@@nahlabazile6994 true, the way he plays isn't really something for beginners. Even when a riff ain't that hard to pull off, to put the same kind of energy as Hendrix in it is hard to master...
It’s not that hard to play good, but to master it is very hard. Plus he never played the same song twice, always improving. Songs like Pali Gap show how good he really was
Hendrix saw the guitar as an extension of an acoustic guitar. In other words he saw it as a piece of technology. He wanted to create textures not just playing notes ect. His genius lies right there turning a usually comping instrument to an up front snorting, fire breathing dragon.
Hey brother,..I love your passion for Jimi's music. I heard him at 18 years old and 2 years later put down the drums and picked up the guitar to try and figure out what he was doing. That was 52 years ago and I still can't stop playing and listening to him. You are an awesome teacher and a fine ass player. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
The first thing I fell in love with (back in my first week of college in '74) was the Hendrix in the West record, mainly Little Wing and Johnny B. Goode. My mind was thoroughly blown.
When I first listened to Jimi. I came home from school asked my dad if he could buy me a guitar. Bought me one that same day. 10 years later and I'm still playing guitar. Own 10 different guitars now

Jimi's "All Along the Watchtower" is the best cover song ever. Period!
If Jimi Hendrix did a Cover of your Song, it's not longer your Song.
True! And srv's cover of little wing amd johnny cash's cover of hurt are close seconds :)
Hard to argue with that. The guitar work on that song was genius level. A work of art.
