Learning that Buggy actually believed in Shanks & wanted to follow him, until Shanks gave up on his dream of finding OP kinda hits the feels. Makes their relationship so much deeper. Also T-Bone wastje extremely kind nlbut scary looking marine that Zoro defeated on the train rails before Enies Lobby.
Buggy felt betrayed, he left his dreams to support Shanks, he felt that Shanks would be the next king of the pirates because he felt unworthy seeing that Shanks was becoming a prodigy every time, that Roger himself supported him and suddenly Shanks tells Buggy that he would not go to Lasgh Tale. It was like feeling that I was going to give everything to help you and you reject it. Now Buggy feels motivated because he sees himself in the same condition as Shanks because both are Younks.
That's what fascinated me about the buggy, honestly.❤
When Buggy did his declaration to go for the One Piece in the manga a year ago, I was reading it while waiting on a traffic light. I never shouted as loud and I never cried as much. Buggy is the second pirate that I want to find the One Piece. His will moves me.

This is the “betrayal” buggy meant when he talked about Shanks.
It’s not even about the treasure map & the fruit, that’s just an excuse. Buggy was willing to follow Shanks, but he felt betrayed and disappointed that Shanks wasn’t going for the One Piece. Buggy respected and loved Shanks as much as he loved his Captain.

Idk about that 😂 and maybe you are right with the betrayal, but is not like buggy was always affective with shanks to say that he was willing to follow him or that the treasure map and the fruit was an excuse 😂

They are brothers who grew up together, fought together, laughed together, and were truly members of Roger's Pirate family, with a deep love for each other. It may not be stated in the script, but it’s clear that Buggy appreciated Shanks for staying with him during his fever and not leaving him alone. The proof of this is when Buggy said, "You said it!"-indicating he was listening. Buggy may have felt some envy towards Shanks' potential and admits that he gave up on his own dreams while watching Shanks be favored by Roger. This suggests that Buggy believed Shanks was the one destined to carry on Roger's will and had high hopes for him. That’s why Buggy was so disappointed and frustrated that Shanks is not pursuing this path.
His question, "Why, after all this time?" reflects that if Shanks had asked Buggy to join him in seeking the One Piece back then, Buggy would have agreed, as he never had confidence in surpassing Shanks. But now that he is a Yonko alongside Shanks, as he says, "I'm on equal footing," Buggy has gained the confidence to finally pursue his own dream, which he had once given up.
Plus come on, a treasure map and a fruit as a grudge for over 24 years? Nah dude, that’s just an excuse. Buggy wouldn’t even remember this conversation if it wasn’t about the so-called "betrayal." It’s more about his high hopes and expectations for Shanks, who didn’t follow Roger’s "will." Buggy had passed on his own dreams to Shanks, and he felt so let down.

It felt nice just hearing Mihawk ask Buggy about fighting Blackbeard, Red-Haired, and Straw Hat. It's nice knowing that Mihawk acknowledges the strength of the Straw Hats as a threat like Red-Hair Pirates.
Most people forgot T-Bone, he was in the Sea Train, but he lost to Zoro; I thought he fell in the sea. Buggy has both good and bad luck. I think Sabo’s new voice fits him, but Dragon’s voice doesn’t, I kinda miss young Dragon’s voice, he sounds like Kakashi

So i'm gonna be honest and i'm not gonna be harsh towards Dragon voice actor BUT Toei just need to let the VA have some rest. They need to find some replacement for Dragon's VA and he is almost 90 years old. Let the VA for Dragon have some rest

This ep made me respect Buggy so much after being the token gag character for so long his convo with Shanks gives so much context to his character love that Oda finally fleshed out his goals
Shanks is going for the One Piece now. What he meant before when he was a kid, he said he wasn't going for it at that point in time. It's a mystery why he decided to make his move and go for the one piece now after all these years . Some are speculating that it's because Shanks knew he had to wait for Joyboy to awaken before going after it
Buggy saying "we have never been to laugh tale for some reason" is funny because bro is the one that got sick
She is right Shanks meant that he won’t go in for at this point means the same thing at this time because when he saw Luffy‘s awakening and devil fruit On the wanted poster he said it’s time to go get the one piece. I personally believe that Luffy awakening the fruit is a key piece needed for the one piece and battle with the world.

