- Song, 'Sacred Feminine'
Written By By J. L Hart
Verse 1
There is so much beauty to be seen,
throughout the seasons those treasures bring,
The stones that lay upon the ground,
where the wisdom of beauty is found,
If not for feathers, sticks and stones,
what lay upon the earth like bones,
the gifts of life which caught my eyes,
As I beheld the Creators simple prize.
Chorus
For I was once a younger too,
I fought for rest and felt the blue,
but when at last I felt the wind,
the song I herd did help me mend,
From misty rivers and starry nights,
the stories of old found in my sights,
The elder tales of times long past,
did make more sense to me at last,
Verse 2
And far apart as we might seem,
I know what rests beyond the green,
I’ve read the words and sung the songs,
I’ve built the lodge and sweated long,
I've swam in waters deep and far,
And hiked the mountain to behold a star,
I played the flute and mourned for loss,
When at first I knew the cross.
Chorus
For I was once a younger too,
I fought for rest and felt the blue,
but when at last I felt the wind,
the song I herd did help me mend,
From misty rivers and starry nights,
the stories of old found in my sights,
The elder tales of times long past,
did make more sense to me at last.
Outro
And far apart as we might seem,
I know what rests beyond the green,
I’ve read the words and sung the songs,
I’ve built the lodge and sweated long,
I've swam in waters deep and far,
And hiked the mountain to behold a star,
I played the flute and mourned for loss,
When at first I knew the cross.
