There is no substitute for Justin Hawkins. Who else can sing David Lee Roth and Freddie Mercury, plus A Thing Called Love! LOL Nobody can bring a crowd to life like he can either!
Nice! I began my guitar playing journey in 1980, right around the time Van Halen became a huge force on the scene, we were all trying to play like Eddie back then and still are. During the covid lockdown, I got serious and learned to play Panama note for note. It opened a whole new world of confidence. Eddies gift was still waiting for me so many years into my journey. The inspiration to push harder, practice more, better yourself, and enjoy the reward. I will never forget the last time a saw Eddie live. I raised my hand in the air and gave Eddie a look of complete admiration as I waved and mouthed thank you with as much sincerity as I could muster. Eddie noticed, stopping picking, raised his hand, and pointed back to me with a huge smile on his face and nodded. That was Eddie, a true hero that was connected to his fans like no other. Wolf did his Dad proud here for sure. Thanks for sharing Jonathan.
The effortlessness is his playing is incredible. I try the first part of Panama and my fretting hand has a small stroke haha there must be something in that VH blood
You GO Wolfgang! It’s okay to pay tribute once in a while. Just stick to your guns and play your own music and throw some dad in there if you feel like it now and then.
Wolfie please do a tribute for your father please you're playing all of the songs already let's do one for Eddie please we need this us Van Halen fans that grew up on Van Halen we need this please reconsider because you sound spectacular VH for life ✌️☮️
@@fromulus he's not just any dad you fool. He's EVH ,the most influential guitarist in the world. Why wouldn't his son want to do a tribute for him. EVH opened a lot of doors for Wolfe. Show Some respect
@@rnbsn777 the issue is you can't put yourself in any shoes besides an evh superfan. Wvh isn't an evh superfan, he's his son. Why would he want to do an evh tribute tour? Only reason I can see given is because that's what evh fans want more than anything. But he clearly doesn't want to, he wants to live his life, make his own mark, not be a continuation of his dad's. He clearly loved his dad, but he doesn't owe his dad's fans anything, sorry if that burns you. He's only doing these performances as a tribute to Taylor hawkins, otherwise he wouldn't, he'd be doing his own thing. If it were you in his shoes, you'd understand.
Clearly shows that Wolfie has a decade of playing as Van Halen for over a decade! Grohl is all over that too. The Dave Grohl/Van Halen Project has quite a ring to it!
Van Halen should tour again with Wolf on gat..he can obviously play the stuff probably more accurately than 99% of any other guitarists I've heard..wolf.Alex.mikey.sammy....one last tribute tour! Can I get an Amen??
No... he's not living off of his Dad at all! Seriously? Maybe he can do a sitcom like his Mom too. "Have you seen Junior's fridge" 🤣 Best Leslie West impersonation ever!
Maybe “On Fire” was too much. Still a wonderful tribute. Idk why they’re holding up on a EVH tribute. Also another proof that nobody cares for Van Hagar since they haven’t played a single song even if they all were number 1. LMAO
Justin is amazing and Wolfie plays note for note like his Father. Absolutely brilliant performance.
actually more note for note than his dad did, who never seemed to play the songs the same way live
He's living proof Eddie's talent was genetic
Wolfie should be showered with nothing but love and respect. ❤
that tone is incredibleeeeeeeee
Best recording I've seen of this!! Wolfie did an amazing job on this and I love how just handles it all. Much respect for Wolfie. Excellent job
Genetics are powerful! Excellent job Wolfgang!! Your Pop would be proud!
Wolfgang has the gift.
Very smooth and skillfully present he is.
Brilliant Performance!
Much respect to Wolfgang, he brings it every time and puts that Van Halen touch on every song he plays. So awesome.
Justin just has the swagger
YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....Just ONCE for TAYLOR and DAD ❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍
This makes me actually consider a Van Halen tour with Roth, Anthony and the Van Halens!
Sounds fucking great. And Ed would be proud, Wolfgang!
No...Ed is gone, no more van halen
Dave found a gold mine when he invited Justin to be a part.

