Tbh I unironicly love this show it's so trashy that I have a good time watching it all the time plus the childhood memories and nostalgia is a bonus so yea this is one of my favorite sonic shows top 5
Gonna be honest, I grew up with all the sonic cartoons aside from SATAM. When I was little I found a DVD in a store saying it had the episode where they found their mother, that was my first instance of clickbaiting.
Okay I feel like a fish out of water, Me and my sister LOVED this show. We were small tots who never had a Sega console. We were Nintendo kids, blasphemous I know. Our only other insight into Sonic was Sonic X, The Adventures of Sonic, and Sonic Underground. We really liked the henchmen and liked riffing on the corny nature of the show. I honestly thought the songs were a bop at the time, but I can see how they'd be really annoying to most viewers now haha. I had no idea Sonia was voiced by the same dude who did Sonic and Manic! Blew my mind with that fact.
This show was literally my first introduction to Sonic and I was little and loved it. I would watch it over and over and over again to the point I had some episodes word for word memorized and I knew all the songs. Nowadays, I can barely remember the intro lyrics but over time watching it over and over and over again my love went from actually loving the show and actually just loving how gosh darn terrible it was. I love this show so much simply with how dumb it is. It's so obvious that, past the intro, no one freaking cared about this show and it's sad to see but highly entertaining for me. Some of my favorite highlights is the episode where their mom sets a trap for Robotnik but fails to actually consider the fact her children would be spying in on this and that they are dumb as heck like him so they fall for it to and they try to beat Robotnik to this place they believe their mother is which turns out to be this killer plant fortress thing where apparently she's gotta be magical with plants or something and that's where Manic got the freaking earth bending drum magic. Best part was them entering and seeing the vines of the fortress thing move but the frame literally breaks and stays in place so the half the vines don't move while the other half is moving. There's another episode where the hedgehogs are investigating this all powerful ship Robotnik made that no one seems to escape and they go to get info from their lion friend, Cyrus (I somehow do remember most of the characters names), and you can literally see in a VERY obvious LONG frame that ANYONE would notice that Manic's body is covering part of his leg. And then the episode plots are beautiful because they aren't thought out for one second. And the background characters are hideous. All in all, it's a fun time to watch and make fun of. Highly recommend if you like to make fun of terrible shows. You'll also be happy know that I was later introduced to FAR better Sonic media and all the other shows and I do have to say that I would rather watch Sonic Underground over Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog any day. And Sonic and the Black Knight is one of my absolute favorite Sonic games story wise. ^^
8:53 "I would call him Scourge the hedgehog IF HE WAS MORE ANNOYING" * was balling with laughter at this point because that is so accurate* Scourge is more of the flirtatious and manipulative while Manic is just manipulative.
I remember LOVING Sonic Underground as a kid. I thought it was discontinued because they never found their mother, and I was waiting sadly for so long...
The funny thing is the editor of this show Michael Edens who sadly passed away in 2021 was also the head writer of 1993's Universal Animated Studios Exosquad and season two showrunner. And anyone who saw Exosquad like me knows how dark that show was and how messed up this little fact was. Exosquad was straight-up killing main characters. and going with extremely dark subjects. Exosquad right now is on NBC/Universal streaming service Peacock. I think it's still free, I don't know.
5:31 I'm pretty sure Chuck is actually his great uncle (even in this version he's probably related to sonic by blood but they never bothered to reveal that) like how Scrooge is the ducklings trio's great uncle but everyone in his family calls him uncle (or "unca" with the classic version of the ducklings). Was Jules ever referred to as his brother or vice versa?
Well in Archie Aka the only place were Sonic actually has a father (not counting Nikkis father from the 1992 Manga) was Jules the broth of Chuck. I believe this was stated when Charles beat him self up about turning his brother into a mindless Robot during his first test run of the Robotoziser.
This was absolutely my child hood and I still love this show to this day being able to watch the show again made me cry when I got to listen to the most amazing sound track known to man the intro song alone is the main reason I love this show alot of people trash on this show when it is a very decent sonic show with 4 new characters that never get seen again which kinda sucks but still this show was a blast from my last and is still by far my fave tv show from childhood and during my adult hood
I agree with everything you said and the intro alone is the MVP of the entire production because it slaps so incredibly hard that everyone who's ever watched this show as a kid remembers it in good feelings because of the intro. It's ridiculous and I can give the show credit for that XD
When I was like 6 or 7 this show was fun for me finding all the sonic shows on Netflix. And I as a small child thought they were connected because of the art styles where so similar.
