For the people asking about if Crna's can pick their hours, many can. For example one crna stated that he would work one 24 hour day and another 16 hour day so that he only had to work twice a week. Many get 6 weeks vacation time per year. Great benefits!
Thank you, you definitely cleared out one of my biggest concerns! I just pictured myself in 10 years, not being able to spend proper time with my family...
My father works in the medical field, which makes me want to have some sort of profession falling under those lines. Anesthetist just seems to fit what I would enjoy doing.
Daniel Michalik People who end up as Professionals. Do it beacause......its in the Medical field...or It relates to their favorites study like. Medicine . disease. and physical thearapy. mabey because they like the use of Hospital tech Too.
I wouldn't bash someone's belief but it's insulting to thank something that let you get sick in the first place for curing you when the nurses and the people working with them did all the work to get you healthy again.
I just got into the University of Toronto for nursing. So in two years, I'll be an RN, but I really aspire to have this career. Nurse Anesthetist is my dream career. They aren't common in Canada, might move to the US to become one.
Sound like a rush to be that one to have to decide and administer the correct dosage of anesthesia and save a life I love that rush, and love to learn. I'll add this specialized itle of RN to my list
Being a nurse anaesthetist in the US or in other countries with this nursing system is so cool. In germany, a nurse anaesthetist is only allowed to prepare medications, checking the anaesthetist's workplace, supervising the patient in the recovery room etc. You are not allowed to develop an anaesthetic plan, you are never ever going to perform a spinal / epidural / nerve block on your own and so on. To perform the activities of a nurse anaesthetist in Germany, you have to study medicine and become anaesthetist.
In the US you can become a nurse practitioner which basically gives you all the power of a physician without having to go to medical school. These jobs are becoming common because in the US we have a shortage of healthcare providers. Medical school has become so expensive that its scaring people away from attending, nurses are taking on more jobs and responsibilities that were once done by physicians
If you want to do what is anesthesiologist doing, you must finish medical school. It is the most responsible job. You must know very well anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, neurology,...
Can't decide if I want to be CRNA or if I should go to med school and become an anesthesiologist. I'd much rather be the latter, but the debt that comes with medical school seems to be overwhelming.
But also add in the fact that it takes MUCH longer so why not just take the route that's more affordable and takes less time? You don't wanna spend your young years in school.
Y v That's what I thought about long and hard. For me, I don't want to be in school for the next 12+ years continuously and sacrificing a lot of family time. This fall, I've finally decided on a profession and starting as a Pre-nursing student soon! Can't wait to work as an OR nurse then venture off into CRNA (my school offers a good rigorous program that is only a year)
I wish i could be a nurse antithesis but im to young and im only 12 years old but i know some wear in my heart i know im going to be we're that young lady is standing right now🌺🌻🌼🌼🌷⚘🌱
All colleges that have a program for this require a bachelors degree in nursing. After that you apply to a program and go for about two years. You could also be an anesthesiologist assistant, they get paid less than CRNA but they require a bachelors in biology then you apply to an AA program.
Whatever_928 Your the Type of People who end up being sued for all you got. Keep thinking of Money boii . good luck. not everyone likes the medical field
Freddy Medina ya I was considering this field at first because of the money. I'm in a nursing program to become an lvn. However, after almost a year in this program, I can say nursing is not the field for me. My dream job is actually to be a vet. I do plan on finishing this program. But I will go no further than that. Vet usually make around 70-90 thousand a year. That's half of what a crna makes but it's still pretty good money. Especially if you live in Texas because Texas is one of the cheaper states and I'm not looking for a mansion. Just a good house and a job that love so much, I don't even consider it a job. I'd gladly work all day as a vet. Also I plan to have roommates so that's less cost for me. And of course I plan to have a good partner and no kids for while.
Well first of all, u gotta know education in the US is expensive, very expensive, especially when u decide to pursue a masters degree, unless you manage to secure some type of scholarship that would cover most if not all of your tuition. Now second of all, can a bachelor of science degree from Morocco get transferred into a US BSN degree? 7it kandan Nursing programs flblad makhtalfin bzaf 3la Nursing programs in the US.
+liz morales It all depends on the hospital and years of experience. Im sure seniority has something to do with hours. Most hospitals require everyone to have shared on call duties.
It depends where you work. A surgery center usually doesn't have any call or overtime. There's an agency, too. They never had to take call. Some L&D floors have a CRNA in house 24-7. A CRNA stays in house for 48 hours and that's it for the week. So, there's all types of schedules.
I’m only about to start my sophomore year in high school and this job is highly appealing to me. However, I don’t know which classes I should take to help me prepare for college/get me into this job. I will have honors chemistry & honors biology this year, and I’m sure that those are crucial, but what else will I need?

