I really like how this song almost feels non-threatening in a similar way to how Rewrite looks. Yeah, it's moody, it's a little creepy, but compared to a lot of other takes on the exe formula Rewrite and this song both feel tame and almost a little goofy. The slow and simple nature of the song, the plodding synth "horns" sound kind of funny, Rewrite's vocals are much more melodic and less intimidating than most exe's, and especially that "I AM GOD" line is delivered in such a way that's borderline impossible to take seriously. Rewrite looks a little uncanny, but for the most part he looks like less of an overt threat than most villains in this area, and BF battles against him perfectly normally, no gimmicks aside from the increased speed at the end. I don't know if it was intended or not, but it almost feels like Rewrite is deliberately playing into it. Like he's deliberately putting on this facade where he doesn't seem all _that_ scary, and even seems kind of funny in a cheesy sort of way, to lull the player into a false sense of security. Like, it feels at first like he's sincerely trying to seem scary but isn't quite reaching the mark and ends up just looking like any other attempt at the newest creepy Sonic OC. Then Trinity rolls around as the next song and pits you up against the more classic .exe villains, and even in that song when Rewrite initially appears he seems very goofy and non-threatening, with a very slow and simple part of the song compared to the others and exaggerated, off-kilter poses-only for Rewrite to completely flip it on its head by breaking the FNF rules and attacking BF directly, speaking to the player, and finally revealing that he was actually the one disguised as/controlling the other 3 the whole time. If that was the intention then hats off to the idea, it's a good one. Everyone likes to point out Lord X for his awareness of the fourth wall and the player, but Rewrite takes it in a whole different way by initially deliberately playing into the angle of "the Sonic.exe thing is so overdone these days that nobody really finds it scary any more" and I think that's really clever.

Not every song has to be this cavalcade of intensity and fast pace, I like the songs like this one that go for a different vibe. Rewrite is a really cool concept and I'm excited to see what else might be done with him.

He gives me a bill cipher vibe, where he knows just how powerful he is and only is patient enough to deal with you because he feels like it and hes bored. Like he straight up takes the normal EXE villains souls and makes them do his bidding. Not to mention he is the only .exe to actually specifically target the player, which frankly in of itself is kind of wierd but interesting to note.

Combine the sprite quality of the pseudo-3D games with the hardly separated eyeballs, and this mod delves deep into the uncanny valley. This song just feels off, fitting for the aesthetic and character design.

based on the mods description, i like to think rewrite realized one day the Hyperrealistic Blood Eyes werent scary so he got rid of them bc, well, they werent scary and he knew/knows he can do better w/ a legitimately creepy stare speaking of legitimately creepy, thats what this song is and i LOVE it. it has such a palpable feeling of dread. ur in rewrites domain, he IS god here. amazing work, it gives such a good idea abt what my boy seems to b abt and i wanna learn more abt him. the no good motif is also a nice touch!
Finally an unsettling OC without fangs, sharp teeth, or demonic stuff, the nature of the oc looking old and looking like he's on crack kinda makes it so unsettling, he looks OFFICAL, but not at the same time the more you pay attention
He does have some demonic stuff on him (for example his Horn shaped ears, and his wings in Trinity.) But that stuff you don't really see at first until you take a closer look. He's the literal definition of "Hiding in plain sight"

I like this song much better than Trinity. Don't get me wrong, Trinity is great and has some really good ideas with a very well done and somewhat unnerving execution (no pun intended), and of course nails the lyrical segment on the head- but it's just like most other .EXE songs in that regard, with lots of fast paced challenging segments and tons of different events through the song. What I like about Thriller Gen more is that it's the antithesis of every EXE song up to this point, it's completely unique and dare I say scary. It feels like it would be an actual song linked to an actual creepypasta. There's no sense of intensity or action to it, it's slow and careful, almost disturbing in a way, and leaves you staring at that empty polygonal face longer- especially with that break in the middle where neither of you are doing anything. It definitely highlights the uncanny nature of Rewrite, allowing you to notice just how many things are off about the model- my personal favorite of which being the ears looking almost like demonic horns of some sort. But I think the greatest part about this song is the harmonic "I am god" bit. It's not in your face like Too Slow or- hell, even Trinity- if you're not paying attention, it could easily sound like the chromatic since it blends in so well. But if you are listening, when you hear it, combined with the sudden, unexpectedly fluid animation of Rewrite turning to look at you, it feels... wrong. Like it's not supposed to happen, like it isn't supposed to even be there, which is exactly what any good EXE song should feel like. Not even mentioning the other 'form' it gains for a while, where it completely shifts its color palette to one color, and transforms its pupils to soulless (not saying that they weren't already), realistic, out of place, and unsettling eyes. I love the idea of it gradually getting scarier as time goes on, with it starting off semi-simple--I don't know if quite literally breaking the fourth wall to KILL boyfriend is simple--to having that 'form' that it temporarily enters to scare the player. Nominal Dingus takes this even further, having Rewrite obtain two more forms, each resembling the base form it takes up and the other, more creepy form, but gargantuan, with each having four arms instead of two, each with one ring. Overall, Rewrite is a VERY intriguing in all aspects.

The uncanny valley isn't exactly a thing the .exe group really goes into, and this one is probably the best way to do it, a sonic that looks very simple and basic, but makes you very uncomfortable as it stares at you. It puts you on edge more than "hehefunnybloodieyemoment"
