    Reminds me of the Trident in the 1960s with its non-HUD system. Just as good.

    That's incredible! Would you be okay with me featuring this in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description.

    Sweet! Thank you for the upload. Just one (not at all serious) point: I thought Chicago was meant to be 'The Windy City'; man, you'd think it would have blown that darn fog away... ;-)

      When the whole "interocean" is covered in fog, the wind won't be any help. I served as a helicopter pilot for years in the Texas gulf coast, and experienced this many times 👍🇺🇸

      The pilot and copilot wear what's called a 5-point harness (it includes shoulders, lap and crotch belt). What you saw was most likely the shoulder straps being disengaged from the hub where all those straps connect but the lap belt still connected. With my company, lap belts are required prior to and during taxi.

      That was just the shoulder straps.

    Amazing! Autolands are exclusively for CAT III C certified airport, airplanes and crew right?? I'm currently training for my CPL and we're studying approach charts. The airport we train in (SLET) is not a precision approach airport, but our international airport (SLVR) is currently a CAT I, soon to become a CAT III A. Again, amazing vid. Greetings from Santa Cruz, Bolivia!

      3a is good enough (50ft DH), 3b is 0ft DH, 3c is supposed to be for zero visibility and automatic taxiing supposedly.

      @tonlyjonly6803 6 років тому

      CAT III A - 100' DH/RVR 700, III B - 50' DH/RVR 150, III C - 0'/0'

      @Arcadiez 2 роки тому +2

      na u can use autoland on CAT II as well, plus this aint a CAT III C but a CAT III B. since there is not a single airport that can handle CAT III C(zero visibility) as you need auto roll out and taxi guidence.

    What is going on outside the cockpit in the center between the windows? That just doesn't look normal to me...looks like something moving from side to side out there where the divider is between the front two windows.

      I think this video is stabilized. This is the effect the stabilization has on the video.
