- In today's video, we're taking a deep dive into the Meepo V5 electric skateboard to find out if it's truly the best bang for your buck this year.

Haven't boarded (skate or surf) for 20 odd years, just got this, went for my first ride yesterday and it's awesome. Couldn't even get to max speed on level 3 (straight up fear). At this exact moment in time? You can just forget level 4! And I just can't get over how big it is! I don't know anything about electric skateboards but I'm kinda at a loss as to how you could get a better beginner board. Different? Yes but better? Not sure how. Levels 1 and 2 are nice, level 3 (to a beginner) feels like the real deal. It's got a nice little punch to it's acceleration (nothing you can't handle) which gives you the idea of what's to come. I have got a screen on my remote? Which has numbers on it? Which, I guess, is nice? Er... Hmmm. But riding it? First time? My brain just kept saying: "This is crazy man!" And I couldn't stop giggling. I'm in the UK, wouldn't know Meepo if they came up and bit me, bought the board with my own money and what an absolutely stupid thing to do with your life. Ride an electric skateboard. Luckily I'm a very stupid man! So if your wondering what an absolute beginner thinks? There you go.

FYI - Be aware the included 3mm allen wrench on their T-tool does not fit any of the bolts. BYO-3mm. Might as well check for any loose bolts too. They also sell this V5 refurbished for $280 usd

The Wowgo 2S Max seems like a better deal than the Meepo V5. It has the same top speed, has a bigger and more powerful battery (12S2P 216wh battery as opposed to the V5's 10S2P 144wh battery) and costs the same amount.
EDIT: Looks like the Teamgee H20T has both boards beat (if you live in the US). Same top speed, but nearly twice as big of a battery for around ~35km range as opposed to 20km of the V5 and the 2S Max. Also comes with 103mm wheels for a smoother ride as opposed to the 90mm ones from the V5 and the 2S Max.

@@TheBooban I'm definitely biased because I own the Wowgo 2S Max, but before that, I did a ton of research to find out which one was the best deal

Meepo needs to fire whomever is designing these boards. They’re absolutely ugly and look like they’re made for Kmart.
They have an identity problem. Stick to a modern looking logo and serious color scheme. I had the v3 and it was ok but man it’s just been one awful looking design after another.

Not sure what this video recommends, but DO NOT BUY MEEPO. I have been a customer for 5 years, there ESC randomly stops working, causing extremely dangerous situations when you suddenly cant break! They used to be good with customer service, but after telling them about this issue they completely left me out to dry. The company has gotten too big it would seem, the days of dealing with a passionate skateboarder are gone. Completely profit driven with no support, and faulty dangerous boards. I have always recommended Meepo, but I will never buy from them again! Removing their sticker from my helmet as we speak, the only thing with their name on it that actually works.
