    Awesome video Billy!! Thank you for all your research!! It is mind boggling to me that you can get a number of rookie Hall of Fame cards in a collectors grade for under a hundred dollars. Then I see people paying hundreds if not thousands of dollars on a player who hasn’t accomplished anything!! Later these same cards are in the bargain bins. It doesn’t make sense!! I’ll never understand it!!

      I agree with you 100% Ken! It's amazing some of these cards are so cheap. It's even more amazing that people pay insane money for players who haven't done anything. And in some cases haven't even taken at bats past Double A. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Cool cards from Adam! Great research on the HOF rookies! Great deals! Thanks for sharing Billy!

    Jim Palmer’s rookie is insanely undervalued. He’s a first ballot hofer and all timer and that card is from a period where almost every rookie card was a horizontal dual card shared with another player. His being a solo vertical rookie and a great looking one from a classic set for so cheap is unreal to me. Great research put into this thanks for sharing!

      He's one of the few solo rookies from the 60s. I agree with you 100 percent. I've come to the realization that the hobby hates pitchers!

      @@billyballgamesportscardsIt’s always interesting to see why certain positions for each sport are more popular than others.
      I think it comes down to collectors can’t collect everything so they focus on specific positions. For football cards, it’s all about QB’s. For Baseball, I think it’s about HR hitters. Thats why pitchers and even great average hitters like Tony Gwynn’s cards are criminally undervalued. I hate to say it but the old saying ‘Chicks dig the long ball’ really fits in our hobby for the masses.

    • @billyballgamesportscards

      @chrisolivo6591 No doubt. Home run hitters have always gotten the love. Then there's Koufax and Ryan. Seaver used to get a lot of love but not so much nowadays for some reason.

    Fantastic info. I have been working on vintage hall of fame football rookie cards and slowly started branching into baseball. This was a great tool for finding those “lower tier” guys who can be added while still saving for a big one here and there.

    I'm a HOF RC collector and these are the only graded ones I can afford! Thanks alot haha... My only hope for the more expensive RCs is when I'm blessed to find a sharp one raw to grade. But I always look to buy at least one grade above the card's decade which obviously makes it pricier. I argued against Jim Rice at first. But he's one of the best of his era. In hindsight, these guys were playing in enormous multi-purpose stadiums and the outfield dimensions and super high walls turned home runs we now take for granted into doubles. They were products of their era. Also, Jim Rice saved a little kid, during a game, from dying after being hit hard by a batted (foul?) ball. He literally jumped into the stands, grabbed the kid and carried him into the dugout/locker room because that was the fastest way to get him help. From the team's medical staff. Now that's quick thinking. When you put Jim Rice's stats in context of that era, he was a beast. And a hero! Willie Horton also saved Al Kaline's life during a ball game. Kaline was choking on his own tongue and Willie freed it, saving his life. That would be an awesome topic to hear one of you fellas cover. Sports heroes of another variety... Throw in Rick Monday and a few others, and that would be a fun watch. C'mon, Billy!

      Thanks for watching and commenting. It's much appreciated. You're buying "investor" grade cards, which definitely bump up the price. I had never heard those stories about Jim Rice or Willie Horton those are amazing. Thanks for sharing. Jim Rice did have some monster seasons.

    Great share Billy. Crazy to think about how much the price of many of these HOFers RCs have gone up since i got a lot of mine. I got my Eddie Murray RC for like 3 Dollars many many years ago. Lol. Enjoyed and thanks for sharing with us. Hope you had a great easter as well.

    I completely forgot that Cepeda played his last few years with St Louis, Another great video, I really needed to watch, Have so much s--t going on, Love the 71 Carlton, He is the most underrated pitcher ever in my opinion

    • @billyballgamesportscards
      @billyballgamesportscards  4 місяці тому

      Much appreciated, Billy! I hope things calm down for you. Carlton is one of the top 5 left-handed pitchers, and his cards are crazy cheap! The hobby just doesn't love pitchers minus a select few. Most of the cards in this video are of pitchers!

    • @billysikes1374
      @billysikes1374 4 місяці тому +1

      @@billyballgamesportscards I'd say Carlton is the 2nd best, As long ad there's mlb, Koufax is gonna be #1, I'd put CC in top 5, he should make it to the HOF, 250 wins gets you in, Then call Kershaw and Scherzer HOF pitchers every time they walk to the mound, they would be average pitchers had they pitched in the 50s through 70s, Kershaw and Scherzer have no shot at winning 300 games

    Another way to get these cards even lower is to buy them ungraded. You can get a lot of them in EX or better for even $50 or less

    Sutter for $30, The Hawk for under $50, Winfield easily one of the all time greats, Gary Carter top 5 catcher, Hawk hit over 500 bombs, I cant believe how cheap these cards are, Murray top 3 switch hitters to ever play the game, Mantle, Murray, Chipper top 3

    These cards never get old and thanks for showing them. As watching this video and I 100% agree with what your saying but would you rather have one of these HOF Rc`s or an authentic or psa1 or SGC 1 of Mickey Mantle ? Say A 1968 or 1969? Thanks again. Jim.
