Yay! i just watched your review. Thanks for the shout out again. Its always so cool to see and hang w/you guys. Ez and fun! I actually decided not to put the review on the ST out. My feelings were honestly a bit harsher. I felt the bike was confused. Loved the bump compliance, did not like the handling so much. So a few other things too, but yeah, definitely a great point to say that Harley is listening to their riders! :D
I think this model is a perfect touring solution for you Meg. Just add a tour pack and your all set. You could always get a set of hard bags for your bike as a solution too. It will add a great deal of additional carry to your road trips.
So..I have the 21 low rider s and I test rode this ST and I noticed a much better suspension and power over my 114..not sure if you didn’t open her up at all but this bike is significantly better in every than My 21..nice video
I haven't ridden a lot of Harleys but I did test drive a lowrider S with a stage 2 performance package. I liked the engine it seemed to have a lot of grunt, but the clutch was way too heavy for me especially for town riding and it turned kind of weird. I think it was that large diameter front wheel. Over all I liked it. If I ever find myself in your area again I would definitely like to have you for lunch.
Hey I am a first timer to your channel, ride days seem to be a big huge hassle. lots of standing around instead of walking in and jumping on and get going. I bought my 22 LRST site unseen. I relied of what vloggers said about it. Mid mounts are crap I now have boards a 10 inch screen which doesn't make the fairing wind any better. A new seat cause I must have a fat ass. All in all, though like alot of models the ST probably wasn't for you even though you made it look huge. To me its a softail with a fairing. I love the bags cause I can take more crap..I have a top box but need another mount to heighten it. Great unbiased review. As for the speedo..yeah I like th clock and gas gauge. and the digits are big enough to see..all th rest who cares. All I ever had was a speedo and odometer. The other stuff who needs it.
I like the st. Pretty good looking bike. If I was buying new today I don't think it would be my choice but I'd definitely be looking and thinking about it.
@@megsmotorcyclejourney we spend quality time with our bikes. It's ok to fall in love with them haha. Your low rider is pretty badass. I can see why you love it.
Good review. I want to get out and try this bike. I currently have a '18 heritage and feel it's the best of the softail lineup for touring with the bags and a nice fairing. Maybe not everyone's style but very funtional. Thanks for the review.
117 is only smidge more powerful than the 114. The difference is so slight I cant believe HD offers it on the CVO. Good for you for not drinking the 117 CI Fool-aid. I would hope HD can do better and offer a 121 on the CVO in 2023. It will interesting to see how big HD will make the V-Twin before they are forced to liquid cool it. The average age of the HD owners seems to keep going up. At what point will HD offer a reverse on the touring bikes?
great video despite the mounting issue , yeah nice looking bike but way to expensive for somebody like me. all my bikes together still wouldn't match their asking price. that's why i love the bikes i have,, they are all affordable 👍
Yeah apparently HD Vin locked, not the fairing but the bracket that the fairing mounts to the frame with. Some enterprising young fabricator could probably make a lot of money making that bracket if you can indeed buy the faring from HD. The digital gauge and clamshell bags would push me to buy the Lowrider S, a bracket and stock fairing and save a little over the $4-5 price difference between the S & ST.
I think this was a great review! Your honest about the differences from the S. You look fantastic on any bike so with that said yours is super hot looking!
Your bike is amazing Meg there's no way I'd trade that on a new one...the extra money u save u should do a s and s 475 cam, plate , and oil pump in your bike....it'll have extreme amount of power and it'll run cooler cause the sns oil pump is an elite part....your bike will sound awesome too...lol Camera man Mike should do the same for his bike...only andrews cams are the best for the twin cam 104...
@@megsmotorcyclejourney That's interesting. Because you're addressing the claim that the ST can "eat your bike for lunch"... When in reality, the difference in performance is marginal. There are a few aesthetic differences, but nothing so drastically noticeable to bring credence to the aforementioned claim, and also the sticker price of the ST.
Well that's when you upgrade your back brake and your kickstand and you're basically have that bike just different color of course that's what I do if it's possible
you're right about the price everything right now is ridiculous and the only way things will start to get more realistic in price is to show the companies as so though it might not be their fault diectly they can do something about it if they need to.
Keep your bike and keep taking care of it. It’s lasted all this time and mileage and well kept and maintained. Keep riding and enjoying it. Lots of trips and you 2 have enjoyed on it. Lots of great videos too. Keep it up. Ride Safe the 2 of you and everyone you all ride with.
I like your Low rider s so much better than this ST. If I got another Harley it would be like yours. One of the things I really don’t like about that new bike is the fairing. It looks like something from the 1980’s.
I view the ST as basically a merging of parts of the Sport Glide into the Low Rider S. And I think it’s butt ugly. I think they’d have had a better hit merging parts of the Low Rider S into the Sport Glide. The SG is super popular overseas. Most people that ride ‘em, love ‘em…including me.
Huh interesting. I didn’t love the sport glide because it had forward controls which are difficult for me. However perhaps if it had mid controls and the Low Rider S engine… great thoughts!
That a girl Meg stick with your baby you made her your own. No need to compare you low rider to any thing you love it, the bike runs good and it set up just the way you like it.
That big fairing blocks some of the air to the engine on the new bike. Plus the slightly bigger engine, that’s where the heat comes in running hotter. You did look good on it. Great review.
The fairing vents actually direct air to the engine and therefore improve the cooling - everyone is entitled to their opinion but the ST actually has a lot of plus points over the similarly priced S including improved suspension and ride height. In this case Meg prefers her modified 114 S and I can't disagree that for her it makes no sense to change.
🛑🛑 Neg…the 117, when “cut loose”, like pipes, tune and breather would be much more impressive if you were to ride with that set up. I thought with all your traveling, you would have had more to say about the Saddlebags; with more room to travel with items🤷♂️. If you want to spend money in the direction “of performance” to put your bike on par with the ST; try updating your Cam Chest in you 114. 💯 Good Riding to you guys. 😀👍

I rode this bike last Sunday. I was a little cramped. But I did like it.
Thanks Meg that's the first ride I saw from a Maryland dealer. I was beginning to think nobody was doing demo and reviews from Maryland!

I’ve heard so many people love their heritage. The reason I haven’t been keen to try one is the forward controls.
@@megsmotorcyclejourney I think they're a bit more mid than forward but worth trying out. Comfortable bike but all the softail models are fun to ride.
Your dash is nice and it changes the whole profile.
Good video ! I’ve been wanting to test ride one for the longest did a review on one but dealership sold it before I could ride it
I tried to go back and test ride one again for better footage and no dealer that had one would let me. Thank you for watching!

Should’ve used the go pro mount that bunny uses. Seems like it would work similarly.

you would notice the difference on a long 2 week ride just because of the bigger fairing .

How tall are you? You looked like you fit the ST well. I’m thinking about getting one. I’m 5’6

If I did an expensive upgrade- it would be pipes and a fuel tuner or suspension.
1100 to 1200 rpm is normal idel
