Only issue I don't like about this receiver is the fact that when you turn the VFO to tune, the sound is muted... SO, you can't spin and stop on a signal when you hear it.... I think that's a major issue to be honest. Thanks for the review John.
Very cool it has an antenna match or tuning section. Kinda wish there was an option to go lower like 300khz Longwave instead of Airband. Kinda interesting, but unless you know a local airport tower freq, or 122.75 (radio checks) or 123.45 for casual pilot chat, or formation flying coms, it is a bit meh. They gotta neon bend the rules on the next edition and do under 5 watt tx on CB, 5 mhz emergency mountain frequency, 49.860, and the other 4 no license channels, MURS, VHF Marine, FRS, and MW millawatt 1710 legal no license broadcast, and have the mod sequal freedom rig of the G.E. starbase?
UDX-151 westcoast been going crazy on 38 today it was madhouse on my beam antenna 11ft it's doing good on my cobra139 i have videos on it with UDX-875 talking him yesterday the sirio sy27-4 is doing good with mfj-974H tuner the swr is like 1.05 on ch 20 it level other channels out at 1.11 and 1.2 i use nanovna on mfj974h you should get nanovna John you can see better on your antennas it's pretty cool device.
it's been the same over here, West coast has been blasting in all day! I already have a nice antenna analizer that I use. Take care UDX-362, Thanks for watching.
Intesting! So, if I wanted to hear my modulation out of the radio I get on 27.385 LSB with, that shortwave reciever might be the way to go? Would that be a good idea for that? Because I'm tired of asking other operators and getting anecdotal nothing burgers of opinions, and, trying to find an SDR reciever on the Internet for that. And, (P.S.), I heard you on 38LSB somewhat recently! I go by 330, Three, Three O, O-HIGH-O 🤣🤣🤣, reflective of one of the telephone area codes around here, and tried like hell to get back to you but you could barely hear me. 73, 330, Three, Three, O, O-HIGH-O, Charlie
Yes! This radio would be an awesome monitor radio, for all the bands! I think I remember hearing you on the air, hopefully we'll get the contact next time. Take care 330, 73's from 151 SC.
@@MowerJunkie Yes! I kept saying "SUBSCRIBER! I'M ONE OF YOUR UA-cam SUBSCIBERS!" Maybe I'll load up a video of my atenna one of these days so you can see what I'm working that I call the "Chameleon/Hustler Combination Vertical Package; 6~160" in about an 18 foot long package and no more than 100 watts on SSB! Again, 73! 330, Akron, O-HIGH-O!
@@MowerJunkie More likely to upload a video, as I need to prove that "antenna TUNERS" actually improve signal output and recieve and SHUT DOWN that argument. I really just wanted you to understand why it hard for me to TX and recieve in your diraction working from an aparment building such as mine.
Squelch stopped working on mine after one week. Also, battery life is not too good. Be careful of your excitement, you'll find that you won't be receiving anything because the squelch circuit goes bad and you will not be hearing anything, sitting there like a dummy not knowing.
Comprei um rádio desse esperando ter recepção das faixas de 11, 20,40 e 80 metros mas não pega nada além de AM,FM e VHF... Serve como uma peça linda e ornamentativa mas nada além disso!!! Dinheiro jogado fora!!!
The newest and continued issue with the CB reception band only got worse as I was making a video to send to their support person. Now it receives a specific frequency from transmitter across all the TR-113 reception CB band frequencies. Yes it completely went bonkers. I just got my return label, and make no mistake this radio is just poorly made and very disappointing.
