I really identify with the tip about eating more small meals during the day. I've been told that people with IBS should have a snack or small meal every 2 or 3 hours as this will prevent flare ups and keep digestive tract active and "awake"
I have a hard time controlling my snacking, especially before/after diner or in the morning, at work. I always feel like I'm hungry but once I start, I can't stop after just a couple crackers and if there's something yummy nearby, I'm doomed lol I'm going to finish the whole box, even if it is family size one. That's why I try to not have anything I would like to snak on in the house/in my desk, too risky!
Yes, I totally get that once you've started, you can't stop feeling! x
Buy a peppermint or liquorice tea (something strong but def not fruity). Set yourself a snack, and then after have the tea, it'll fill your tummy up more and put a strong flavour in you mouth that would make anything else after taste funny and so put you off.
Yayy my tip is in there. Brush your teeth! Not only does it stop snacking it keeps your teeth nice and clean!
Definitely gonna try it!! x
Peggy is the happiest dog! Adorable
I'd choose a cuddle with Peggy over a snack any day 😍 what a cutie. Thanks for sharing those tips Becky xx
Haha me too! No problem fellow Rebecca! x
You describe me perfectly. Thanks for the help.
I was like "gasp, you can eat an APPLE? "
I agree to every single thing you said about snacking. snacking is a very big problem for me. I see a dietitian to get on track with my ibs-c and constant snacking. I call it stress-snacking because i tend to snack when i need control and need to "get in contact with myself" - which the snacking obviosly doesn't solve. So i am trying to confront myself every time i snack and ask myself why i am doing it and what outcome i actually want from the snacking. i also try to replace the snacking with meditation and yoga, which actually helps me a lot because i feel like i am kind of strengthening the contact between my thoughts and stomach. I also snack a lot just before i leave the house because i "fear" that i will get hungry and tired later and won't have anything to eat. I am trying to tell myself that there is nothing wrong about being a bit hungry, but this is still a very big problem for me.
I've recently stopped snacking. I'm having three substantial meals a day and nothing inbetween I'm not really dieting. If I do feel like a snack I'll have a cake, biscuit or something mid afternoon. I don't eat after 5.30pm
NO SNACKING TIP... ❣❤❤ Brush your teeth and tongue after every official meal. Create this health habit. This Does Work !!! ❤❤❣
I too wish to cuddle Peggy. I just snacked before watching this video.
😊
I tend to snack more, a few days before my period, then the urge goes.
I eat three meals a day with sufficient protein and fat so I’m not tempted to snack.
Thanks for sharing Suzanne, I might need to do the same! x
I try and eat more healthy foods instead of going for the pre-made low fodmap cakes.
I snack when I'm bored too. My main foods to snack on are cookies and crisps. These are things i crave the most, especially a non-fodmap cookie.
I tried to switch it up.I have veggie crisps instead, that are roasted,I make different biscuits and cake.
I also Try and make sure i have 3 main meals a day .And i hide all naughty foods away in the cuboard.
Sounds like you've made some good swaps there - thanks for sharing! x
