Brace yourself for an unforgettable journey through abandoned buildings, crumbling structures, and a haunting atmosphere that still echoes with the whispers of its past. Witness the mysterious remnants of this forgotten military stronghold and uncover the secrets that lie within. If you're a fan of urban exploration and uncovering hidden histories, this captivating video is a must-watch!
Enjoy!
This channel is criminally underrated and under appreciated. So very interesting, this guy does some really good pre-planning and research.
I could listen to vagabond list Soviet facts all day
All week 👍
im concerned about vagabonds well being
@@FrenchmansFlats51. Yes he has possibly been captured by the Russian government officials and sent to Military Training Camp and sent to Ukraine to fight ?
I criticized it several times before, he should not mention "soviet facts" and the war here on this forum. Meanwhile I'm quite sure that the russian FSB ist observing UA-cam too. I wished Vaga Bond could give us a clou that he is safe and well. At least he might have been well one month ago, when he released this video.
A Good job, Ivan! As I understood you visited abandoned soviet military town of Balkhash - 9. There were three radars of soviet Early Warning System. The first one was the Dnestr, weak and obsolete system by 80's. The second one was the Dnepr. This type of Early Warning radar was deployed all around the USSR - from Mukachevo in the West of Ukraine to Irkutsk region, from Kolski peninsula to Crimea. Any of them are still in service. Third type was the Daryal radar station, the most powerful and perfect system of soviet Early Warning System. That type was also deployed throughout the USSR. In 2004 The Daryal station in Balkhash-9 as a result of arson was destroyed and then fully plundered. The remnants were later demolited. There are some videos of that fire in the internet. By the way, I visited Balkhash-9 in 1988 as a musician of a soviet pop group. The concert hall in the officer's club was full of soldiers, officers and their families. Two shows in one day were sold out. In general, Balkhash-9 was one of the many sites of vast Soviet State test field Sary-Shagan where air defense, missile defense and Early Warning systems were tested. In 1961 - 62 during the development of the first missile defence system A, the nuclear explosions were carried out at high altitudes over Sary-Shagan test field. Thank you again, stay safe bro!
Rock on! You just took my imagination to the next level. "Musician in a soviet pop group" sounds pretty intriguing- playing at a place like this makes it even more foreign, yet familiar and also amusing. Cool. I salute you!~
thanks, i was on the opposite side of the cold war
@@TheHypnogog, Thank you! I'm sorry, did you really think that in the Soviet Union there were only bears walking down the streets? Of coarse, the Soviets spent gigantic amount of money on weapons, missiles, bombers and fighters. That is true. But there was a lot of music in the USSR, too. Not only opera and ballet😀. Frankly, soviet pop singers, groups and rock bands were not well known in the western countries, but within the USSR they were very popular and successful.
Ну "Днепр" вообще то ещё долго стоял на дежурстве (две антенны размером с небольшие футбольные поля), на видео видно эти сооружения, я служил в этой части ещё в 2009ом, если бы не это видео, и не знал бы что часть оставлена))).
@@Altpfurz No, I'm very aware of the world around me, and I found your story to be interesting. I've played in my share of bands, and traveled more than your average bear- just not so far east.
this channel should have 10 times the number of subscribers! and Ivan's English is progressing phenomenally. every episode is amazing. Go Ivan Supertramp!!!
English is much easier for Russians and Europeans to learn as opposed to Chinese, even it takes some time to study.
@@LINJ638 no fucking shit. -.-
English pronunciation is just about impossible to get right all the time as it doesn't follow any rules. You speak very well. Thanks for your informative videos.
Dude, this is awesome content. Thank you for providing post-Soviet content and everything else you do for English speakers.
This guy should be picked up by a TV channel as he is superb! He'd be brilliant as a presenter for travel programs.
Vaga Bond, your expedition was most interesting. The lake view was beautiful.
Excellent video, this is probably my favourite video which you have produced. Good intro, well documented and interesting location!
I love this channel - thanks for all the really interesting places you show us and all the info. I really enjoy seeing what you find in those buildings and the scenery is amazing.
Another fantastic video. Good intro, good philosophy discussion, and lots of great places to explore.
