
Lomi doesn't make sense. Food waste need moisture to fermentation.

can salt (sodium) in soil/water help plants be sweeter? - I doubt it.
@@Gardenfundamentals1 Thank You
I agree with you. I have not used one.
Lomi explicitly says not to put plastic in it.
Look how everyone hugs it close but talks so much shit about it .
I just skipped to the end - its Lomi, after all.
The Blomi device is a joke.
Just get chickens.