I am trying to get my life lined up to go down that path but I don’t know what I don’t know so do you guys have any advice? Thanks
@@kevin598 thanks for for the reply I've had an answer from another video when you do CRNA and wanna become an anesthesiologist doctor you need to go back to med school, hell its better then going through undergraduate before going to med school. haha
zchbddy90 These people are a hell of a lot younger than I thought they would be. If I start the schooling process at 25, will I be too old for this profession?
jed52 Definitely not. If you casually browse some forums of students accepted and graduating from CRNA school, there are a lot of people with a TON (10-20 years) of experience. Go for it, if that's what you want to do!
+jed52 Age shouldn't matter if it's your passion and what you want to do. I started nursing school at 27 and I'm starting nurse anesthesia school in September and I am 36 right now. A lot of people say that's old to go back to school for 3 years because I will be 40 a month after I graduate. But I can't see myself doing anything else in this world so to me age doesn't matter. It shouldn't.
Nathan Ocampo anesthesiologist give the anesthesia to patients during surgeries... And they get paid as much as the surgeon... So these people do that but don't even make a quarter amount? Lol
Josh Riddle it’s never too late for a career change. You’ve got the rest of your life ahead of you! A few years of schooling and experience, and you’ll get there with enough determination
This is what I'm striving for but I would say so far my biggest weakness would be injecting medicine into the vein, I can handle shots but maybe giving the shot not so well
+Victoria Bieber 4 years undergard BSN, 1 to 2 years (many now want 2 years) of ICU (preferably CICU/HVICU/CTICU/etc.), then 2.5 to 3 years of CRNA school.
This is what I'm aiming to becoming I'm gonna work hard for this, in my second year of college right now for nursing.
Whatever it takes to reach your goal do it!
Keep moving forward you can do it

You make enough in your first to years working as an anesthesiologist to pay it off. Dont worry about debt when youll be making 300-400k a year

@@elverdad6805 What's your point? I didn't get what you've said!
First of all you have to complete bachelor of nursing degree

Get your RN license first and work in ICU setting for at least 2yrs. Then apply to the program
0:40 yeah like $180k very well. Now you're going to need a PhD by 2025!! I would've made it if I were two years older.
I nurse but don't know....ACls test please tell me.
After a BSN, and completion of work in 1 year min. of critical care, how much longer would it take to become a CRNA?
Three years, and it's my understanding that people often go for 2 years of ICU experience before applying/acceptance.
For more information about our CRNA program, please contact Andreia Lofthouse at alofthouse@llu.edu.
That's it this is what I'm doing :)
when you do this, can you also work your way up to a doctor anesthetist?

A nurse anesthetist doesn't go through medical school. An anesthesiologist does, so they get paid as much as a doctor

Why are there CRNA’s?

So basically you do all the work while the anesthesiologist gets paid twice as much as you.
I don't think so.
GOD/rugssss.

oh yeah bruh I forgot God created anesthesia
Everything was fine until God had to be mentioned. Is the US really that religious?
Loma Linda is a seventh day Adventist (Christian) University. Of course God’s going to be mentioned. If you don’t like it that’s too bad.
Can't really take a nurse seriously whos also relying to god at his/her work.
