Thanks for posting this follow up video Chris! This is exactly what I wanted to see. I think the small amount of wear is to be expected. The aluminum obviously does it as well. Look forward to seeing how it is in another thousand miles. You said you did "some" wheeling, just curious how much and how hard you pushed her when you were out? Cheers, Amanda
I basically went up to the mountains (what you would call mountains on the east coast) about 4 times now. Some mild articulation and some slow mild crawling. Mostly gravel rutted roads. I did try to beat on it when I could on the gravel stuff just to give it some abuse. Driving around town, I do give it some full throttle runs here and there cause I am still tweaking the tune to try and iron out a few minor bugs.
Hey man glad to see another video. How has the truck been performing? I heard you say you had been off-roading some, would love to see that truck in some off-road videos you should think about filming some. Been thinking of putting 4.10 gears in my 2018 ZR2 just haven’t bitten the bullet yet. Wish I could do my own like you would already be done
I will try and get some footage. Only been doing minor stuff just having fun. The truck has been running great which is why it took so long for me to check the thrust block. I was too busy driving it. You may want to start looking for gears now as Nitro is no longer making them which means getting front gears is going to be a major issue. There is an alternate for the rear but not the front.
How are the RCV axles performing? I noticed in one of your other post that you had installed them. Those are supposed to be a higher end axle than the factory ones. What are the benefits of those that you have noticed and are they worth the extra expense
@@timricks1149 I like them. They are pretty strong and have a better boot setup. Not sure they are worth the extra expense mainly cause it would take a lot to break a stock axle, I think. The stock axles weak point is the boots. If you upgrade the boots and have them at good angles, they should be good. I am only 1/2" over stock and have a diff drop so my angles are better than stock.
This is C932 bronze. Not sure if I mentioned that in either video. I did not want to go too hard in case it wore and would be exposed to the gears and possibly damage them. I have a new Elocker now and intend to compare my old aluminum one with the one in the new locker as just glancing it looks like they may have changed it some. I will report back when I see. If that is the case, I may just adapt my drawing to mimic the new design and get another made with their revision.

@ hey at least it’s only a couple bugs and you’re not still at square one! She a beast already, can’t wait to see her dialed in

im wondering if you went with a NAB= Nickle aluminum bronze block how that would work… being harder material 🤔