So true..., He's the "Last of our Kind".@@Ofthegirl09
@@fastguitars4380 It's a love thing, they wouldn't understand. 🤣

This makes my heart smile!!!
Wolf is such a good dude and one helluva musician!!!👍🤘🙏🤘
For any of the comments on Justin Hawkins, whatever you think of him as a singer, he's the one Dave Grohl asked to play the tribute.
I would see a van halen reunion w Wolfgang snd the og members
The effortlessness is his playing is incredible. I try the first part of Panama and my fretting hand has a small stroke haha there must be something in that VH blood
Damn Wolf doesnt even need to try, he knows this song in his dreams.
So great and Justin Hawkins is awesome
And the music lives on…….thanks Wolfgang 😊
El espíritu de Eddie se apodera del cuerpo de Wolf al momento de tocar la guitarra... increible!
One of my favorite moments from this concert.
Another awesome performance from Wolfie. Hard to hear the difference between him and Ed 🤔🤔😃😃
I wish my late ex-husband could’ve seen this. Eddie was his idol and his inspiration to learn guitar.
That made a lot of people happy!!
I know his dad was proud!!!💖
My parents had Eddie
I have wolf gang :>
Awesome Wolf!!! Love it!!!!
That natural flame top on that Wolfie is friggin sick. Drool.
FUCK YES! WOLFIE IS BADASS!!
It must be so hard for him to play his father stuff, cant blame him for not wanting to play it. Perfection
awesome !!
Oh, that was FUN! Love it.
Wolfie is no FUCKIN' JOKE!!!!
Goosebumps!
Okay Wolfegang can play. Can you imagine growing up in that household?
he does a great job.....no doubt about it, this should obviusly get hacks off his back.
Doing this is in his hometown had to feel special.
Right on way to go kid 🔥☝️☝️☝️
So much love for EVH
Sounds just like his dad wow

Dude wants to be his own person. Imagine being a guitarist and everybody keeps asking you to play your dad's stuff, like constantly.

@@rnbsn777 Because Hawkins was a huge fan of Van Halen, the band, and this was a memorial/tribute concert to him. Do you really not know that answer?

Wolfie ❤

Grandissimo wolfie ❤️
♥️ u 🐺
Wolfe and Shane Hawkins should start a band
Van Halen should tour again with Wolf on gat..he can obviously play the stuff probably more accurately than 99% of any other guitarists I've heard..wolf.Alex.mikey.sammy....one last tribute tour! Can I get an Amen??
Amen
He should be playing with the original band for a tribute.
Unbelievable.
Wow, just Wow! That was scary Good!
Awesome! still never heard a drummer get that intro drum part correct. Only Big Al.
Yup
👍❤️
Justin hawkins also unretiring one of B leaguer Roth's wardrobe atrocities
Laughable how people are saying Justin ruined it. Guy sang it note for note. Would love to see the people crying try and do a better job
Stompin!
If Wolfgang Van Halen doesn’t want to play the music of Van Halen then that’s fine he can always move on to new things that he’s doing now
papa's !
Very nicely done. I was hoping he'd due a replica of the solo and he did not disappoint. The whatever In the pink jumpsuit isn't cutting it.

Put together a Multicam mix including this footage along with other UA-cam clips: ua-cam.com/video/TeDbgTNkxHo/v-deo.html
Chumlee plays van halen song?
Who's the chick singing???
Jonathan Cohens 1st so I'll expect to hear from him soon.

Geezus...Wolfie is almost the size of Panama these days. 😮
Michael Starr would have killed the vocals...
Justin is very low in the mix
thankfully
John mayer😂
Wolfie killed it. Cant stand the singer
That toggaf in pink...Ed would 🤮
Yay for Wolfie, not so for the Harry Styles type singer!
Justin Hawkins is far from Styles. He's a proper rock and roller! :)
@@drslothlehoff806 I like him just not so much for this but I am a fan of The Darkness
Can't stand Justins voice. Rest of the band sound great.
He has to lose that Bertonelli belly
That singer ruined it. Everyone else was perfect
Cry more
That bass player sucks he plays with a pick😊
He needs to drop 100 lbs ASAP
Justin Hawkins is next. What a disgrace
The singer is not good....other than that great tribute and Wolfgang did awesome.
