This is great when you have sand soil to deal with. I will try this with rocky loam soil fella. Great idea Nick. Good day to you fella.
Great vid bro! I will give it a try in my backyard. I would suggest using a Wetvac to suck it up though.
Industrial hydrovac units are just this exactly with a built in giant shop vac. To replicate this for the homeowner, I would say just rent or buy a big shop vac aka wet/dry vacuum and use that for the extraction. I'm going to give it a go soon I think
How about add in a sump pump on the end and you can keep on going.
Do you think you can make a wider trench using your technique for a 4" sewer line?
How do you fill in the trench? Where does all the dirt go?
With no dirt dug out, what do you have to fill the ditch back?
What psi was this? Is that a k2/3 with vario lance
Actually learning about this is eye opening
"safe" ..Its the word here... Love this idea..thanks
I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)
What PSI does your pressure washer produce? I'm thinking of doing similar, and was wondering if a 3000 PSI P.W. would work decently or not?
I just did it with a k5 capable of 2000psi on compacted red clay... Worked well. Did it as a quick trial to exposure bamboo rhisomes so didn't need to go deep. The pit at the end of the trench is definitely a must.
@@nzpyro Btw, I'm not doing a trench so much as boring holes straight down. Holes only need to be around 2.5 cm or so diameter, but need to be deep, like around 3 meters. Just 3 of them per system.
@@justinw1765 3m seems to be pretty deep! Did you end doing it? And did it work?
I love the concept but my reptilian brain insists I do it the hardest way.
Get a 2' wand extension for less bending over and more distance away
Thank you great idea worked wonderful
Dig a trench with a pressure washer, or how to make a big freaking mess! 😂
Get an electric pump next time. You can rent a ditch witch and excavate the whole job into a tank as well
I wish i knew people that did this so i could learn and get into it looks like a rewarding experience to learn
How much water did you use?
i did this today and it was awesome
In Australia a hydro excavator would charge over 1000 for that
Do you live in Melbourne or something thats not soil that shit sand.
Thanks I really needed this video ❤️
Good vid, good idea, good info! Not sure how it’s going to apply, but, it will, sooner or later.
Thanks!
Could I do 18” easily?
What psi ? Can it be done with 1600
I still dont get gow he did this, wish he wkuld have shown that on the video
Rent a trencher from Home Depot and be done in about 15 minutes with less mess.
Great video! Many thanks!
Good idea. Thanks for the upload.
You could use a chainsaw :). As I did. But I worked in my garden, where there are NO Pipes, Wires etc.
This has to be THE SAFEST way to dig a trench - with a pressure washer.
Add a shop vac and this could save my old back. Thx.
Shop vac would be full in no time.
There is an attachment called sludge pump that runs on a pressure washer, would be perfect for this application.
No doubt, but I own a shop vac. It will have to do. It works fairly well getting dry dirt and rocks out.
I removed a tree yesterday with a pressure washer. It's magic. I'm gonna buy a more powerful one.
Put a shovel through a gas line. If a shovel can break the gas line then it needs to be replaced.
Amazing! Good tip.
Great video
How deep did you cut? Will this method allow you to cut 22 inches deep (56 cm)?
@@savagerandy8244 He said "This is a 9 meter trench, about 600 feet". Doesn't make sense, even at 90 meters... I as well would like to know the max depth he attained.
You can dig far deeper than you might think with a pressure washer.
There are attachments for washing 2nd and 3rd story windows, you just point them down instead of up.
A big shop vac works great to get the dirt water out
They way you say water is funny 😂 No offense…
Rain suit and MC Helmet :)
I'm betting the notion of less physical effort is clouding your judgement.
So the dirt all went down your street storm drain, how many bags of Topsail did you have to buy to backfill your trench? 😂
U need a good shop vac and u dont have dirt and water
this needs a lot of water
Haha, nice sand. You wouldn't get 2 inches where I live.
It’s not straight
In the US we have Mexicans for this. One Mexican can dig a 50 ft. trench in one hour. You can pay him $25 and a six pack. He will be a happy camper.
I already think about that option but the problem is if that Mexican digs right to the gas pipe, electric cable, water pipe, or Internet cable then we will be the ones taking care of the problem.
I can confirm this. I dug a 50ft trench for a bottle of jarritos and some tamalas. It was my parents house so i got ripped off.
I agree . But too messy. Thanks for the video
That's the problem dig it yourself and save 25
I used this method to remove tree roots that grew up in my lawn. Trace the roots and blow water under, and you have a simpler root removal🧐
