Original Fender single coil Precision bass 1951, Precision with split coil pickup and contoured body 1957, Fender Jazz Bass 1960 , MusicMan StingRay 1976, G&L guitars and basses 1980.
The story of G&L: After CLF (Clarence Leo Fender) left Fender, he had signed a 10-year non-competent contract in 1966, but he secretly partnered with the former Fender employees: Forrest White and Tom Walker, who had already established Tri-Sonix Inc, but Leo Fender himself didn't like the name, and they had various names but ended up with the name Musicman (current EBMM or Ernie Ball Musicman). Musicman itself will make the amps while CLF Research (now G&L) will going make the guitars and basses. In 1979 Musicman and CLF Research tension rises because of the guitar and bass production, and Leo Fender dislike the pressure from the Musicman company and decides to step away from Musicman, and later Musicman contracted Grover Jackson for the production. In the same year, Leo Fender formed a new company with Gorge Fullerton and Dale Hyatt, they called it G&L the acronym for "G"orge Fullerton & "L"eo Fender, and all the guitar and bass parts for Musicman were reused to G&L.
I owned an el toro but the electronics where shoddy. Loved the feel of the bass but sold it. I got a mid 90s L 2000 and again the electronics were crap, but loved the weight and feel. I bought this same CLF L 2000 model last week and the bass is bass ass. Tone and sustain for days. My neighbors share the same opinion, too.
Media presenters/hosts HAVE to start doing (or being provided with) better research and info. You can't put "guitar expert" on the screen at the same time he says he doesn't know how G&L was formed, and asks the audience to provide that info for him. I like Dagan, but this is a widespread problem across all entertainment these days. This is still a great show, but just needs to tighten up the prep.
Underrated bass, is kind of heavy, but is by far the most versatile and best sounding bass I have ever owned!
Thanks and hello from our new channel 🙏
The L-2000 is an incredible machine. In addition the Fender Jazz bass, it is my absolute favorite🔥
Great basses, built like tanks, versatile and flexible. Still full of great ideas!

Leo sold Fender then started Music Man then sold that company and then started G&L then he passed by away and the world has been Poop ever since
It sounded like there was some level of overdrive on that the whole time. Also there's no treble boost control. It's cut only. Same with the bass.
I just wish you guys had an actual bass player reviewing this bass.

SO close to that Wal sound...
Wish to have 24 frets instead of 21 frets
Why distortion on a bass sound demo?
Dude plays bass like Gene Simmons
>versatile
>only plays distorted with a pick
Need an actual bass player to demo this, preferably one with proper muting technique and a clean tone.
Magnetic field DESIGN.......Jesus dude do a LITTLE fucking research!
Give me a 2500.
