Spending way too much money on Sentosa Island’s attractions | Simon Says

- I still don”t like tourist stuff... But it was time once more for me to bite that bullet and take the familly out on an “easy” day of front-desk brochure tourist traps. It is probably fair to say that if Marina Bay is the number one spot for tourist attractions in Singapore, Sentosa Island is a close second.
So here we are - a cable-car ride to-and-fro; Mme Tusseaud’s wax museum, Sentosa’s Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom, Hard Rock Cafe, and of course, I coulnd’t pass on the opportunity to check out the S.E.A Aquarium.
Good times! Cheers from Singapore!

The last one..the Bruce Lee flying kick on you is Epic!!🤣🤣🥇🥇💪💪👏👏👍👍
😄 Uncle Bruce still got it!
For a less "touristy" spot on Sentosa, you can try Fort Siloso
It's an old fort from the colonial era, really historical and is widely know in part due to the fall of Singapore during WW2. Most of our big guns were Stationed there facing the south aka the sea while the Japanese invaded from the North
Also, if out happens this year, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios is a local favourite, full of original ideas and themed around local stories, really different from the American ones. Locals flock there every Halloween
Yeah, I’ve explored Sentosa a bit more on my own (avoiding attractions!) and I’ve stumbled upon a bunch of destroyed forts and other hidden marvels. Fort Silloso is on my short-list of must-do - will have the less touristy content out shortly!
I have been looking out for your video, glad saw the latest recorded one today.
Glag you enjoyed!
Love this video & commentary. TQ Simon.
I am local but missed Sentosa & SEA Aquarium. My last visit there was in 2017.
Once a while our pocket burnt(spending) exploring at this places but it's quite worthwhile visit. No pain No gain.
Wouldn’t go every weekend, but maybe once a year, it’s fun enough!
Wow! Your video is so interesting, humorous and entertaining............ great stuff. And what a beautiful family, wonderful locations and activities.
Thank you very much, happy you enjoy!
Lol you make me laugh the way you talk about sharks etc. It's that sarcasm or like those little things you say. Love it.
Glad to entertain! There’s always a fair bit of effort going into these!
@@SimonSaysCanada i can tell. Great work.
Just loved your commentary.
Thanks!
Waited too long for the next adventure... Another great video, good job.
Sorry to keep you waiting!
@@SimonSaysCanada lol... no apologize needed
Beautiful family you've there! Keep it coming!
Wait - keep what coming? Videos or kids - because the latter is NOT happening! 😄
Haha Good one! Keep the kids at 2 is fine though more is merrier. Unlimited videos then.
Another great video and how you still manage to crack me up with your monologue lol
Maybe I am one of few who find humor in it?
Have a great evening, best regards abram
Well, I certainly hope that many more people find the humor in, well, my humor!! If not, you and me are hopeless! 😄
The old joke used to be Sentosa stood for "so expensive nothing to see anyway" 😂
Haha! Well, the aquarium is nice!
Nice video with nice narration. If the kids are happy, it’s money well spent.
I probably could’ve spent it elsewhere and make them as happy, but oh well! Had to learn for myself about the money-grabbing machine that is Sentosa! 😁
A good video with entertaining narrations
I hope you can visit Osaka aquarium someday. You'll love it.
Yeah! This one has been on my radar for a long-ass time!!
Would love to see you film and do a bungee jump! 😁
Yeah, I saw that platform... I’ll probably do it at some point!
Thanks for sharing the part about coconut and sharks :)
It’s true!!! 😁 But sharks are scary, and coconuts are not.
Good video Simon! Kind of rekindled my memory years back when I brought my kids there, happy that you enjoyed visiting those attractions! Coincidentally, I will be releasing a new video about Sentosa soon, haha!
A paddle board adventure, I hope? 😁 I got another Sentosa video in the works - I tried to hike the entire island on foot and avoid the tourist attractions to get a different feel for the place!
@@SimonSaysCanada Yes, please do! The entire west side incl Fort Siloso WW2 museum is very interesting.
I went on paddle board. Even though it can also be done on foot, SUPing is more flexible (when it comes to exploring the coastal line), as I don't have to worry about tidal condition that much.
Awesome entertainment with your commentary. 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video!
TY!
Mysterious underwater world!👍💪👏
Simonnnn ur stuff is stupendous mannnn...why not reach out to disney n collab
good video.
Nice closing shot with Bruce 🤣
My chin still hurts...
Thank you Simple Simon between you and Richard ... Singapore is seen and told as it is No Hype and SHIT!!!