I miss the triplets, Tails, I miss them a lot 😔 I actually really like this show. I watched on Netflix a few years ago. I like the theme and sing it at my little brother to annoy him because he doesn't

Its hilarious how people forget that there siblings and there supposed to look a like.
@Jada Keithline yeah
My dad saw this on TV and decided to put it on since I like Sonic, worst time of my life.
Ngl as a kid that shit slapped! I have good memories of it but I refuse to rewatch it bc I don’t wanna ruin those memories.
Sonic underground is a fairly nostalgic memory of mine. Its weird, but i like it
Tbh I unironicly love this show it's so trashy that I have a good time watching it all the time plus the childhood memories and nostalgia is a bonus so yea this is one of my favorite sonic shows top 5
My favorite episode of sonic underground is when they go to an alternate universe where doctor robot Nick was actually the good guy
I remember being 6 and watching Sonic Underground on my Wii. Those were the days guys
Gonna be honest, I grew up with all the sonic cartoons aside from SATAM.
When I was little I found a DVD in a store saying it had the episode where they found their mother, that was my first instance of clickbaiting.
This came out in January, 6th, 1999, that's 14 days after Adventure came out, that being in December, 23, 1998.
Just let that sink in.
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog had the best Robotnik
Okay I feel like a fish out of water,
Me and my sister LOVED this show.
8:53 "I would call him Scourge the hedgehog IF HE WAS MORE ANNOYING"
* was balling with laughter at this point because that is so accurate*
Scourge is more of the flirtatious and manipulative while Manic is just manipulative.
Leave scourge and manic alone you assholes
@@tabletaussendienst2721 HE WAS JUST MAKING A JOKE YOU DUMBASS
I remember LOVING Sonic Underground as a kid. I thought it was discontinued because they never found their mother, and I was waiting sadly for so long...
The intro into this was an absolute banger ngl
When I was little, I'd watch Sonic Underground, thinking it was great. But now, I'm older, and... oh boy.
TBH, I honestly loved this show, it wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worse. Besides that intro does indeed slap.
Am i the only one who actually loved this show? i'd also love to see Sonia and Manic again
You forgot to mention the greatest fact about Sonic Underground, that Sonic's singing voice is done by Sam Vincent, a.k.a Double D.
Oh wow I’ve never been this early before
This fills me with the strongest nostalgia I’ve ever experienced
Honestly, the first time I’ve seen an episode of this show was through the magical world of UA-cam Poop.
TBH this would work better as a UA-cam poop
I can't believe you didn't mention the episode where they befriend a robot and the robot kills himself to save the hedgehogs.
Broo I still have the disc's of these, I remember watching these as a little kid
Thank you so much for reviewing my favorite Sonic fanfiction.
im glad other people remember this show and it wasnt a weird thing of my childhood
3:49 a seer warned of a deadly fate...lol
Honestly I love Sonic Underground it Deserves better! I wonder what happened to their Actual father in the Show?
Also, I love how you, while you were talking about Shadow and Silver's character depth, you show footage of Shadow the Hedgehog
The Opening theme for Sonic Underground goes WAY HARDER than it needs to.
14:21 Pretty sure that bit about the communism rant is a false edit added on IMDb.
It's probably episode 26. The China part was probably a lie though
You know I loved this show when I was a kid, a childhood favorite.
I actually really liked this show...the opening slaps...
At least it's not Sonic: Armageddon.
The Animation is better than anything Ken Penders ever draw.
When I was like 6 or 7 this show was fun for me finding all the sonic shows on Netflix. And I as a small child thought they were connected because of the art styles where so similar.
I miss the triplets, Tails, I miss them a lot 😔
I actually really like this show. I watched on Netflix a few years ago.
I like the theme and sing it at my little brother to annoy him because he doesn't
11:13 We gotta stop this bomb, before it blows up our mom
LMAO good joke
thank you for confirming this show existed and i wasn't just having a hallucination
I remember one of my friends being REALLY into this anf and telling me about it. I think the first episode I saw had them singing "I'm looking for someone, do you have the 411?" and I hated it.
Sonic satam fanbrat
@@Dragzilla66 stop hating sonic underground you monsters
Ok but the theme song slaps.
