38:25 spot on. You had one kid and think I’m never doing it again. Then after a few years you find a happy spot and think oh hey let’s do it again.. then realize too late you’re back in parent hell again.
There seems to have been little thought put into how humans in the real world would actually DO this transformation. The cockpit part you need to push tabs into slots, but the slots are on panels that fold away from you, and there's no way to get your thumb in behind them. Even with the best tolerances in the world, that's going to be a pain in the ass. Also, I get the aerialbots confused under the best of circumstances and with this set they're all going to be silver? I honestly spent the first few minutes of this thinking bobby had already done this guy.
This is a perfect example of how paint can go a long way. For a lot of characters, colour scheme is their identifiable quality. Constructicons aside, I'd argue that little-kid-me wouldn't have known who was who in black and white but it's the grays, blacks, reds, whites, blues, oranges, etc. that helped, and to this day are pretty damn staple. Give some hodge-podge silver jet robot man and colour him red, and I'll tell you that's a Fireflight.
My god man, I'm puckered up watching you transform it. I had to take a break before I pinched a hole in the upholstery... Great video, very entertaining!
I broke the same part on the chest piece. It was flimsy as all hell and the plastic clipping on to the pole was doo doo. Good thing this piece is barely seen and is mostly cosmetic. Love the content keep up the great work :)
You can see the stress and tension in Bobby’s Thumbs 🤣 Looks like he wants to take a bat to that thing. “Too Toon” and NOW “Over Stylized” gone are the days of a definitive masterpiece. Bright side, money saved in my pocket.
I have both these figures. My non verbal autistic granddaughter grabbed them, beat them together, and threw them on the floor. They survived that. They're tough. I agree that the 1st one seems better made than the 2nd, but that's because the second one takes more patience and fairly precise placement of parts to work. It works and is solid in the end though.
Man, I feel the frustration. I save transforming 3rd party MP figures for the weekend. Because I get ate up on something every time. It helps to have that luxury when dealing with these things. I can hear how close to done you are with this figure. Especially after the break. Here's hoping combined mode makes this set worth while.
With the Cang Predacons, you can still tell who's who thanks to their vastly different alt modes; not the case here, and it's frankly a deal breaker. Which sucks, because these look amazing. I just wish they at least kept the general colors as accents and the headsculpts. I still don't know which one the first one was supposed to be.
Great looking figure, great articulation. If these guys get anywhere close to their sales targets I can 100% see a traipsing release with a G1 paint job and new heads.
BSF - with how this has gone and how FT is seeming to have issues as well. Is there a line in the sand where getting 3 modes from 1 figure no longer viable or worth while? What if we got 1 vehicle/figure and 1 vehicle/combiner limb? I know defeats the purpose, but the flipside is lackluster as well.
The cockpit canopy and nosecone look absolutely delicious but I feel your pain. I'm just not down for the whole 'puzzle challenge' engineering, especially when it's exacerbated by poor fitment and tolerances.
Some serious tolerance issues. Great looking figures, but with QC issues like this one has, sort of zeroes out the positives. Thanks for the look Bobby. That transformation looked like a bear to do.
26:28 oh, it's an F-16. That must mean this is Sky Dive :-) I love F-16's. Any TF that transforms into one gets an automatic Interested from me. However, the intent for these is to be pretty realistic F-16's and, uh, it ain't: the wings are too small, this results in a incorrect huge gap between the main wings and the tailwing, and the tailfin is ridiculously tiny. If it had been more accurate as it's trying to be, then I would've tolerated the unrecognisable robot and the fiddly transformation and gotten it just for being an F-16.
Nailed it Bobby although I feel you've gone easy on the first bot. Transformation was utter dog poop so lord knows how bad this would be. Deff feel your rage tho!
Light up eye features suck. No one comes home from work, cracks open a beer and walks around their collection turning on all of those annoying buttons. Take a look at the eyes on fanstoys spindrift. They look great without any of that nonsense.
It's just too good looking to pass up on clearance, which it will eventually get that price drop once all these reviews come out. At the very least it wasn't a Beast Wars figure so Bobby at least sounded engaged, so that's a super plus!
Well I mean the name would indicate it's Skydive, but he looks *NOTHING* like the character... It's odd watching this set compared to the Cang Toys stuff with their Predaking. At bare minimum the Predacons had some of the characters that looked like what their G1 counterpart did with cues from the source, these just look somewhat like the TFC (?) original jet/robot character they did a short time ago.
New to your channel and man watching you transform stuff is so painful. 😂 never seen anyone else have the same struggles with this or the fan toys jive you reviewed recently. The way you mash things together doesn’t help. Maybe transform off screen and link to a friend who has recorded the transformation sequence? 😂 I agree these aren’t fun to transform but have so much beautiful detail, just transform them very slowly and calmly then don’t touch it and they’re great. Lol I appreciate the unfiltered honesty of your experiences that you share though!
Yikes… that just doesn’t look anyway enjoyable of transformation to any mode, I love intricate transformations but this is just not good, in my personal opinion
I actually don't mind if it's way to far, way to close or in the middle of the original cartoon design. As long as the materials, paint, overall engineering and look in all modes are good I'm happy with it. I'm not a big transformers fan, I'm a big action figure and TF action figure fan so I pick and choose the ones I like best. This set is turning out good so I'm happy with it, I'm also very happy to own the FT version (more like I will be happy when it finally gets released). I agree that the transformation is a bit panely and involved but if you make sure all parts are tightly flushed and tabbed in properly it becomes easy enough to be enjoyable. Can you take constructive criticism Bobby?!!! I like to hear you speak, I also like your sense of humor, your sense of community and your theory crafting abilities. I like your family, your friends, the relationship you all have and the way you share all that with us, your viewers. I also have a lot of respect for your personal opinion when it comes to collectibles, specially TF action figures. I understand the "Truth" and I know you already spend loads of time with your channel in detriment of some very important things in your life but due to lack of preparation (which can be very time consuming) you often ignore articulation points or range and mistransform the figures. I know this is your channel and your opinion but you know you're the worst when it comes to transformations, you don't like to understand how the transformation works you rather try to sort of wing it and you have no patience whatsoever. In the end that will affect both your opinion as well as your viewers opinion regarding the item that is being reviewed. In the end it all comes down to why ppl collect TF action figures, the play/display battle. You want to play with your TF action figures, you want to display them or you want a bit of both? That answer will help you choose your collectibles a bit better. In my opinion some of these higher end TF action figures aren't meant to be played with, manipulated yes but not played with. They need to be handled with time, patience, care and above all knowledge. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface. P.S. I'm 100% with on the light gimmicky eyes as well as the light piping eyes... they shouldn't be used on grown up collectibles that may be used as display pieces. P.S.1. I was under the impression you though this was supposed to be another arm but it's actually a leg. P.S.2. I heard some collectors complaining about QC issues regarding the thickness on some of the tabs, maybe your copy shared those QC issues which in turn influenced your transformation experience in a negative way.
Good, I just say,, No" to this set from start. Very nice combiner look, colors and design did not look bad to me ( heads maybe be better), but after looking at how much junk is on combiner mode, and no added parts for it - just pass.
I imagine Bobby's pillow talk is something like "girl, I'm gonna make sweet, sweet love to you. But first... let's take a look at accessories".
Yoooooo! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The full Monty . . . . the full Van Damm
"Okay, I'll clean it up a bit and then we can have a look at it".
😂😂😂😂😂😂

