I saw this documentary on the Australian ABC last year when I was home alone and depressed. After watching it I felt so much lighter, happier and excited about life. I decided then and there that I wanted a piece of that happiness, and went out and bought a beautiful Aria ukulele. It's a year later, and I'm only now just starting to get confident with my strumming and rhythm, but the uke has brought me so much confidence and happiness in this short time. Thank you so much for making this film!
She said it right at 2:45 "It's a ukulele...It makes people happy!" The Ukulele and the banjo are the two instruments that can bring a smile to my face in no time...That's why I strum my Banjo uke most of the time.
Here’s another. I was carrying my concert ukulele inside of my case on my way to work. A man on the street asked if that was a violin inside the case or a machine gun. I rolled my eyes and keep going.
I get questions like is my Kala ukuleles a bass, a violin, a guitar, etc. I carried my soprano in the subway one time. An electric bass player asked me if the instrument was a bass because of the four strings. I was shocked by his question.

That uke was made by the father of the player. The player's name is Daniel Nakashima and the builder is Wayne Nakashima.
