I think the sweetest thing about this is that he clearly is scared of hurting them or making them uncomfortable bc he doesn't know what exactly to do. I honestly don't think he dislikes kids, he just wants to make sure they're ok.
I honestly think, once Wes, Fin, June and Poppy get around 4 years old, Eugene is going to /love/ being an uncle, as thats this perfect age where you can be silly, and they'll love it and be silly back, but are old enough to have a conversation with.
Eugene doesn't fool me. He loves those kids. And he got on so well with the Girl Scouts that one of them said he was... kind. As Wes, June, Poppy, Finn, and others that follow grow older, they'll love Uncle Eugene more and more; he'll be a great influence in their lives.
I think the thing is that He maybe doesn't love kids but he cares about them as people. He wants them to know the world has good people in it and that they are safe around him.
What I like about Eugene is he doesn't want kids - and doesn't see himself as natural with kids - but he still tries. He still treats them respectfully. Often people think not wanting kids = hating kids (it doesn't). And sometimes people take their childhood issues or not understanding kids out on said kids (which is wrong). But Eugene is always so mindful, he's so soft and considerate. Just because he's not jumping to cuddle a baby or isn't suddenly filled with the desire to coo, doesn't mean he is against makingan effort. It is just nice to see that portrayed.
I thought he mentioned in one of the lie detector videos that he actually *did* want kids someday? That being said, i agree with that sentiment: I'm great with kids, enough that when I was teaching swimming lessons I was one of the most often requested teachers. But I don't want any of my own.
As someone who is child free but works with younger kids Eugene goes into this with the right mind set. Everyone makes fun of the fact that he asked what he should have on to meet a baby but that to me shows a level of love that most people don't understand. When the babies cry he asks what they need which I mean they can't talk but the fact that he's thinking "how would I want someone to interact with me if I was like this" and he's applying it. I'm really proud of him and he is my fav out of all the try guys
I don't want kids, but I had to to go my mom's work to pick up mail that got delivered to their house instead of mine. I get there and she's babysitting a co-workers baby while she's driving her route (school bus drivers, my mom works in the office). I ended up talking with the baby for a bit and sympathizing that Big Bird can be a little scary. I got my mail, dropped off an insurance related thing to my mom, saw a baby, and was given cake. The highlight way playing with a baby that didn't pull my hair and seemed interested in me.
A lot/ most people who do not want kids either really really like them or at least respects them if they don't like them. The ones that are to worry about are the ones who wants kids but expect it to be a solve/ to fill their lives without thinking about the kids perspective or just people never thought that having a kid is being responsible over a long period of time over another human being no matter what and having to respect them also, again no matter what and not just if the kid is how you expected them to be. If you want a kid then better prepare to accept who he is! Else you should not have kids.
When all 4 Try Babies are in elementary school, Eugene is gonna be the uncle who picks them all up from school and takes them shopping or to the zoo when he was supposed to make sure they do their homework. He knows they'll need some down time from public school :)
@@ali.toledo wes, finn, poppy and june. Wes and finn are neds, poppy and june are twins who belong to their producer Rachel. You can see eugene babysit them on a video.
Eugene likes kids. In fact, he’s goods with kids as well. The real issue is that he is aware of how fragile and special children are, and becomes fixated on an overwhelming sense of anxiety about all the damage he could theoretically do because of that fact. But I have the same problem with infants in particular. I study early childhood education, and yet will not work with anyone in the infancy group because I am terrified of how breakable those tykes are. I freeze up and avoid them like the plague. Anyways, when I become a parent I’m adopting for that exact reason.
Literally same here, I’m a graduate in childhood studies, I know everything that I can to be an effective practitioner, but man, babies are a no go for me. They are extremely resilient and tough for little tots but my anxious mind can’t cope with it for long periods of time.
Honestly Eugene is the best with kids. He respects them, gets to their level, don't talk down at them, doesn't treat them less cause they are kids/babies, and just have fun with them, and let's them be themselves.
I just think he's scared of hurting them or not knowing why their upset, like he said. Once kids can communicate their needs it's a lot easier to help them, plus there more durable.
The thing is, Eugene says he doesn’t like kids much and stuff but kids love Eugene and he tries his best. I love his attitude towards kids and it warms my heart how hard he tries to be good.
Kids are always honest, the girls who said he would be a good parent are telling the truth. If one day he decides to adopt or have a surrogate then that baby will be SO lucky.
My favourite thing is how he talks to them like they’re little humans (which they obviously are) it’s clear he’s unsure of himself but obviously cares about their well-being ❤
Eugene is so sweet. He may not be the most paternal, but he has a kind heart and really tries to be the best for the kids. Is always sweet to see him connect with them!
Since they made Keith dog-sit all the pets at once, so Eugene should have to babysit everyone’s kids at once. All four Try Babies with Uncle Eugene 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
you clearly haven't had to babysit several kids at once before. Homie I promise it's not a good experience. One or two at a time is the most one person can take without getting a migraine and mental breakdown
Now that I have a baby sister and often have to babysit, this just makes me miss her. I live in my grandmother's house out of town from where my parents live so I only see her twice a week, three times if I decide to come home for the weekend.
I miss my baby brother the most now that I've moved out too. This week was actually the first time I've been away for his birthday and it was so weird.
Eugene may think he cannot handle children but the fact that he's being considerate of even what to wear when meeting them as well as being careful about holding them, is endearing. And yeah, people not wanting kids doesn't mean they hate them (at least, not all cases are like that). I have a co-worker who hates kids and while I like kids I can't imagine myself raising one even if I want to.
Now with all that's happening I feel like Eugene is 24/7 with Ariel and the kids fucking pissed off at Ned and I know he does everything in his power to make Ariel feel better and I'm all in for it
Really relate to Eugene. I’m scared I’ll injure a kid by accident or accidently give them trauma 💀 so I really do not want to be near them bc of that. Am I still forced to hold them at different parties even after saying all this due to being the oldest there? Yes. Yes I am. I’m thriving😍