Great video. Did you get to see the Peacocks that roam freely on the island?
I didn’t! They must’ve known we were coming and opted to hide...
感谢分享 🌹🏮
Thanks. You made me laugh.
Good! More cheer is what we all need 😁 !
Yes, we had a good time. Good video, again!😃
Thank you, again!
Btw,Nice new titel (daddy sharks) lol
Oh, I wouldn’t DARE infringe on these guys’ copyrights!
Nice video
Thank you!
You're fun, and funny
Too kind!
There's really nothing to see and do in Singapore aside from Sentosa, Garden by the Bay and Universal Studios.
You must be kidding... You must!
@@SimonSaysCanada Uhhmmm... No.
Everything in Singapore is naturally artificial.
Guessing your new to this channel, then!
@@SimonSaysCanada I am but been to Singapore several times for work and I had a lot of time to spare. Nothing is amusing.
Look, I respect if you're enjoying/enjoyed the place. I feel the opposite and there's no point in dragging this conversation.
You are indeed entitled to your own opinions, no argument there! It’s just that most videos I make are about the relatively unknown fun things to do around SG, that are not Marina Bay or Sentosa.
Not arguing! Just providing a bit more context is all.
Cheers!
you should definitely go to the night safari! went there for the first time 2 days ago for my birthday and it was honestly amazing, its so much better than the zoo and really worth the price (I barely paid for it tho cos I used the vouchers the government provided lol). The tram ride includes access to free range areas, id suggest taking it later at night when the animals are more active, I actually rode on it twice, when I arrived and before I headed home haha.
I know, I’ve been there and it’s amazing - but my cameras are TERRIBLE in low-light conditions, so it would make for an atrocious mess of a video if I ever make one... But it’s super cool!
The Malayan tiger let out a hugs roar when we passed by. More bass in that voice than an IMAX theatre!
Ye Sentosa's costs are crazier than the Singapore Zoo
I know, right? And ALOT of it is less cool than the Zoo, but I didn’t spend time filming or editing them in here
The farms are a great place too but its a tad bit remote
Wait... Are there actual farms on Sentosa?
. . . Ops I meant singapore
Ah! Okay, makes sense now. I have hiked every inch of Sentosa so far, and you had me doubt myself there for a second...!
Your next adventure beckons - ua-cam.com/video/nPXGtbMnoJ4/v-deo.html. Glad that you are enjoying your stay in Singapore. Enjoy :)
What a cool video. CNA makes really cool documentaries - this is the type of stuff I wish I could do!
👍💪👏
😊✌️
Beach is free too
Yes - but lounging on a beach makes for less interesting videos!
@@SimonSaysCanada haha. I believe u can make boring into excitement! Haha. There’s some trail at the Siloso or west side area.
Anyway love ur video!
Thanks for watching!
Oh i love going to Singapore and not spend a lot. I can do Sentosa for Free.
I think I prefer spending some money in Sentosa. It’s designed to be more enjoyable that way!
I've visited the aquarium once. It's good, but after seeing the dolphins, I decided not to go back again.
Yeah, I opted to not highlight this, but I agree... Whales, orcas and dolphins din’t belong in tanks...
@@SimonSaysCanada if you want to know the plight of the Resorts World Sentosa dolphins, google "SPCA urges RWS to release dolphins after fourth death". Hope that gives you a better idea.
Yeah, I read up on it since. Didn’t know there were dolphins there before going. There is a hellish place in Canada called “Marine-land” and they are THE WORST when it comes to caring for sea mammals....
My wallet didn't speak to me for some time, since our last trip to Sentosa. 😅
You still have a wallet? They took mine as payment fo all the oxygen we used that day :P
@@SimonSaysCanada
I guess since you have a family of four, and I'm just myself, so I used less oxygen.
Hence I still get to keep my wallet. 😆
Can walk into Sentosa then take the free tram out for free
Yeah but come on, the cable car is much more epic!

Now that I have your attention after binging several funny videos :)
Would you move to Singapore at the current time for a salary below 5000 SGD as a guy around 30?
I want to return after a shorter spell a few years back - but maybe timing/salary could be better?
Excuse my excruciating lack of self-assertion.
Wait 5k or 50k ? Just to be sure… Cause 5k, NAH! 50k, you could make it work, but it would probably be hard living
@@SimonSaysCanada 5k a month :p Sorry, European mindset
Yeah, that still on the low-end in SG. Rent was 4/month for me! 😱
SENTOSA = So Expensive Nothing T0 See Also.
Simonnnn ur stuff is stupendous mannnn...why not reach out to disney n collab
Because even though looks can be deceiving, I am in fact not a Princess
