My father and his friends used to listen to Pa Salia's songs. They will dance and throw jokes at each other. I never saw this great legend. I got to know more about him when i moved overseas. I still listen to his songs. I can't speak Mende, but I understand the words. May his soul rest in peace. Sierra Leone lost a great legend.

This is Mende song... it's all proverbs with beautiful meanings. Very educative. He's talking about family, love, wealth, greed, jealousy, human relationships and so much more. I understand the words...but, can't speak the language.

@you2forme1 : His dad was kpa-Mende; his mum was koh-Mende, and he was born in koh-Mende country.
For his age his voice's quite strong here. With the videos I'll post, we shall see how his voice fares as the interview and songs continue.

It's a Mende song. He was a great poet and musician. Most of his songs are proverbs with beautiful meanings...and very educative. In this song he was talking about family, love, wealth, greed, and human relationships in general. His songs usually gives people goose bumps... that's if you understand the lyrics. He was loved in Sierra Leone and beyond. A great loss.
