In terms of knock ups and jumps, it’s only a visualization. The game uses just x and y axis, basically 2D. I think when voli got knocked up, his actual location and location on screen were slightly different. I think the return damage, tho late still, ended up triggering at his xy location instead of his midair position. That’s why Trist can’t jump over Cait traps. There are other examples to this or similar. Perhaps you knew this but didn’t realize. Hope it helped anyway
