In this video, we're in Hanoi, Vietnam for the very first time! We’ll start by strolling around one of the lakes and visiting a temple, then stop at a trendy cafe to try the famous egg coffee. After that, we’ll explore the Old Quarters by rickshaw, check out the iconic train street, and make sure you stick around until the end for our most bizarre dining experience ever!

Hanoi Vietnam is definitely a busy but fun city to visit. We for sure didn't expect to need to hide from the Police though! 👮♂️😮
Quirky, unique & sometimes "scary"...but also quite lovely in areas...as long as you don't get run down by traffic or train! 😮 🛵 🚗 🚆

The The Hung bridge on Hoan Kiêm lake did not collapse after the storm Yagi , but another one named Phong Châu in the remote province of Hoa Binh . Please don't tell fake news on UA-cam dude .

Besides the hectic traffic and strange interactions with the Police, overall, we really loved Vietnam!
Vietnam is a little hectic but fun to Explore!

Generally, most railways are dangerous places and therefore not allowed for business or large gatherings as trains can pass at any time. However, here the police have made concessions for people to do business, but with the condition that they must ensure safety and comply with government regulations. So if they find it too crowded to control, they will disperse some. As for the place you have to hide, it is a deserted place, without constant police presence, so business is prohibited because there is no one to ensure the safety of visitors. The shop owner is doing business illegally, but in Vietnam, it's easy to circumvent the law as you've experienced. Everything has its reason. I wish your family a happy trip in Vietnam.

May I suggest that if you have time and like seafood go to enjoy all you can eat seafood at Cuu Van Long restaurant. It is a little pricey but it is worth to try. Have wonderful time in Hanoi.

Those sesame ones are usually gutinous rice ball with bean paste inside. How did you do walking around with the boys + traffic? Was it enjoyable? I have 3 kids and considering just heading straight to a smaller city like Da nang 😂😅
The traffic was definitely hectic
My husband actually got hit by a scooter while crossing! ( luckily he was ok) We also went to Da Nang and enjoyed that much more. Less traffic and a beautiful beach! ❤️😊
After watching your video, It's encouraging to see that the country survived a very difficult time in history and has been able to thrive in the present-day...although, getting locked inside a restaurant, in the attic, no less... is just strange 🤔😅

We were just at a different restaurant before that and it was ok but for the second one we had hide. Quite the adventure but the food was good! ❤️🤣😋
I am a Vietnamese myself and I am really concerned about that sticky note coffee shop. Specifically about the cleanliness of this place. I wonder how can people clean up the rooms with all of those sticky notes around?

So funny how you had to hide 😂I read that certain train streets are closed to tourists bc so many were being unsafe but also read that tourists are allowed to be there if they are seated at a cafe 🤔 not sure why you had to hide 😂
It was very strange....we were escorted across the tracks by the restaurant owner, and there was no train coming by while we were there....
Chris, that’s crazy you got hit! It’s hard enough throwing yourself into oncoming traffic + trusting them to go around you but after being hit, how scary!
@bluestarfishsea yes it was crazy. The first scooter went around me, but the one behind him plowed into me and knocked me on the ground. Luckily, it was me alone, and the wife and kids weren't with me. Funny enough, I was already on my way to the Doctor for a Spider bite! The Dr. gave me antibiotics for the bite and said " Don't worry, people get hit all the time, but it's not that often anyone dies! " 🤣😂

Never ever buy donuts from the ambulant street vendors . Most of the time they are old and stale . Buy them at the shops where they are freshly fried .

We we in Hanoi back in March, and we're finally getting caught up on editing. We also went to Tam coc, did a Ha Long Bay Cruise, and to Da Nang/ Hoi An. We traveled to 13 countries last year, so it's been a challenge to keep current with editing while traveling and home schooling the kids. Many more Vietnam videos coming soon! 😊

The dish you eat is called orange cake, the ingredients are made from rice flour, the filling is green bean flour. They may also add other ingredients, depending on the baker. Vietnamese children quite like it. Wishing your family a happy trip in Vietnam