Thank you for sharing these places that many of us would never know about otherwise. You are a very interesting person and I am very glad to have found your content. Pls stay safe :)
As a native english speaker it's cool to see an english as a second language classroom. Even I don't really understand all the stuff shown. It just comes naturally.
Your english is very good by the way. Grammar is almost perfect. What stand out to me (and I'm not complaining), is some pronunciation of certain words. "Radar" sounds like you're saying "Raider". "History" sounds like 'heestory'. "Leaked" sounded almost like "licked". "Group" sound like 'grope'. Been a while since I was in grade school, but I think this is short vs long vowels?
As someone who's never been outside of North America, seeing these places are very cool.
THANK YOU for preserving history. i got worried on those decaying staircases, and glad you were not injured.
this is astonishing. Thankyou so much
Awesome video, lovely truely enjoyed
That was a great video! Thank you Mr. Vagabond! I always thought it would be cool to visit lake Balkash. It seems like such an interesting geography, in the middle of so much emptiness. I know there are some towns and such, but relatively speaking, there are not many people around it compared to other large lakes and inland seas.
You have a great imagination and your thoughts are provoking and entertaining. Stay safe, but take risks! I have a vicariously great time watching your videos.
You also have great wherewithal- a commodity I did not find in enough supply in this life, and for that I am ENVIOUS. Keep up the living, because yes, only forward we march.
agree, from Nevada USA
Really cool video, thank you!
absolutely fantastic video, sir...nicely done.
Awesome video!
This one was very cool, thank you!
Dude you're my new favorite channel
fascinating discovery, thank you for your work Mr. Vaga Bond !
I heard the russians skimped on cement in their concrete mix. Their port facilities were terrible for crumbling. Alas, I have seen images of these apartments all over. They don't seem to fall down easily.
Wishing you health and luck. thank you for the upload
I hope you succeed in what your doing, your fun to watch and I like your content.
keep it up bro, great vids.
Love your videos!
Good to hear from you again,be safe in your travels and stay healthy the best you can . Danger can be very addictive it’s fun yes
Love this channel
Amazing video as usual! I love your content so much ❤
Greetings from Germany ✌️🇩🇪✌️
Всегда занятно смотреть как кто то лазает по заброшенным объектам.
Outstanding .
Just found this channel, keep them coming. You have loads of potential content and your English is good as is your neutrality. Stay safe from U.K.
As usual most interesting! Be safe.
I'm still amazed that you don't have at least 500k subs yet.
I loved seeing a glimpse of the schools - very interesting! Greetings from Ireland.
Love watching your videos, learning more about Russia each one. Amazing that the school had an article on New Zealand, and the USA I can't imagine American schools woukd teach such a wide view of the world.
Excellent
love your videos
chilling but also beautiful in a way.
Great video
very good, thank you
Thank you for this video. beautiful and brave and a bit mad
What always surprises me about these abandoned towns, most of the houses do have no window frames and no balcony balustrades. Does this mean, when people left they took these with them, or were these buildings never completed before people left?
No, it’s happened later. Other peoples collecting metal and windows
Great video! That place reminds me of a DayZ map!
I love this guys content
Such a cool place! Are all the trees dead from the salt water or some kind of contamination or is it just the time of year you visited? Warmest greetings and safe travels from Canada!
Bro i just love your videos and your trainhoping and great knowledge about Soviet union era it's awesome ❤🙌🏻
Excellent video. I love the Soviet mosaics.
It makes me sad seeing abandoned Soviet cities. I love that architecture. How everything was made. Feeling nostalgic.
hello. first of all im not an american, im from czechia. i love your videos. they have made me fall in love with russia and siberia. how you started talking about childhood was very interesting. id love to hear more of your wisdom sir. keep rocking on
One of your best! Thank You for this detailed look into a world that I feared as a kid because of what I was taught. We are so much alike, it’s wrong how the political parties of both countries spread the propaganda that instilled fear into us.
Your English is outstanding! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
nice vid.. soon all ghost towns ,,sad
In Germany we also used to do the same. First a layer of old newspaper and then the wallpaper!
fire channel omg
Your video's are very documentary, it shows a lot of the unknown.
7:15 it is crazy that this place was occupied just five years ago, and now it seems just like another post apocalyptic scenario 😮
Beautifull
Thanks Vegabond.
