Personally, hand axe is way better than Sabre. It is almost the same speed does 15+ damage than the Sabre and headshots can basically one shot.

I prefer the sabre for the range, makes it extremely difficult to be grabbed/hit while dealing good damage

​​@@veadri2497That's the trade-off, more damage vs the basic zombies but less to sappers. Luckily, both classes that can equip it have firearms (or pike) to handle the sappers if need be.
