- Yes. It can be used with hoses. ;-)
It really depends. If the input tube would be filled with air before the pump begins operating, the answer is no. If the input tube is filled with water, yes, but be aware that pump wont obstruct the flow of water to the output when turned off.

Is there a way to change direction of this pump; for example change the inlet to outlet? Because I want to use one pump to take water from on place to another and then transfer that water back to original place. Can I change the flow of this pump? Are there any pumps which can do that?
I know what you're talking about, but I don't know if there are any pumps. You can't do that in this pump. The input cannot be replaced by the output. And you can use 2 pumps. You know what I mean? The pumps are in different barrels. The outputs of the pumps are connected by one hose. But only one pump should work at a time!
@@dial2277 Normal dc motor can change the direction of spinning if you invert the polarity, this kind of pumps are made of common dc motors, but i don't know if you invert the polarity in this pump can works... I have 2 but i not gonna take chances and burn one...
If pump's discharges into the bottom of a high bucket, then when pump stops the water flows back through the same pipe and pump's propeller. That's perfect for ebb and flow hydroponics.

Hey there, Can you clarify the max head for this motor? The specs say 3M but in your test it barely went by a foot. Maybe if you use a pipe it might rise a bit more!
on the pump there is "300cm max head". this means the CIRCUIT height must be lower than 3m or there will be no flow and actual fluid rate will decrease more or less linearly the higher the pump has to push the fluid.

As long as the input side's tube is filled with water, it should be usable. You won't be able to place an air-filled tube into water and have it pump water through the pump. And when the pump is off, the input and output tubes will act like one long tube without a barrier.

@@celtJP in one way yes I was having one for over 1 years but this was , when i was having my aquarium i use the pomp outside from the thank just to pomp the water to the aquaponic and from the aquaponic back to the main aquarium but they get a bit hot because they are filled with resin and is better if you keep it in water but like i say depend . In water they stay cold but outside they stay a bit warm . And as well depend how good they are. They don't have a high flow rate but for the size of them they are enough for moving some water

Ok in fact I will use it with 2400mah powerbank, so I guess it will be ok isn't it? I aleready tried a usb 5v/12v converter but it makes the pump running too fast on 12v, so 5v is more convenient for me. I also tried to run it through a pulse width module with no effects on the pump speed, as the PWM behaved like a basic I/O switch with full power or no power at all. Maybe because of the brushless? I don't know. Anyway thanks a lot for your help.

I used a tube and the pump didn't had the force to go for 1M.

I understand you! Some confuse the pressure with the height of the jet :) The Lift Height is the maximum height to which a pump will lift water (in the tube). With max head, the flow is greatly reduced, almost non-existent.
