Surprisingly, as ridiculous as it is, I liked the story of Beckett being accidentally married. But yeah, Season 8's Loksat arc just ruined lots of things
I liked that story too. And the loksat arc would have been better if they went for that right after castle disappearing from the wedding instead of the whole CIA thing...
Honestly I loved the S6 season finale. I wouldn’t mind if they had them get married but even if they didn’t and Castle still got kidnapped I would have preferred it if the storyline actually made sense

What a lot of fans don`t realize is Alexi Hawley one of the showrunners/writers of S8 had been w/the series from S1-S4, left at the end of S4, because he didn`t like Castle & Beckett getting together as a couple. If that's true Hawley was the last people in the world the fans would want as the showrunner. Also this is the 3rd series cancelled w/Hawley being a showrunner. FOX, NBC & ABC. The man is a hack. S8 overall was poor that's why the ratings dropped off by over 2 million viewers a episode. FYI 8x22 " Crossfire " Hawley & Winters must had thought the fans were stupid that word Loksat was uses so many times in the episode, so we knew what the episode was all about. I kept track the word Loksat was used about40 times.

I don't know if it really is true but there are rumors stating that Stana and Nathan were not in good terms with each other since Nathan was a bully to Stana, she always cry in her trailer and if that is true, maybe that's the reason why they have less screen time on S8
I always thought a neat way they could have ended it was to see the two characters walk into the apartment with the camera still showing the hallway. We hear shots being fired. Then we see Castle sitting in front of his computer. He's morrose. Then his mother shows up and he says to her he's thinking of ending the book series he's been writing about Beckett. She moans not again. Then they leave for a dinner at an exspensive restaurant. While sitting there, he sees a woman come in on the arm of an escort. It's the Beckett character. He says she might make a great character for a novel. Then we fade to black. Light on explanation, but you get the picture.
Well I liked it but you captions, sort of fly by on the quick side! You know I was hoping for a Castle movie, but the way things ended I don't think their will be.
wow a lot of haters here well i liked season 8 here is my reason: its so obvious season 8 was a "Make another one, we make more money" season and that the show was supposed to end with them being married so the broke up the dynamic people liked and made it so the show was just disliked enough to not warrant more seasons. and the thing is i find it clever that they did it, because it was what peope liked about the show and them to demand it made the situations where they worked together look so much better. yes i disliked that break up to but thats why i like it on a writing level and on a "we don't want to be milked level" and the people behind the show also showed that they wanted to have more fun. specialized theme music and intros, more outlandish and nerdy settings and first impressions. yes of course i would have LOVED more of the classic castle show but I have been jaded by many shows that ran WAY TO LONG because they are only produced because of the money so i can see why season 8 is so divisive. I can see that season has issues but after knowing how other shows went down hill or offer always the same burning me out, we could have gotten far worse.
I think they should have ended it at the end of season 6, though definitely with a different ending as the one they had was an utter car crash (Although the wedding itself looked beautiful and that scene between Martha and Beckett was fantastic - personally I would be tempted go with that being the penultimate scene with the isle/vows being the final scene). Personally I would be tempted to make the bracken finale into a double length finale for the season as (while the actual bracken finale had a fantastic final scene and sense of tension) it would allow them to fix the only real issue with that episode - namely, that they work out the code far too quickly for something which they have both looked at before and which becket has been trying to decipher for years - and allow the show to go out with a bang! (That being said I will concede the tonal shift from the arrest of Bracken to the wedding would be a challenge) Alternately you they could tag the wedding on to the end of a pretty regular episode (which would be great if a little unspectacular) or a 3XK finale (although it would be difficult to have a worthy finale for 3XK without the same problems with tone that Bracken presented)
like the dream twist. it was funny. they shouldn't have change the base of the show. that plot of Beckett n castle working together should have stayed..
Season 8 wàs a sad way to end castle. The twist of the break up was unnecessary. If it was comedy drama why putt that story line. Your ending seemed more relevant. Castle humor complemented kate work as a detective not as a captain. That role was too serious to off set castle humor. Just look at gates and castle relationship.