Him blurting out random Korean words words to get the girl to smile for the photo was hilarious. "Soju soju soju!"
12:40 - This explains some of Eugene’s anger in the statement they had to make about the whole Ned situation. 😅
I thought the same thing
and the fact he's best friends / really close with Ned's wife, but yeah
When all 4 Try Babies are in elementary school, Eugene is gonna be the uncle who picks them all up from school and takes them shopping or to the zoo when he was supposed to make sure they do their homework. He knows they'll need some down time from public school :)

Oh my gosh I bet he would love taking them to the zoo. He loves animals and I know kids do too
All we need now is a video of Eugene babysitting Wes and Finn to complete his Uncle arc.
Idk if we’ll get that 😢
"I will murder anyone who tries to hurt him" I felt that...

I love how Eugene is constantly like am i a bad influence? danger? germs? falling trauma?
this is a bad idea
Are my shorts too short???
Step one to being a good parent is understanding and respecting that kids are people who are still learning how to be people
“You’re kind enough.”, that was so wholesome i would’ve cried
This video should just be renamed “Here’s 13 minutes of Serotonin”
You know this all hits different after the Ned cheating affair
YES this video is so soothing
@@littleowletart You’re so right
It tells you why Eugene looks like he could kill someone in their video regarding the scandal. He did say he's now ready to kill for Wes.
Starting to think Eugene isn't comfortable around younger kids but like 7-10 is the golden age for him.
I just think he's scared of hurting them or not knowing why their upset, like he said. Once kids can communicate their needs it's a lot easier to help them, plus there more durable.

It looks like he's becoming more and more comfortable interacting with these kids and genuinely enjoying time with them- it's very sweet :3
Eugene is like me, he likes kids when they’re old enough to develop a personality

the fact that this was recommended to me now makes me sad 😭
