Sadly, when I last saw TSoM in 2016, much as I like their albums, Eldritch's voice is completely shot these days, and frankly a bit of an embarrassment. He really should consider packing it in, it's THAT bad. I'd not go to see TSoM again live, much as I love their music, but will happily follow The Mission to whatever gig they're playing. The contrast is that wide.

Evi Vine's a bloody good backing singer for The Mish, and a good artist in her own right and band. Her vocals worked superbly live and she was anything other than what you claim.

(black planet, walk away, not time to cry, a rock and a hard place, Marian,... ) Eldritch is only credited on Possession in cooperation with... Hussey and Adams. But Eldritch wrotes all the lyrics. I guess Eldritch couldn't cope with the growing implication of Hussey and Adams in the sisters of mercy. He was losing control, that was not possible in his sick brain.
But at least he has talent. And wrote the original music. I'd offer up Andrew singing as far more ridiculous - have you heard him these days? My mother sings better, sadly. :(

Not these days it's not. The original was good, but Andrew's not got the voice he once had. :( Given how low Andrew used to sing, Wayne did a pretty good job getting his voice down that low for an entire track - it's not easy singing out of your natural range.

Not really. She does sing, but mostly soft backing vocals. At times she sings more clearly, as you've noticed... in the chorus or so.
