The halftime drums series is so great because we don’t have any of that teenager energy anymore and these new versions now fit this mid to late 30s energy I’m workin with.

Usually you do this by hitting the snare drum on the 3rd beat instead of the 2nd and 4th beat. Now your only hitting it once per measure instead of twice, giving the illusion that the song has been cut into half the speed. Sorry long expo I too am a drummer 😂
For all the shit Drummers get, they are what defines and holds the band together. Keep time for everyone, usually have the least notoriety / recognition, and more often than not the most chill of the group. Which is why drummers get flak, because a BAD drummer really ruins the entire band, but the good ones are usually ignored as just a support role.

I was in a local Contemporary Christian band "Heaven's Rain" for 3 years and just a few weeks after I got taken out by a second keyboardist they added because he said he can program the drums ...the band broke up. I know the bassist was fighting for me and maybe that's why?

Halftime drums are underrated. They are so much more fun to play, leave so many more windows for creativity, and can accent parts of the song nicely. I love this sort of exploration.