Nah she's right, there's no difference between "at this point" and "at this time" here. Especially in the context of a translation where the translators don't even have all the context. Never overanalyse linguistic details like that unless you know the original Japanese meaning perfectly and the context too and even if we knew the former, we don't really know what Shanks' plan involve so we don't have the latter.
Especially since he probably hasn't changed his mind about going after the One Piece, I mean he said he was going after it a few episodes before that, he just changed his mind on going after it *immediately after Roger's execution*, so everything you said about what "at this time" means is probably closer to the actual truth, which showcases the danger of overanalysing, especially when it's not even the original text.
And yes completely agree with you on Buggy having the power to charm people and bring them together. The funny thing is that Mihawk is the one who talked about this first in relation to Luffy and now he's working for Buggy who has a similar ability. And no matter how violent he and Croc are, they are dancing to Buggy's tune right now. Buggy is the first man to make Mihawk sweat xD Fitting I guess considering Buggy's fruit is Mihawk's counter, that Buggy's personality would also manage to pull one over Mihawk.

Buggys crew will become the king of the pirates atleast temporarily as the continued gag. If you think about it his crew literally represents wealth, fame and power. Crocodile has the wealth to reward the bounty system on the marines and finance their military. Mihawk has the power to literally defeat any swordsmen as well as most other opponents. Buggy has the fame to recruit and inspire countless weaker pirates who otherwise wouldnt rebel against the world government and he has the infamy which will put fear into the hearts of the marines. It doesnt matter that hes a fraud and a clown. As we see here it still has a major effect on regular citizens and marines!!! Thats all fame and infamy is needed for!!! The three of them together have the wealth, fame and power tk become the King of the pirates!!! I love it.

Btw Mihawk once said about luffy that he has the MOST DANGEROUS power in the world... the ability to recruit people to his side IE Whitebeard (literally the strongest character at the time) and the whitebeard pirates, the Okama, revolutionaries, etc... And what have we seen Buggy do constantly? That same exact ability, in fact he managed to get hawk-eye as a subordinate as well.... Buggy can totally get the One Piece first or start being called King of the Pirates before Luffy is, especially if Oda has us dealing with shanks or blackbeard, meanwhile buggy is off sneakily obtaining the One Piece and spreading word of his greatness. And on top of that, if Buggy becomes King of the Pirates, both Crocodile and Mihawk get their wishes granted. Then it'll be a matter of protecting that status hence setting us up for that Zoro vs Mihawk fight. (It would also be cool if Buggy awakens his fruit, and can split other objects. I can totally see Gear 5 luffy being like wtf? split into a bunch of little pieces, or perhaps buggy does some insane crap like split the ocean, or even the grand line, or even atoms thus creating nuclear buggy balls)

Honestly, for various reasons, there are actually a lot of fans (myself included) who think that Buggy is just as likely to become the pirate king as Luffy at this point. It’s honestly anyone’s game, and this chapter did a fantastic job at showing that Buggy honestly needs this more than Luffy does. Like, Luffy gets to go on a journey with friends and be free, he wants the title but he doesn’t need it narratively. As he said to Sanji, it’s more about becoming King with his friends at this point anyways, but Buggy gave up on his dreams and has gone down a darker path since then, only now managing to pull himself back up. Luffy will definitely see the One Piece and maybe even have it, but it’s possible that once he gets what he wants, he might just give up the title. It would be in character for the guy. Honestly I’m low key kinda rooting for Buggy to find it with the SH Crew.
I swear if Buggy ends up King of the pirates I'm officially retiring from watching anime, I like Buggy he's funny but if he ends up at the top at the end like he ended up Emperor and leader of Cross Guild I'm going to Japan and have a small talk with eichiro oda aka messi of football

I really liked this episode. I loved the way they adapted Buggy’s declaration of going after the One Piece. And Sabo’s new voice actor started this episode. I don’t remember what the old one sounded like but the new person sounds good. Fun fact: The name of the girl in the cow print headscarf is Moda. She’s a milkmaid. Not only did Bello Betty save her during a private attack during the Reverie but in the manga, she’s a player in Ace’s cover story on his search for Blackbeard. So she’s now linked to both Ace and Sabo.
