Finally, a full episode of the UK version of Joker's Wild. Thanks for the upload. You should check out the unrelated US game show of the same title, sure, it's not comical, but it's an interesting game.
@Feisty1967 They used to smoke on children's programmes in the 70s; Jack Hargreaves with his pipe on How; Jimmy Savile with his cigar on Jim'll Fix It; even Corrie's Ray Langton when he appeared as a judge on the kids talent show Anything You Can Do. The past is another country...
Give it forty years and you'll be able to laugh at photos of the up to the minute fashions of today. It does, however, show just how old some of the stuff in charity shops is...
Wish you did a jester's wild with jesters & categories. Like have the players pull a lever to a slot machine & have 5 categories & a jester in each of 3 windows. 3 different categories show up for 10 pounds, a pair of 1 category 20 pounds, 3 of a kind 40 pounds, have a jester be any category the player choose it to be & 3 jesters wins the game automatically by answering 1 question from any category. 100 pounds or more wins the game & faces a devil or a dragon or some creature for a shot at 200 or more pounds & a prize package. Winning 5 matches won the champion a holiday or a car
@johnissoevil Indeed - it's so similar to shows that air at 9pm & after on British TV now that it does come as something of a surprise to consider that this was a daytime show. 'Bout 1:30 on a Thursday afternoon, I think. All beautifully good-natured, too - a nice corrective to the Sturm & Drang of Mock the Week & the like. Also, you can see the same relaxed, gents'-club atmosphere of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue here in abundance!
JOKERS WILD 1 of 3 1207pm 30.12.24 they should bring this back... of course!!! nowadays comics will not know any jokes... and, sadly, neither did these chaps. not even any allusions to blue material...
having Michael Aspel on the panel is bit similar to that time when Annabel Croft (the tennis player) appeared on an episode of a simar comedy quiz called The Brain Drain in 1992
Loved jokers wild. The set was like an opium den!
Many thanks for sharing this. ❤❤❤❤
RIP Barry Cryer
Used to love watching this afternoon tv from the '70's
Smoking on a live tv show. I love it...
We used to watch this on the NZBC's WNTV1 in New Zealand in the early 1970's.
Brilliant fun, thanks for posting
Timbo's comment about the MGM lion yawning because the film was on so late sounds just about right for, say, BBC-2 if football had been on beforehand!

Lennie Bennett with no perm! I never thought to see the like.

I wish someone would upload a full episode with greats like Chic Murray and Ted Ray.
This one might help

Devonshire meets Emmerdale with Aspel there?
I always thought this show looked like the type of show that would air on a Saturday night at 6pm
You're right Bluecas06! I never realised!
ITV has never been the same since they did away with the likes of Bill doing continuity.
What on earth is Aspel doing on this? What did they think they were doing?

Michel aspel resembles and sounds like ian Ogilvy the damous actor
Les Dawson has a very nice 'posh' voice!
Where's Jack Barry?
This is the UK version.
this is before whose line and its nothin like it
f--king hell
YTV
In his autobiography, Bob Monkhouse said this show was planned and rehearsed and was not remotely spontaneous!
Same as Celebrity Squares. If they rehearsed why weren’t they funny?
And they are all sat there smoking!
why do they all dress like open university lecturers? They are supposed to be superstars. Do they shop at oxfam shops?
since when was Michael Asperin a comedian?
then it became weak crap after it was wonderful in previous years
Michael aspels joke about as funny as a toothache
More like arse ache
Oh wasn't British television great.... NOT. Utter crap. Unyet TB-T and BC are still at it and actually funny these days on I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue.
Terrible gags
this stinks! it's who's line is it anyway.
