I don't partake in it, but in this day and age, everything is all about instant gratification. People do it because they can buy and "open" up packs then and there. No having to deal with out of stock things. Also for higher end products, they know they're getting a clean pack, one that likely hasn't been tampered with/weighed as it's coming from a sealed box.
I personally don't get the appeal of rip n ship. I bought 1 overpriced "rip till you hit" and never again, for me it's not worth it. What I don't understand is how whatnot streamers have unlimited packs, I saw a dude with a great wall of prismatic easily $1000s of it. It's much more satisfying to open up packs yourself. Theres also so much risk involved, lets say you pull a PE God pack, whats stopping the streamer from just blocking you and keeping the cards for themselves lol. Seen it happen so many times
I’ll pay to open vintage packs on live stream but I don’t know about modern right now that’s my only concern with rip n ship they buy at whatever price to support the rip anything popular that dips below market price they will but it all up now you have to go to rip n ship to open just released sets 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Well, through rip n ships, those people basically just take a gamble to potentially get an expensive card, by buying 1 or a couple of packs. So, without risking hundreds or thousands of dollars by buying and opening a full booster boxes, they get a chance to pull an amazing card. Of course those chances are low, but losing 5 or 10 dollars is not that big of a deal for them as the cost of a full booster box, whilst the reward can be far greater of course. That said, I completely understand your opinion on this. I too believe people like to be part of the community by being in the those livestream. It's just going to be interesting to find out how much Pokémon can actually print. Right now, it seems they can't print enough for the high demand but you never know, right?
@monkey39128 I'm not saying it will be an extended bear market like 2021-2023 was, but we are in for some turbulence as the S&P 500 and crypto rebalances
@@mototcg337 Yeah you're right. I'm still trying to work out how it'll affect me here in the UK. It'd be nice if Trump let us off to protect his businesses over here. 😂 Mind you most of my money is in the US markets so probably won't make a difference either way.
But at the end of the day we have a choice to participate in the Rip n Ship save your money have some self control imo they are the necessary evil to make this hobby grow. Easy at it may sound we just have to secure under MSRP pre-orders if possible.
rip & ship - unregulated gambling

I did a box break once. It was roaring skies, got the $20 mega rayquaza, graded it and got an 8. After that, I never did it again.
XY was so hard to grade. 😭