12:33 - Bobby breaks the toy. 15:15 - the toy breaks him.
Even Mangmotion tore this thing a new one. I'm surprised Bobby even gave it a shot. Robert D might be the most sadistic friend ever, LOL

This appears to be the type of figure that would take me to the brink of insanity.

Me too, almost right away. Yeah, liked Slingshoot but after this one I’m done with this company.
These flaps were made for flippin, and that's just what they'll do.
Reminds me of Chevy Chase in Lampoons. You start psychotic laughing or ranting when it breaks or fits into place. But you still pull through lol.
You can see the stress and tension in Bobby’s Thumbs 🤣

the wife analogy.. time passes and you have more kids... pure gold yeah!😆

This design aesthetic strikes me as being inspired by the Bumblebee movie more than G1.
Not really a fan of the fig, but man, you are nailing it with your thumbs, Pure FIRE!!
If you like origami, grab a box of wine.
the laugh at 15:12 is priceless
That's a good friend right there 😁
Brother I feel your pain. I don't know if I want to get this set now 🤔. Be blessed

Bobby, i've broken more new figures in the past six months than i did in my whole life. Would it be a good subject for a sit down saturday?
Ask him on patreon, that's where you'll see it on SDS if your idea comes to fruition.
I can't imagine trying to combine them all. The combined mode is almost Bayverse adjacent.
Well that was entertaining!

This was an adventure.
Looking forward to the after thoughts on this one.
Bobby "even duuuuuuumber" Face!
I just bought this to. Damn it lol

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH skydive mixed with air raid ???
Please always use sassy Starscream for your comparisons. Please.

Bummer. On many accounts.
How is it that a Legends scale set of Aerialbots can do better transformations than this set.

Cang toys Predaking is bad enough...this thing is just Gar Bidge
easy pass for me
Idk why would people even buy this thing
Nope, 100% nope. Yikes.