I'm fascinated of your excursions. So many interesting places and people you meat. ❤
A question to this region: it's a beautiful lake, but everything around is like desert. Are all the trees between the buildings dead? They look like
It was filmed in early Spring, leaves hadn't grown yet.
It always amazes me how straight and true those 5 story block apartments are. No windows, no doors, but straight as a die. How can that be? It seems to me there is a solution to large amounts of homelessness hidden in the architecture of these old buildings.
They are prefabricated from concrete slabs I think. They used the same technique in the UK after WW2 but the problem is that the concrete deteriorated due to poor quality control combined with a damp climate and inadequate maintenance. I'm not sure if the Soviets had the same problem.
I have looked at google maps and spotted a number of what look like abandoned villages around lake Balkash. If you are still in that area, maybe check out some abandoned villages with a great view of the lake?🤔🤔🤔
the one girl’s room had posters from The Vampire Diaries just like my friends did growing up in Texas, good to know across the world teenage girls love damon and stefan
Sitting in my house in New Zealand, reading about New Zealand from a classroom wall, thats in Kazakhstan...thats bent my mind.
Bro is out there playing DayZ in real life and I'm here for it
Привет, как дела? Ты хоть домой заехал? Или сразу в Казахстан? 😊 Здоровья, удачи в пути.
G'day from Australia 🤟
6:47 it's so beautiful there, what are the summer temperatures ?
Sport hole or sport hall? I got a good laugh out of that. We refer to them as "gym's" (sounds like the name Jim) which is short form for gymnasium
Glory hall.
@@ivantrainsLIVE hahahaha epic response!!
Hopefully in the not so distant future all military installations will be as abandoned as this site.
You can't be that naive.
I've seen deserted military facilities in and outside the USA.
None with a uniform bare concrete construction as posted
with 2.7K views this 06-23. Some of what I,vre seen was
built in the 1940's.
Amazing how deteriorated that place is since only 2018
You speak English really good. Where did you learn it?
Kazakhstan is such a weird place. All this old soviet stuff combined with local tribal
I was just watching something last week about abandoned Soviet military bases just like these in Mongolia.
Why do you not say the name of the town? I found it on the map, but I'm curious.
where is it on the map?
I found it called "Balkhash-9"
@@timmccarthy9917 Yeah that's what I found as well
Your english is very good, very understandable. Do Brits call gymnasiums 'sports hall, for спортзал?
You're the Huell Howser of Russia. Really interesting videos.
Swans are important in Irish mythology aswell, interesting.
The scenery of this place reminds me so much of the Half-Life 2 videogame.
Ivan, you don’t talk differently... I myself wash with soup all the time.
❤️ from U.S.
How did you eat and hydrate when there was nothing. Love more Russia footage. I just have always been fixated about their people.
13:05 - well that predates 1988 :)
It's looking as all the trees are dead at the same time.
@VAGA BOND Are you ok? Please let us know. Many miss you and your videos. I hope you are safe.
2:22 this is like playing infinite flat world in Minecraft 😅
Khazakstan number 1 exporter of potassium!
is vaga bond ok?
Chernobyl 2.0 without the radiation...
Actually Chernobyl 9582.0 - I guess all of ex-Soviet space is full of abandoned places like this.
Hello, I mean this respectfully and only ask out of curiosity. Is there any chance you would be drafted into the Russian military?
I hope to hell the answer is no, not least because then he couldn't produce anymore videos!
He hasn't done a video from inside Russia since the mobilization was announced. Hopefully he can outlast the war.
well, considering he hasn't been in Russia for at least half a year, actually drafting him would be difficult.
That's what I'm alarmed about too for a while now. His last videos were all from last year and we don't know where Vagabond is right now. Is he back in Russia again or in an european country where people from Russia are still able to enter easily.
Wow i would have taken the books with me 9:01
The classroom with photos of famous people definitely reminds me of the Chinese classroom. The art classroom even has photos of Lenin , and Marx 😂😅
New Tarkov map 😎
How does he manage to get into these remote sit.e
11:09
These houses behind you were not completed and already abondend
We love you Ванюся
great video- we explored with you
