I never post reviews but y’all deserve it.. Hookpad is a SUCH a great tool for music theory learners and/or songwriting beginners like me. Helped me write a couple decent songs that I wouldnt have written otherwise.
Do you guys happen to have a standalone app in the works? Cause that would be a game-changer (and will help you reach more users probably).

I read your comments after I wrote down mine, and I agree. What I read from you might have been in the outer frame of my subconsciously reading eyes - so much it corresponds to my judgement on Hookpad. No need to reply: I am up to understand what you mean by "standalone app", as I am no pro and do not even know how to handle any other software, admittingly, I only know the word, "daw". I will find out, Cheers! Very useful comment, yours, for beginners.
I'm curious of what "standalone app" means as well, and why would it make a difference.
I'm fearful of using anything online as my work may be stolen or I may be subject to owing profits to someone unbeknownst to me.
If I already have a midi chord progression can I drag it into the program to work on or does the midi only go out?
Does this program detect the melodies and chords of songs you type in ? I really want to see the melody for hyper potions pitta vista

Very cool, however I don't see an option to select between minor and Major chord in this tutorial. Where is it? Also, I was wondering if you can input notes directly from a midi keyboard? Thanks...
Thank you for your feedback! Major and minor chords are automatically selected depending on the key you're using. However if you want to add a different harmony you can click on the search icon right to the chords and just type in the chord you need. Input with a midi keyboard is possible for both melody and chords.
If a song isn't in the Database can you manually add it to HookPad and get Chords/Melody analysed?

I can't figure out how to play music through. This says space, which doesn't work, the support on the actual thing says press P, but that just activates and deactivates the preview setting (which does ??). Actually pressing the button visible on my screen also doesn't work. What's wrong here?

Was looking for a desktop/pc version for offline use, is there really not one?
No, at the moment the online version is all we got. However, after you have opened your song, you can also work offline for some time.

may I know how to add Diminished chord? . I think it would be better if it has the function of user made chord
There are a few different ways to add a Diminished Chord. The easiest way at the moment is to borrow a chord from the minor mode (if it was major) and alter the 5 to b5. Another possibility would be to use the "vii of" button in the secondary section. But yes, a custom user chord function wouldn't be that bad, too. Thank you for your feedback!
I bought monthly subscription, but am unable to add 2,3 and 4 melody voices.
I'm sorry about that. Do you see the "Active Melody Voice" buttons on the right side? Can you click on them?

To show the piano, click on preferences and the "show piano". Please let me know if that worked for you.

Yes, it's a new version. Right now you can enable the piano in the preferences. Just click on Preferences and scroll down a bit.
